Extending a train line? That's probably the understatement of the century. xD That's Stuttgart 21, the biggest and most controversal construction project in all of Germany. They're putting the train station and many, many kilometers of tracks completly underground.
Well, most controversial next to the Berlin Airport...
Extending a train line - Das ist ja mal der Kommentar schlechthin -
null Ahnung , oder einfach nur coooool !
Actually that constitution has nothing to do with Stuttgart21. They are extending the U12 line
You can rent Bordgames, Puzzles, audiobooks and videogames in any big public libary in germany.
Zafran Orbian films aswell
Zafran Orbian What? Here in Toronto its just books, CDs (and I think cassettes up till a few years ago), ebooks, magazines and thats about it. There is one library that has a 3D printer... But no video or board games, no puzzles or anything cool like that!
Zafran Orbian Puzzles are common in the US libraries though Board Games I've never seen before in a library especially to rent
***** Yeah, I could say the same to you!
*****
I did not have that luck, he usually stayes to south for that but yes I like his videos as well.
I really like this completely white and very organised looking style. So perfectly neutral.
In the most german libraries, you can rent Boardgames and other cool stuff. Some even have consoles (I hope it is the right translation).
OH, thats me! 4:05
I absolutely love that place! I'd go there to edit my videos if I lived closer :D
Get Germanized wo ist die Bücherei?
Happy and lucky you are
@@julianknsl4249 Stuttgart
man it's heaven 💙 watching from iraq ..
here in baghdad we haven't modern librarries but we have street called "almotanabi" full of books shops ,just books all the way
It's really cool to have the cafe there. I don't know how many times I've been engrossed in studying/ reading and had to drive somewhere to eat and then come back.
You have to see the library in Ulm (this actually is near Stuttgart). The library in Ulm is a huge glass pyramid. And there is also the largest church tower of the world in Ulm so it's definitely worth visiting Ulm ;)
1:12 "don't wanna... raise suspicion here"
the look on that lady's face as you're saying that lmao
I will have to visit this library when i am back in Germany. Looks amazing
That "Fancy, fancy"
Lol I started to sing "Fancy" from TWICE hahaha
Hi Sam. Did you know, that the Stuttgart TV tower was the first one ever build in the world?
Andreas Kohlmann Yup! :)
and in a few years you can see the most beautiful and most modern designed train station in the world (Stuttgart 21)
+Mister M In a few years.... Very optimistic my friend :) But at least the construction already began....
+Andreas Kohlmann No it was the Western TV Tower in Berlin wich also broadcasted the 1936 Olympics in Berlin LIVE (First public viewing as many bars and cafes only had a expensive TV). The Berlin TV Tower was even the worlds first TV tower with the Paul Nipkow TV as the worlds 1st TV channel. 8 Months later the BBC started as second TV station.

