    Josh,
    Hope you taught Mark about using bleach to kill chiggers. One of the most important things we learned when we lived in Eastern Oklahoma was to take a shower, then take a warm bath with about 1/2 cup of bleach in the water. You smell like you been in a public pool but it kills and disinfects the chigger.

    • @ArkansasPilgrim
      @ArkansasPilgrim Před 4 lety

      To make a living on less than an acre one would have to sell veg at 1000 dollars a quart.... no one it their right mind will pay that. Now if you rely on making videos thats a different story. Long story short you need enough land to raise beef, crops that harvest at different times of year for cash flow. Can't be done on 5 acres.

    Around here we use an auger and concrete posts. Those steel posts would bend trying to drive them in coral rock.

    • @farmfencesolutionsllc7804
      @farmfencesolutionsllc7804 Před 4 lety

      Most coral isn't much trouble for the pipe we use. It has a yield strength of around 80,000psi, and with an experienced operator, it isn't too tough to peck it right through. If it's too much, we just swing the rock auger in, drill the pilot hole, fill the spoil back in, and drive the post. It's still stronger than concrete, as we've proven many times.

    • @chargermopar
      @chargermopar Před 4 lety

      @@farmfencesolutionsllc7804 That's good to know. We have rock that varies from pourous oolite to sandstone. There may be sand next to rock so when you drive a pipe in it will deflect in the ground or pinch off the end and cause the pipe to crunch up instead of cutting in rock. On filled in land you can easily drive those posts in.

      @@farmfencesolutionsllc7804 80,000? I have hauled many loads of steel, and tubing in my life as skateboard cowboy. I used to haul out of mills from Detroit to Alabama. I have never hauled any tubing to my knowledge that was galvanized like this with a 80,000 spec. Usually i understand to be hi tensile it is gonna be cold rolled. But I have to be careful with tightening my straps on thin 18-16 ga 55,000 min yield tubing especially if my winch spool is empty or I can easily make it to tight and it collapses. 50,000 min yield is most popular. This looks like my grandfathers industrial chainlink fence that i had to cut out with a torch. Just common cold rolled SS40 if it's Allied, SPS40 if it's Stephens, or WT 40 if it is Wheatland. I've hauled it all. Usually like to look at the footage I'm hauling. A 4" 40WT is like a little over 6-1/2 lbs a ft. Very heavy and strong. But I haven't seen 80,000 tensile on any BOLs yet that I recall. Nascar racecars used to use a really strong tubing in their cars that was seamless and made in Detroit if I remember correctly but it wasn't ever galvanized that i recall. What does "Building a first generation farm." mean to you? I get an idea without watching the video or reading an absurd comment. I'm impressed by a 14 YO farmer with a corn field as big as North Carolina.

    I feel like my skid steer with a montana post driver is better at driving post then the protech machines and way cheaper with more attachments.

    • @farmfencesolutionsllc7804
      @farmfencesolutionsllc7804 Před 4 lety +4

      If that were the case, that's what we would take with us every day. We run very efficient and high profit margin crews, and we do it with the best equipment available. We keep a few Montana drivers around, and Farm Fence Solutions is even a dealer for them, but for true quality and production, you just can't beat an EVO from Protech Machinery. If you just need a driver for the odd job here and there, and already have a skid steer, the Montana is a fine choice.

      From the videos I've watched the protech just looks slower and theres no way that auger would drill through the rocks you'll run into in Montana.

      I agree with the montana is the only way.. i want too see yur evo lay out, spread an pound 300+ wood post a day. We run a 5 guy crew an i wud have a hard time believing that the evo cud keep up with us.. we have no problem putting in 4k+ feet of 5 strand high tensile in a day

    Hi Josh,
    2 things...first how dose the Quick PTO work, have you had a chance to test it yet? Second, I watch all of your videos, and I would say 80% of the time they don't show up as watched on my page, I know you guys get paid for view and likes, the like is always there, but I'm not sure why the views aren't showing on my end. This video is one of the most recent that I watched that shows on my screen that I didn't view it...

    How do those guys make it pay with all that expensive kit? Credit to them.

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  Před 4 lety

      Average cost to construct a fence is between $3 and $8 per linear foot

    • @farmfencesolutionsllc7804
      @farmfencesolutionsllc7804 Před 4 lety +2

      We make it pay by operating efficiently. The kit is really cheap compared to labor costs, and time is money. We don't charge less because we are able to do it better and faster, we just make more money in the same amount of time. An EVO only needs a few hours a month to cover the cost of ownership, and the rest goes in the pocket of the man who learns to operate it efficiently.
