She seems to be that type of person who wants to help with that type of stuff. When Kiara messaged her about how to handle her computer when moving, she came over and helped her box it up.

ah yes IT guys seems like a wizard to people who dont understand a single thing, able to conjure up magic (programs) and fix various curses (bugs/errors). talking about tech like computer parts seems like a spellcasting to them lol
Programming look like magic only until you sart doing it. The second you start, you lose all awe of computers and gain even more respect for the people who actually managed to wrangle usefull stuff out of that braindead machine.

Correct. I also remember Botan saying on stream that Kiara better take care of her GPU like it's her life because at that time (& probably still) the prices are rising.
@@alistairwilliams9074 Yeah. Due to several factors coming into play simultaneously getting a good new gpu is very difficult right now for anyone not willing to pay ridiculous scalper prices.
If you have a buddy who has been building PC's for a long time maybe they can help you out with it. There are also a lot of tech CZcamsrs that you can watch and maybe that'll help you in figuring out what's good and what's not. There will be a lot of technical terms along the way, but I'm sure you'll be able to understand them.

Considering that her new outfit was that sports bra-looking thing, you could say that Botan already took off her shirt.
Someone mentioned Subaru had an rtx 2060, an rtx 2060 and an 9900kf should be fine for running apex. She said her computer sounded like it was struggling so that implies her fans are going 100% which probably means her PC's cooling setup is not very good. This would result in her cpu and/or gpu throttling performance.
if it sounds bad it could also just be a HD dying since that'll be a new bad noise as opposed to just the fans going.
That sounds like the case of dried out thermal paste with dusts accumulated since she bought the pc.
I don't know about pc parts and stuff, but I do know that Apex has an option in its settings that turns a very good pc into a potato.
I ran r9 290 which is much older than subaru 2060 and still can ran apex at high setting. Subaru should let botan check her pc out or worse gpu fan fail
Meanwhile my pc only using ryzen 3 3200g vega 8 graphics and it can run APEX at medium settings without a gpu.

Sasuga lion, recommending Subaru to buy a new GPU but also setting up the inevitable stories that will come up when Subaru finds out how much GPU are priced nowadays.
(but ig it doesnt matter as one stream's SC can cover for a 3080 Super...probably)
But google takes around 60%-70% from SC. And company takes around 20%. So talent (i call vtuber in company as talent) takes 10-20% from SC.
There is also a problem of finding a store that still have individual GPUs on their stock and not as a part of the whole ass desktop set.
@@AnnoNeimCh Bruh what, I thought it was the same as twitch, thats pretty rough. Still, 20% of a red SC is 20$ minimum and easily twenties or thirties are being given each stream. Revenue from 2-4 days of streaming could quite possibly cover for the cost.

I'm a little surprised with how long they've been streaming that they're still clueless about PCs, and even Luna who is younger and grew up in Japan which is like 'the' Tech Giant imo
And Botan seems super dependable, she was willing to help them out in the middle of a stream, she probably would've gone GPU shopping with them if they kept talking lol
When I started using the computer my dad passed down to me, I used it for 6 years and never bothered to check the specs until it couldn't run a 64-bit game and I had to find out how to upgrade it
It's hard for me to say, because I am not a Vtuber, and frankly rarely play high end games at all.
But as a person that worked in IT and a graphic designer, I feel like Botan is a little overeager the other way like 1070 is by no means outdated, and having the same graphics card for 3 years is not at all unusual.
Like she does bring up a good point that if you play games for a living you should make sure your PC performs well.
But realistically, as an IT person, the specs of a 3 year old PC will still hold up great today. It's not the hardware that's failing here, but poor maintenance. As Subaru does not know much about computers she likely does not take good care of it either and I bet that C drive is cluttered to the brim and physical dust hasn't been cleaned once ^^'

Isn't Japan traditionally regarded as computer-illiterate? Smartphones are the big thing over there and a lot of people don't have computers. Or at least that's what I've always heard.

@@RancorSnp a 1070 for just playing games is fine, but you’re gonna run into issues if you want to run obs and your VTuber model software in the background at the same time. I think most of them have a second monitor to read comments while playing too.
If you can’t play apex and watchdogs and stream when it’s their main job you should def upgrade.

So from what I gather she has an i9-9900KF and a 1070? Personally I'd hold on to those for a few more years and I don't mind toning down settings for newer games, but if she's looking for high settings and plans on playing more recent games I'd say I guess it's (sort of, not really) worth investing in an RTX3000 card.
If not, we could still cross fingers and hope by next year the new gen cards will be able to keep up with demand. I'm hoping to whoever is up there that PS5s are in stock and sold at msrp by next year because I'm really hoping to get one for Elden Ring, FF7R and Bloodborne. I don't have much interest in new AAA games, and I mostly play indie/old AAA games on my laptop (with the exception of DS3, Guilty Gear Strive and DOOM on lowest settings lmfao).

Subaru is kinda relatable, i've been using the same pc for 5 years now and still does the job done for League, TF2 and MC. for games like APEX and Valorant i just head for net cafes.
i really want to upgrade but i dont really know what to get and what my budget's limit is (still in uni and gotta use money responsibly), all those years of gaming and im still clueless about pc stuffs, i feel like a joke lmao.
