  • Kaskasapakte is a mighty mountain in Lapland, northern Sweden. It has inspired composer Fredrik Hagstedt when he saw the images of it by photographer Claes Grundsten. This is a music slide-show dedicated to this mountain.
    Claes Grundsten and Fredrik Hagstedt now starts a collaboration for creating a complete work of new composed music coordinated to images about different themes of the mountains in Lapland. Claes Grundsten choose from his rich library of pictures and Fredrik Hagstedt compose inspired by the pictures. Both visual impact and underlying emotions are benchmarks for the music.
    Claes Grundsten is one of the foremost nature photographers in Sweden. Through countless articles and many books about mountains, National Parks and trekking all over the Earth he is well known to many people. For the books he has received several scholarships and prizes, not at least Pandaprize from WWF and the Swedish Publishing-prize, and some books have been shortlisted in international book competitions. Several are translated to English and other foreign languages and one of his picture from Sarek is printed on the new Swedish bank-note for 1000 SEK. Claes gives many lectures and is one of the best connoisseur of Lapland Mountains.
    Fredrik Hagstedt is a composer who has created many compositions for orchestra, vocals and chamber musics. His foremost propulsion is giving people a tool for better listning through his music and work-shops about listening. His inspiration comes from the experiences he has in the forest, by the sea and in the mountains. His music has been performed by many ensembles and orchestra. A long-running cooperation with Duo Gelland has resultated in four extensive compositions for two violins, and two are recorded on a portrait-Cd Sinfonia per duo violini, that got very good reviews in Gramophone and Fanfare Magazine.
