I totally understand. I was diagnosed with ovarian failure at 32. I had gone through infertility treatments to have our first two children, and had a doctor tell me at 32 that egg donor or adoption was the only option. We looked at egg donors, but but I realized I already had the chance to carry 2 children at that point. We ended up adopting a daughter from China and that turn in our life has been the biggest blessing ever. She is now graduating from her masters program in data science, and I I am so fortunate to be her mom. I am so happy for you, Leighann. I have been a subscriber of yours since the very, very beginning. I love Grant for you, and am so happy your life has led you to surrogacy. Thank you for sharing.

How wonderful! I’m so happy for you. As a European, it’s crazy to me, that Alabama now basically prevents people like you from experiencing the happiest time of their lives and growing a family.
I'm European too and in my country surrogacy is forbidden by law. But done in a way like this it is amazing and I'm sad that our couples need to do this abroad, which is another level of stress by itself.
@@kvacka Same in my country, though IVF is not forbidden, just surrogacy. In contrast, Alabama outlawed IVF, too.

As someone struggling with infertility, your openness helps me so much. I told my husband one day- i dont care if im pregnant or if a baby is handed to me, i dont feel like i need it for my baby to be mine. Grant and my sweet husband seem to have the same mindset. My husband is there with me for every appointment, every tear, all the anxiety, being told we may not have children, all of it. And he's been my rock. Men like that are a blessing, and im so happy you have that. Im also so happy youre having another baby. Lucy is the best big sissy, you guys are the best parents.

Surrogacy is really controversial, and unfortunately there are people who troll those who use them.
Leighann you made the right choice!! I'm an autoimmune sister. I have RA and was diagnosed at 20years old. My first child I went into remission and after birth it came back. It wasn't so bad. Second child I also went into remission but, it came back twice as bad. So, at the age of 40 I became fully disabled. You have to do what is best for you and your body. Prayers and blessing to you and your family. Congratulations!!

I've never know anyone personally to have a surrogate pregnancy, but my hope is that this video potentially opened up that idea to someone who needs to hear it, just like your rheumatologist did for you. Surrogacy is just as big of a blessing and miracle as carrying a baby. Congrats to you and your family!

As someone with autoimmune disease MS. I totally get it. My MS got a lot worse after having my second baby. So happy you can expand your family and still be healthy for lucy 😊 Us autoimmune moms have tough days but we make it work!!
