  • As we always say the best comes from the west, today we are going to know whether the best really comes from the west.
    Takoradi is a beautiful city in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolitan assembly and the capital of the Western region of Ghana.
    The town has so many amazing things to boast of as it is also blessed with an overhead bridge, the first of it kind in the region which is still under construction. We are going to show you aerial videos of some selected areas of the town.

    Also, an Ahanta town, it was the site of Dutch Fort Witsen (in 1665) and has an important deep water seaport, Ghana’s first, built in 1928.
    During World war 2, Takoradi was an important staging point for British aircraft destined for Egypt.
    It is an industrial and commercial center with a population of
    The industries which can be found here are timber, cocoa processing, plywood, ship building, rubber production and lastly crude oil.
    The fundamental occupation of the people is fishing. It was combined to Sekondi in 1946 thereby becoming Sekondi-Takoradi which is termed as the twin city.
    But currently it is named the oil city of Ghana (unofficially)

    Takoradi houses the harbor and has timber, energy and technology industries. Over the years it has attracted a good number of investors, including miners, as the city is close to the mining towns in the western part of Ghana.
    Takoradi has a beach which many are found at the west of the town. The town has a popular street canival which is popular to tourists .
    The town also has a tropical Savana climate.
    The town is blessed with the Gyandu park for sports activities with the Region having the famous Essipong stadium.

    Nice one. But please label your locations, for people unfamiliar with Takoradi. Let's know where's Monkey hill, the harbour, the statue, etc.

      In my opinion I don't think tadi should be invested as tourism place apart from the sea there's nothing for tourist to see or visit.
