    I see this exact speaker at Walmart at $99. But they rebranded it as the JVC Rover. Same shape, buttons, grill, everything.

    Got this at a pawn shop for $60 and the battery lasted an hour and the guitar input was being spotty but aux input works fine, might have been the amp I connected it to for the guitar.

    I was considering buying this speaker, it is on sale at a store just down the street from me.
    This model has features very close to what I've been looking for.
    However, I have read quite a few bad reviews on it.
    It seems the #1 complaint is that the battery only lasts about a month, and dies.
    So while the speaker may work well the first few times you use it, you're not going to get any longtime use out of it.
    Has anyone used this speaker over a long period of time, and it still works?

      @officialjman22  Před 6 lety +3

      I've had this speaker for probably a year now, used it in the rain, used it in the shower (yes, actually in the shower), it fell off the back of a gator going down a gravel road and it rolled into the ditch, took awhile to find it but still works perfectly to this day. I don't believe the battery has changed since the day I bought it.

      Okay thanks for the quick reply and feedback.
      How is the volume at 100 feet away?

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 6 lety +1

      It's good if the speaker is facing towards you, if you listen to more bass heavy stuff then it's not as loud further away but you kinda gotta expect that from any portable speaker.

    • @ksmackvolleyball
      @ksmackvolleyball Před 6 lety +1

      My use for it would be to provide background music for outdoor events.
      As long as everyone can hear it, that's all I expect and want.
      Its cool that it actually comes with a microphone for announcements.
      My main worry is that it is going to die after a few uses.
      I've read a large number of bad reviews that really has me worried.
      I don't want to buy something that I'll use 3 times and then have to throw away.
      That's why I'm looking for some positive feedback on this model.

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 6 lety +1

      I've used this speaker so much and the battery last me a month on one charge, maybe that's what the reviews mean? But I'm surprised how well the speaker has held up and that I haven't blown it.

    Which one is better in terms of sound quality and bass; Monster Nomad or Nyne Bass???

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 5 lety +1

      I haven't checked out Nyne bass, but this Monster is great. Little fun fact, Monster used to make beats products. This Nomad is bulky but it definitely has a good overall balance between sound quality, bass, and battery life. Thanks for checking this out!

    USB 2.0 and 2amp power from a USB is not the same thing. USB 2.0 would refer to the version of the USB protocol if it says 2 amps. That is the amount of power that the USB outputs for charging devices.

      You are right. Just realized what I actually said and this has a 2A usb.

    I love mine. I agree the red led is a bad choice for visibility. I have not been able to get my battery to charge , at all. Brand new. Won't charge. I left it plugged in overnight. Power off. Tried again, power on. Same result . Any ideas ? I'm guessing it's a defective battery.??

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 3 lety +2

      Nope, I still have this speaker and use it often! It does take a few hours to charge but I haven't noticed anything unusual over the time.

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 2 lety

      @@Mr.Beastforpresident I do have a JBL charge 4, and a set of Ion PA max speakers.
      The jbl is great because of its easy portability and the fact it has a common USB-C charger.
      The Ion Total PA Max is also a great speaker but much larger, needs to be plugged into a 120V source, more geared for DJs, or bigger entertainment purposes.

    can you use mic for this?

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes you can! There's a separate 3.5mm hook up for a mic/guitar, which is also controlled by a separate volume knob. The speaker also came with an adapter to go from the larger plug down to the 3.5mm.

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 7 lety +1

      I'm not sure on the actual amount of time, but it's not bad at all. I use it pretty often and only have to charge it like once to twice a month. I can try logging the hours I use it until I have to recharge if you're really determined to find a answer.

      how is the sound does it get loud some reviews say it dont have great sound or bass ect and what about the mids or highs

    • @officialjman22
      @officialjman22  Před 7 lety +3

      It does get reasonably loud, I would have to say this speaker does have a nicer low end sound (bass) compared to other speakers and a nice mid range. I have had it side by side with other speakers and this one tends to not go as loud but will blow them away in the low end of sound. In an average sized room this sounds great and has been great to use at bonfires.
