It’s not 254x. It’s 1254x. But it’s a bought bonus. So a more legitimate moan would be “it’s only 2.5x”. And to that I’d have a little bit of sympathy that it’s clearly not the type of gambling that you enjoy. But it’s still gambling and it’s still exciting. It’s a €500 bet with a low chance of a zero return, a good chance of a 75% - 150% return and a small chance of a something huge in comparison to the bet itself. And these Bonus Buys are comparable to the natural bonuses that people would land on Elk games. It’s not impossible to get a 1250x.
I find it exciting. I’d feel the blood pumping if I did a €500 hand on Blackjack and I consider these Bonus Buys to feel similar.

I disagree. The whole point of slots is to offer entertainment.
Gambling industry offers up loads of different entertainment options, with different levels of jeopardy and expectation of outcome. It’s not as if we exclusively do bonus buys here. It probably makes up less than 20% of the content on the channel. Plenty of people enjoy Blackjack, and that is mostly doubling or losing completely. As I’ve said elsewhere, it also offers a look at bonuses that can be achieved through base game play, and plenty of people want to see it. Doesn’t really matter to me if I’ve only made 2.5x my bet here. The overall RTP is similar to the base game so it’s not as if one is more of a “clever choice”. Just allows players to shape their experience more.

Just like with SpinLife and their amazing max win that was nothing more than 25x the stake on a slot so volatile you’re guaranteed to get a “max win” regularly if you invest enough in buying the bonus.
Im not sure how I feel about this. Like you said Will, the reality is it is basically a 2.5x hit. A super bonus and you do get a good chance of over 50% return but there is a real risk of getting less than that too. Is it worth it ? Im not so sure, its comparable to a blackjack hand with the majority of money on side bets, with a chance of hitting a straight flush i.e huge win. I mean, it’s no more or less worth it than playing the base game. They’re both on similar RTPs. The overall long term expectation is still a loss. You’re just choosing the experience. I think it’s fun!