The Stuttgart tower was the first one of its kind of one large concrete pole. The Berlin "Funkturm" is a steel construction like the Paris Eiffe Tower.
Kind of embarrassing to be born in the region, live in Stuttgart for 4 years now and see inside the library because of your video....will do it this week :-)
My jaw is just dropping at the sight of this library. SO MANY BOOKS! SO BEAUTIFUL!
The library is unbelievable!
That looks very cool. I'd never heard of the board games either. Love the fountain!
Hey Sam! What day did you get back? Some of the stairs make parts of this library look a bit like an Escher painting!
Rainy Day Got back on the 25th :D And yup, I've gotten that comment before! Especially on the picture I took of it. :)
Random Girl waving to the camera. 4:40
I visited the Stuttgart library when I was in Stuttgart earlier this year. But I couldn‘t/didn‘t find the open part of the library above the blue square 🤔 Consequently I found the library building to have a lot of wasted space.
Before half an hour I thought of you and when you would make a new video. And suddenly 4 videos were in the subscription box. :)
You have to visit the library of the TU in Munich! It has a slide inside of it! :D
There's a funny story about that little fountain in the middle: When opening, it used to be as white as the surrounding floor, but people didn't see it early enough and stepped right in while looking at the ceiling.
So they had to make it more visible.
I'm planning on going to Leipzig. They have the national library there. Unfortunately it's also shared with Frankfurt, so I might not get all the books I want.
haha I know I am watching this kind of late but I really like your videos. I am from Germany, also Stuttgart, and I currently live in America. I love how you see Germany, nice to see everything in a different view :) I miss Stuttgart by the way whenever I watch your videos.
well - that train line is still being extended. :D
don't feel bad, i've lived in the stuttgart area my whole life (much longer than this library, which opened in 2011) and haven't been to this library once.
thank you to your series Life in Germany, I can have an insight about Germany. I'm about to study there and your clips have triggered my curiosity about this country.
You can rent boardgames, dvds and computergames and every library in germany. That's pretty normal here
Haha how cool is that! I just came across your channel and then I saw this.. I spent quite some time in that library but I never realized that there was a bar or that you could even get up to the roof. It's so cool to see "foreigners" (sorry if that sounds rude) checking out everything and being interested while I was always like "Whatever, I'll just grab those books and leave" :D
3:46 love your voice it remind me something but however great creativity in that building.
Thats nice and all.. but have you been in the Gasteig in Munich?
Way cooler imo.
You can rent Bordgames in nearly every library where I live. (Vorarlberg, Austria)
I have to see it.. if I'm ever in Stuttgart.
My hometown 🙏🏼 I love this library so much, and after going there I always go to Milaneo to grab me some food at Immer Grün 😍
nice video :) guess i'll have to check out the library next time i'm in stuttgart.
aahhhhh I don't like the new main library. it's so sterile (hospital/modern art museum feeling) and not really inviting you to stay for hours. I think the old place was so much nicer. (I mean the king used to live there?!) I like going to the smaller libraries (Stadtteilbücherei) more. they are just more gemütlich ;-) And Sam have you been to the Stuttgart Bücherbus?? they wanted to get rid of them but many people fought for them to stay. (my mum was one of them and I look like her so the driver of ours is my fan 😂😂😂😂😂) if not definitely check them out cause a library in a bus that comes to smaller parts of the city is a super nice thing!
i think i've seen cooler libraries in other parts of the world. i think the UK might have the nicest looking.
You should visit Heidelberg. It´s "near" to Stuttgart and such a beautiful city!
Wow that's some fancy library! Think I have to go to Stuttgart sometime soon! Btw, great videos, keep up the good work :)
Wow cool library oOo how can it be that I'm german and i've never heard about this library before ? thx for showing ^^
I did actually see this in a World's Coolest Libraries article!
Thug Life in Germany :D
Wooow... so cool!
I like this library. it's amazing!
Amazing!!
The TV Tour in Stuttgart is the first one in the world ! 😁
The Restaurant is not closed, just the roof o thougt :S
SamWaltonMan You should have taken a video of how to rent a book! I think it's also "fancy"! Well done on this secret shoot.
Omg I definitely have to go there someday
OMG, thats the place where I go to study for class test. :D
haha i live close to stuttgart. it's so intresting to hear what people think about germany:D
I have to go there!
😍favourite place 📚
Have you ever considered doing asmr? Your whisper voice has potential.
awesome!
Christ. Malls. Thank you america.
It's like the real perfectionist heaven!
I'm a book worm! I usually get horticulture, and cook books. This place looks so amazing! I love the library. Can you recommend me some books to read in German? I've been studing German language. I need some practice. Haven't found many tutors online available. I want to study for my masters degree in Germany. : ) Some movie recommendations would also be appreciated. I need to hear it more to learn it a bit faster. I dislike sci-fi books and movies. It does not interest me. Thanks for sharing Sam! ~Peace
Actually, being able to rent games isn't that uncommon here.
I live in a pretty rural area, close to a town with less than ten thousand citizens, Altenkirchen. In the library of Altenkirchen, you can rent all kinds of media- Books, Comics, Old Newspaper Collections, DVDs, Board Games and, for a while now, video games. Primarily Nintendo DS games.
We have english books?
the train station has a Mercedes Benz Logo!!!!
it was pretty cool
So there are Board Games in nearly every German libary!
i was there just yesterday
too :)
Just looking for myself in the background..
Seems like a lot of space not devoted to library materials.
It looks like gallery
+SamWaltonMan Thanks for presenting me some interesting locations in the country I'm living where I haven't been yet. I wish You successful studies in Germany and I hope You can manage to travel to some other regions here and show us Your view on them.
4:42 She was cute tho... U must've noticed... lol
I need ABSTRACT ALGEBRA. by CHARLES ZIMMER.......
Available or not
everything is in squares in there!
Such a cool tour! I just did a vlog of the same library (thought I'd be unique though, haha) if you want to check it out. I love it there :)
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM FFFFFEEEEENNNNCY SCHMEEEENCY ^^ made me smile ^^
the poor souls who have to clean it
Ok guys lets desing the new library for our city. Where are the templates. Ahh they are all gone bcz the last fire, boss.

Just a square.
Just a square? Ok then let's use that one.

Very nice but they've wasted an incredible amount of space.
YESSSSSSSSSSSX
I'm going to the New York Public Library in the City, yes this makes me better than you.
did you go on the roof?
no this is the worst library, it looks like a jail.
get yourself informed about "they are creating some new train lines" ^^ ..... search for stuttgart 21 in case you have not heard of that stupidity ^^
I hate long entros. Edit, edit, edit.
Не комфортно
Und das soll alles kaputt gemacht werden, heul
