For Slaf, you need to see his play beyond the numbers and how often he contributes to goals despite not having a point. Yes he was a first-overall pick, but that was supposed to be Shane Wright (look where he is now). That was not a strong year, but I'm sure he will be the best pick for that year with time.

You should have also mentioned how Juraj helped another 2 goals against Stars - the Harris goal and the tick-tack goal, where he was the player who kept the puck in the zone and found Suzuki. And he has a massive effect on many plays some even in the D zone. He is and has been good ever since I remember him, which is for years now (Im a slovakian and I have always loved and followed ice hockey and especially our slovak prospects and players). I was always "defending" Juraj against the haters, and although I cannot predict whether he will be consistently good (without a weaker set of games), like any players could get, I know he is the real deal and a great choice for Canadiens.

he wasnt picked because he scored a goal per game at the Olympics, he was drafted first because how dominant and disruptive he was. But casuals who can only "analyze" hockey by tracking points may never understand that, even tho STILL the majority of his games played he played with AHL level players, if that... You cant just hide behind being "passionate fanbase", some of Habs fans are just toxic assholes. He already is looking like the most dominant player on the roster and he is nowhere near his full potential/ prime

About Matheson...Kent Hugues when we first get him described him in a very interesting way. Being his former agent, there might be bias but the way he describe how he was suppose to developed, his archetype was suppose to be Duncan Keith. The Panthers when they got him, seemed to want to develop him into more of a defensive 2 way defenseman, which was kinda crazy since his year at Boston college he was mostly offensive in nature. He seems to have open his game a lot since he moved to Pittsburgh and i kinda see the similarities with Keith in his play. His problem is that he learn to open a little too much his game and wants mostly to score, which is not bad but he should learn to use his other tool a little better. He's not a top 2 but a top 4, but some games...you almost have one like Keith ! I don't understand much the hate, honestly until Hutson, Mailloux, Reinbacher or Trudeau move up, he's our best offensive defenseman by far !

I dont understand why Matheson is hated on though. 25+ minutes a night makes room for the most mistakes. He was a middle pairing guy in Pittsburgh and the transition to a #1 was instant. And yeah. His defense has taken a hit. But look at his points people! Tied for #11 in the league for points by a defenseman and is ahead of guys like Fox, Letang Carlson, Karlsson, in points! Very elite offensive company and he's ahead of all of them!

a powerfoward role is to make the first play for the third assists or secondary assists. to limit others and to take as much placce as possible. slaf is doing a fantastic job doing so. if he can get primary assists and goals more often we have a gem. I want slaf to become a Nathan Horton . someday maybe .

You made a funny mistake that made think of a name for that line: The Suzie's coffee line. So, some defenseman will get one freash serve. Like that tik-tak-toe goal of Caufield 🙂. Let me know what's your thoughts on that.

Lul imagine habs being actualy good😂 Don't get me wrong I been. Habs fan for couple of decades and I can tell believing in this organisation to be at the top tier teams in NHL is a bummer. Good luck with that

ROFL ! you're kidding hey! They run out of energy by the 3rd period and normally get owned even if they start the 3rd in the lead which is not often. The trio is good if it goes to shootout.
