      Just getting into airsoft, seirously im just buying a couple 100 bio bbs, a gas pistol, and maybe a couple of replacment cartridges if i need them, and a mask. Thats it. I don't think i beginner needs a full on chest rig, like seriously, are you going to buy a chest rig, then i would say over 100 dollars on mags to fill that (from what ive seen, mags are expansive, like for my starting pistol, it was 15$ a mag, which i think is pretty ridiculous). And all i really need is a pistol. I know a good cqb place nearby, and i think im going to have some fun.

    Gents, this is a LOT more Gotham what you NEED to start airsofting. Here’s the stuff I started with:
    1. AEG - I put a lot of money into my first AEG, way too much in hindsight. I’d recommend an Elite Force or G&G M4 starter kit. They run for about $150, and come with all the necessary parts for your gun to work. They always include at least a battery or two, usually a hi-cap magazine, and a smart charger, which alone costs about $40 bucks, so you’re already saving.
    2. Either 1 more hi-cap magazine (Stamped Metal ones are usually cheapest for M4’s) or 2 mid-range mid-caps (go with a polymer mid-cap, they’re easier to come by, they’re cheaper, and parts are much easier to find, in the rare event your magazine fails completely). It also doesn’t hurt to buy another spare pack of springs for your magazine, just in case.
    3. Face protection. I started with a cheap pair of sealed goggles and a mesh lower mask, but I would recommend a new player these two pieces, both can be found on Amazon. A one-Tigris foldable lower face mask, and a pair of Pyramex I-Force Sporty goggles. They fit my face perfectly, and there is little to no gap after some light adjustment. For reference, my ancestry is French as well, and it even fits over my big ass nose.
    As for some other gear that you can re-purpose things from around your house that can save you some money:
    4. Any kind of dark clothing, but also somewhat bulky and light-weight. What I mean by this is a pair of old jeans, a t-shirt, and an old sweatshirt. Even better if you go hiking regularly and have some quick-dry pants. They work just as good for airsoft, just make sure they can withstand a lot of abuse, or are an old pair you don’t really care about to begin with.
    5. Any kind of satchel, or bag. I started out with an army navigator’s pouch, or “Fag Bag” for those of you who were in the infantry. They have two pockets so I used one for full mags, the other for empty ones. It also has spots for pens and other supplies as need be.
    6. Old boots or shoes. Boots are preferable if you’re outdoors, also indoors for the most part, but some old sneakers should do for your first game or two. Just watch your footing if you don’t have much ankle support.
    7. Gardening or work gloves. I was fortunate enough to already own a pair of Mechanics gloves, so those are what I’ve used forever, and I love them. But you will need gloves. Getting shot in the finger absolutely sucks. It’s worse than anywhere else I’ve been shot. And I’ve been shot in the tip of my dick through thin pants. Any gloves will do. Just don’t wear anything too bulky that you won’t be able to be comfortable when handling your weapon.
    8. A hat. I’ve always worn one of my grandpa’s old Boonie hats from ‘Nam. They’re absolutely perfect for where I’m at (North Carolina). You can get them in just about every pattern and size, and the brim is actually really effective at deflecting shots from your eyes and ears.
    9. A bright rag. Preferably red to be used as a dead rag.
    All in all, the combined total here for the stuff I didn’t have was about $250 usd, which is about $200 bucks less than what they’re saying you need in this video. Starting airsoft is more about being resourceful than anything. I’ve met guys who have a total of $300 bucks into their load out, and wreck ass on the field because they spent their cash on the basics, and spent less time working, and more time playing. Get out there and play some airsoft, boys!
    Another tip: ARMY NAVY STORES ARE YOUR HOLY LAND. I bought a pair of old BDU’s for a total of $5 bucks for a top and pant pair. Stocked up on them as well, because 5 bucks is a steal for any bdu set

It's not a competition so there's no real reason to upgrade your gun to the max. My friend has so much useless shit on his kit and has put more money into an EoTech and other shit for his gun than he has upgrading it, but he has fun doing it. And that's really all Airsoft is about.

      projectcalamity I will agree, much of it is a fashion show. Though, some people have fun not only from just playing but from winning as well and that's just people that a competitive mindset like myself. Having a gun that can compliment your skill set will make you all that much better, given, one can't perfom as well with a gun they've never used. A bad player will remain a bad player given both a good and bad gun. The good players will perform like an average player, given a bad gun but a great player with a good gun. • @korporalhimmelsto4125
      @korporalhimmelsto4125 Před 7 lety

      Not BDUs though, but ACUs. BDUs or Battle Dress Uniforms are the cut employed by all branches of the U.S military from 1981 ('77 for the marines) to ~2004. Battle Dress Uniforms were in the M81 Woodland Camouflage Pattern, a refinement of the ERDL (Engineer Research and Development Laboratories). The cut style of BDUs are derived from the third pattern OG-107. On the other hand, the ACU is a brand new style of cut (well, brand new in 2004) initially using the UCP (Universal Camouflage Pattern) but now using OCP, which you correctly stated as a camouflage pattern.
      TL;DR, not all fatigues, including fatigues in OCP, ACU, MarPat, et cetera, are BDUs as they use their own cut styles.

    • @korporalhimmelsto4125
      @korporalhimmelsto4125 Před 7 lety +1

      *sigh* here comes the armchair quartermasters........ ok so, BDU's, or Battle Dress Uniforms, is the specific style of cut employed by the U.S military in both the Vietnam Jungle fatigues type III and the standard uniform for all U.S armed forces from 1981-2004 (give or take 2 years). ONLY the uniforms called BDU (in M81 Woodland), DBDU (in six color desert camouflage), Jungle Fatigues Type III (in OD Green) and DCU's (in three color desert camouflage) are in this style of cut. Now, the current combat fatigues employed by the U.S Army in OCP/Multicam employ is called ACU, or Army Combat Uniform. Recognize the name? That is because this style of cut was adopted in 2004/2005 in the well known/hated UCP or Universal Camouflage Pattern.
