- Main final for the Top 10 drivers in the Featherweight category. In this final we were finally able to race drivers from the other group. Starting on pole was a relief as it meant less work needed to be done for a good result, especially on a narrow track like this. I aimed to absolutely nail lap 1 so I can just pull away.
Turned out my kart was not all that good! Could feel it slacking slightly, so was probably losing 3 to 4 tenths but it was still good enough to get the job done. 2nd place was able to keep up fairly well for awhile but around the 2/3 mark I started to eek away more and more.
Finished 1st with a best lap of 35.0! National Champion on the first attempt! Really pleased. Trekking for hours by train and walking in the rain from uni and back was all worth it :) Not bad for a non indoor driver! Onto my first encounters of BUKC...

This is in my hometown and I am into racing but I’ve only come here once but great drive
I've raced with 2nd place guy, I should have made it to the nationals but the marshaling and general standard of driving at London regional finals was awful, 14 people on track and to top it off I got black flagged in the 1st heat when I got hit from behind. But well done, that was a good drive!! Enjoyed that vid 👌🏼

What were your lap times? I went to this track last week
In this event times maxed out at a high 34 but i went about year after and was doing 32s. Track conditions change a lot
I think I’ve raced you before, I always go to this track. What I see here is you go a bit too wide on some corners and miss the apex. But we’ll done and good race.
This was only my 2nd visit so wasn't that optimal or consistent, I did much better on a 3rd visit the following year. Unfortunately due to weight I have to drive very differently to someone 10/20kg+more, worth bearing that in mind, cheers though :)
been there yesterday there so fast and fun but i did have some idiot drivers
Haha, it's always pot luck as to which drivers you end up being with! Can honestly happen at any kart track
