Shared tip from Ardyth: you can use a piece of acetate that you lay over to hold the card and stencil down while inking and slide it to expose a little at a time, if that makes sense. She puts colored tape or washi on 2 sides so it’s easier to see it and uses it for a straight edge to stencil 2 colors or whatever also.

I love the circle! I just would’ve made it easier and put the sentiment strip at the bottom where the bigger gap was and added a leafy branch or leaf die. Love them all!!! You’re so fun to watch!!!

Love the cards. I’ve found when I am cutting a diagonal on patterned paper to have a gap between the diagonal and keep the pattern looking seamless is to trim off the top and bottom the same amount. My favorite was the one you thought you goofed!

I have this leaf embossing folder. I didn't buy the stencil now wish I had. I've caught on to how to use these stencils with matching embossings and didn't grasp that before. How lovely is this. I too loved your white card idea with just a backing in a teal and matching teal strip with words. I make a lot of my own sayings via computer printings and sometimes I have templates figured out to match up with die cutting strips and other times I just fussy cut those out. Anyway I love to change fonts and thickness of lines or even mix up fonts when typing out a page. You are giving me so many ideas. Thanks for your shares. And love your thinking on the cuff so to speak not fully planned out ahead of time. No doubt you have the bones laid out but where they go is anyone's guess including fun with you as you figure that out on the journey. Luv's it.

The first 2 & the shadowing were beautiful. I think on the third one, I might have used a fine pen or marker to outline the leaves & stems, then add veins to the leaves. Another option would be to use it as a background for one big leaf design. Lots of choices for what to do. Sometimes I save my mistakes (hate to waste anything) then one day a solution hits me.

Nice cards! One cut out in a circle put on a panel with a die cut branch with leaves and sentiment would be good. I think you just got the Altenew curvy branches stamp and die or and leafy die with the embossed circle would be cool. How come I can’t think of easy cards when I sit down??? Lol

I would highly recommend misting the Neenah before embossing it so two t crack. A simple folders ok but more detailed for sure. You can even wipe it with a baby wipe on the back of the front is inked.

For those without an embossing press:
I received my 1st 2 embossing folders today. I have a small die/embossing machine, so I knew they wouldn’t fit. But I thought I could make them work, & if not, I could cut them smaller on my mini table saw.
This is how I got them to work:
When I studied art, we embossed paper using an intaglio press & wet paper. So I cut heavy watercolor paper to fit, then soaked it in water. My first attempt failed because the edges of the paper soaked up enough water, but the center didn’t. So I put it back in the water & left it for about 30 minutes. Blotted it on a towel, just enough so it wasn’t dripping wet. Put it in the embossing folder & used a rolling pin. I went over it several times, pressing pretty hard. (I stood up to be able to add a lot of pressure.) I used the same paper as I used on my failed attempt, knowing that on the edges I would get a double impression, but I was just trying to see if I could get it to work. And it did. I thought the watercolor paper would curl up while drying, but it only got a little curved, so I curved it in the other direction & it remained pretty flat.
I brushed a stamp pad over it lightly to slightly color the high parts. Then, I happened to place the embossed paper with a corner overlapping my iPod screen & noticed that the light from the screen showed through the paper a bit, but moreso in the deepest impressions. I think I might join pieces together, create a cylinder, & use it with a flameless candle or fairy lights inside.

I have not tried Catherine Pooler inks yet. Are they water reactive?

I love the Sea Glass green or I call it Sea Foam green. The teal and moss green colors mixed with the white pearl ink made the embossing stunning. I was thinking on the card you cut out the circle , wouldn't it have been easier to cut the circle first, then lay that over the sliced frame die to cut out evenly?
