The new building wasn't that WEAK nor OLD for me, it has a different style unlike to other entertainment building. For sure that NEW BUILDING has a meaning too, only YG knows it. I RESPECT how YGE keep their PRIVACY from public, it is really a must to have a PRIVACY. That's what makes YGE unique from other entertainment, because everything they create and build has a lot of hidden meaning. And doesn't NEED to make it public just to make it popular as long as you love your platform and work everyone will notice it effortless. Wish YGE will rise again, they're the reason why I Love Korean Culture because of BOYS OVER FLOWER casts, BIG BANG, 2NE1, BLACKPINK and etc... I watched K-drama when BOYS OVER FLOWER hits in Southeast Asia since 2000+, and most of YGE ARTISTS are famous WORLDWIDE. Thanks for your REVIEW about YGE 😉

YG artists really set my standards so high that make me can not stan any group from the other company anymore.

The new building represents how YG Entertainment progresses as a company with the help of their artists and employees from the beginning up to now. They started in a small building, to that current YG building to the new one. From 1st gen like Jinusean, to 4th gen like Treasure. As a V.I.P, it made my heart happy that you imagine seeing T.O.P on that building. You could have mentioned GD or BLACKPINK but you mentioned T.O.P (who has great taste in arts and architectural stuff too). I can't wait for that building to be pen and see YG artists do their new songs/projects there (I heard that YHS said that BIGBANG will make their come back album in that studio of that building before anyone else). I hope for BIGBANG's come back soon.

My best friend told me that we should go to sk in future and I told her ok but I need 2 days for myself and she was like why? I said I’m going to stand in front of YG building, if I stand there for 2 days I’ll get to see atleast 1 artist from YG or hi tech or crazy like anyone from YG

Wow, finally, someone did an archi-talk about YGE new building. And I'm totally agree with you! I love the early design! It goes smoother with the old one than the current design. The two would look elegan standing side by side. But we'll it's already built so let's wait for the interior cause it must be so dynamic and crazy!

Wow the building is really unique, i like how they chose a music box design for their building cause it shows that they are a conpany that works with music and art, most big labels has a standard company building design like the same commong building. I like how everything in YG is quality, you can even see it by looking at the exterior of their building, it has some architectural value in it.
I totally agree. YG knows how to show off their creativity and artistic sense not only in music but also in all fields. Even in architecture. That's why I like YG.
This building is so pretty and different. I love how YG does what they do instead of doing what the public will want, because most of the times their originality goes on another level. I have to say that I am going to miss the iconic dance practice room where we have seen all the dance practices of yg artists, but still I am very intrigued for the new ones.

I am definitely a YG Stan, I got into KPOP and Korea in General when Big Bang became so much popular back in 2007-2008 in my country. Everyone used to know them, I am from Northeast India and I have been loving Big Bang and Second generation groups like SUJU and SNSD, 2ne1, Shinee, 2 PM and many more artists, I really don't have any idea about this third generation groups that much because there are lots of groups now I think. I do enjoy the old videos and it makes me feel good. Hoping for Big Bang to announce a concert I will definitely go and watch it for sure. 😁😁

I agree that there are issues with them related to Seungri but considering TOP and G Dragon it wasn't really a Big scandal, even in my hometown people take marijuana freely and no one says nothing about it. We used to have Marijuana during Shivratri, Shivratri is an festival celebrated for Lord Shiva, Lord Shiva is a God from Hindu mythology and I don't think Smoking Marijuana could be that Big deal. Anyways that's ur Law I can't say more about it, but I really think that You Koreans should be very proud of Big Bang. the old one has an industrial style and the new one has a futuristic style. but for yg ent. as an entertainment agency office i prefer the old one, it's match yg's characteristic more. but sure yg ent want to show off their money and asset, so the new building has a point. also i feel like they want to rebranding their name somehow.

I saw the latest view of the building at night and they put yellow lights on the front outline of the building. It looks so cool. I think it would look more beautiful once it's finished. I heard all subsidiaries of YG will transfer their office there including their actors, models, theblacklabel, etc. I think their security will be even more tightened.

2 points were given purely from the perspective of a architectural view. Besides, we didn't see the inside, so it was just a rough grade, so I hope you don't mind. I like YG and the buildings of YG. Since I saw the project for this I always had one question.
Will they still use the old building?
What makes me believe the will is the fact that all the projects show both the new and old buildings together, and they build the new on right next to the old one. So it looks like they want to use both. This would feel like the new building is like and expansion (tho a separated one)
They'll still use it but for different purpose since all the Artists will move in to the other building they can make the old building something like an office for their workers since YG family is getting bigger and bigger now
Yes they will continue to used the old building lots of department and subsidiary are settle in different place so once they move to the new building all the department and subsidiary will come together
As 'Girl inthezone' and 'Mileni Lalinani' already answered, I know they use both buildings. Instead, it is expected to be used separately.

They say the old building will be used as the training center now. So I guess the current training center (being a rented building) will close soon.

Maybe the concepts is the journey of yg company carrier. So they make the new building more luxury than the old one. The curved definitely adopt the old building, also the solid massive block is the same, i'm pretty sure this building dominated the area right? This building well design and i feel amazed by the curve, it's hard to make perfect curve in building like that,especially window glass curved. Wow just wow, i bet the construction cost super expensive. Look how the window glass also become the sunroof, brilliant idea. I bet the interior will be futuristic with of course a lot of solid curved ornament, also the natural lighting and air circulation also well prepared looking by the exterior. This is definitely an iconic building

Especially the expression "journey of yg company" really hit me. As I mentioned in the video, the new building is right next to the old building, so we can feel the growth of YG. And if the old building was a cold feeling of exposed concrete, the elegant curves of the new building are much smoother and future-oriented.

As an architect I kinda agree with what you said. Interest is different from capabality. hehe. As for the view of the building from the bridge maybe it's the building's rear that's why they didn't put much thought about its aesthetic but it would been nice if they tried to be consistent with the overall theme and applied from every angle in that way that building design will be coherent. It is still a great design! We've got to gve it to the architects, designers, engineers and builders that dedicated their time and effort into making this building. I'm telling you it is not an easy job. Props to them!

Anyway, we are CZcamsrs consisting of three Korean architects, and our content is to visit buildings of architectural value and see and review them. By the way, we are trying to deal with modern architecture and buildings after 2000. So, I'm not sure if we'll be dealing with the "historical building" you mentioned. But if we have a chance, we will try to deal with Korean historical buildings. I'd appreciate it if you could leave your opinion then. Thank you!
