My grandma passed away a few years ago. She had Alzheimer's and eventually stopped talking for the most part, but she always loved this song. When I heard the first notes of this song in Moon Knight it almost brought me to tears because it was so unexpected, but it also reminded me of the love and all the time I had with my grandma. So thank you Engelbert Humperdinck for giving me a way to carry a piece of her with me, even in the places I least expect to find one. :)

Today, I heard the news and found out my uncle died while he was in the province. He was a big fan of Engelbert.
He used to play his songs on the radio for hours and hours til the radio has no more batteries.
A month before he died, we met at the reunion & made me play this song on my guitar. It took a lot of tries, but we perfected it. My uncles and my father drank some beer to celebrate the reunion. He shouted for my name and told me to play this song for them. I did and I can see the joy in his eyes. That was the last time I saw him.

I love how the melody and presentation are anthemic, confident, and clear but the topic is sadness and heartbreak. Makes me feel like someone could just gladly shout out "I'm depressed!" or something. This is how a real Chad handles sadness

I knew I somehow recognized this song when I heard it on Moon Knight. It took a while but it finally hit me: this was my Grandpa's favorite song. I heard it probably a hundred times while he was doing yard work, working on his car, and cleaning his guns. I miss that man so much, thanks for reminding me of him.
