Do you think skills and qualifications help you to land the job you want?

Thank you so much for making this video! I think that this concept is so counterintuitive that most people don’t realize that this is the reality behind most hiring. I think the system is broken, both at the recruitment industry and educational level. Professionals who can help to restore the balance somewhat by creating content like this to help everyone be more informed and more successful in their careers are a fantastic way to address this problem!

Thank you very much for your videos, I really find them very useful for all those appearing for interviews. Great that I landed to your channel and got a chance to look at the videos.

I stumbled across this video and was pleasantly surprised as it describes the situation I am currently in. Having over 20 years in experience and following redundancy. I am getting interviews but then no offers. I could really use your help as I struggle to 'sell myself' whilst using the S.T.A.R technique. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Hi, the STAR Technique is a great structure, I would recommend including key points, and pre-preparing a couple of examples based on the job description - I cover more specifics in this video including answer examples using the STAR Technique - czcams.com/video/8u7TR30McFE/video.html I hoep it helps, and best of luck!

I am a fresher, and i don't have any experience I applied for HR coordinator I got shortlisted for the interview. But i didn't passed because other candidates were more experienced.

I'm sorry to heat that, HR Coordinator jobs are very popular, if you don't have experience I would recommend highlighting your trasnferable skills. I cover transferable skills and how to communicate them in this video czcams.com/video/tktO28hH_Mg/video.html

Appreciate if you could upload any videos for people appearing for Competency based interviews in any International Organizations into an IT/Technical role. Thank you very much!

Do you work with many people coming from a social work field who want to get into HR?

I applied for a job and 9 days ago they emailed me and asked me to tell them some times that I’d be available for a phone interview ‘in the next few days’. I told them three different mornings I was available for this interview. They never replied to my email to tell me an interview time which I thought was a bit odd and it got to the end of the week and I never got a phone call from them :(
I sent them another email 4 days ago saying I’m still interested in the job and that I hope there is a time that suits to have an interview.
I still haven’t heard back and so don’t know what’s going on. I tried phoning the company a couple times but it said no one was available and it said to leave a message. Should I be concerned or is this normal? Any advice? Thank you.

I'm sorry you've experienced this, feedback really should be mandatory within a certain timeframe. I plan to cover following up guidelines in another video, but treatment during the interview process can be an indicator of treatment during employment so I would ask how much you want to work there? I would advise to keep your options open and consider employers that have a more structured and engaging process.
