I'm loving all these videos - it's helping me realise that we're all the same: there's good days and bad days and every task invites a fresh approach to maximise the outcome. It really makes sense.
We made up time long ago and now have tools to control it. We're interesting, aren't we? As a developer, I find time boxing is really good to do spikes and avoid getting lost in rabbit holes ;)
I dont quiet understand the application of those?? For My Job I have to make 15 calls a day, usually this is like draging 15 tables around all day to me! I know Im more productive and focused in the morning, am I Boxing, where Im splitting my calls to little blocks of 3 or 4? or do I Block a time to make the calls? which like I said is a very diffucult huge task for me.. Ill start dialing and so quickly my brain starts jamping around and thinking too much about what im going to say and dreading what they will say and 5 hours later Ive done 3 calls! Some days are better than others but the general theme is that my 8 hours at work get eaten up by having to make 15 calls.
Time blocking is about ensuring that you set aside enough time to do the task. Time boxing is about limiting the amount of time that you spend on the task. Real life example: blocking an hour to wash all the dishes vs setting a timer for 10 minutes and washing as many as you can before the timer goes off.
I think the process of being super specific about what you will work on is the big game changer for me when doing this.
Man, your channel is pure gold!
So far the best video on theese concepts. Simple and instruktive! Thanx

Thanks Micah, I actually didn't realise that time boxing and time blocking were different. Another great video! 👏🏻
I had no idea there was a difference between time boxing and time blocking, makes so much sense.

One does not simply walk into Mordor, well quoted man!!!
Protecting your time is key.
Wau, subtle difference. But that actually makes a lot of sense! Thanks Micah. Loving these vids!
Anything that encourages mono-tasking and is good for creativity gets my vote. I adore time blocking.
Bro thank you for this video and your optimizations 👍🙏👍👏

Sorry, I'm no clearer of the difference between the two after watching that video. But it was a good video none the less.
