Point Cartwright, Sunshine Coast Queensland, beautiful picnic/swimming spot for family, Walking 4K

Point Cartwright is over the Mooloolah River from Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. Great picnic area for parties or BBQ and swimming in canal. Surf side of Point Cartwright is unpatrolled by lifeguard. walking, jogging or cycling, it has pathway catering for your circumstances. it is also wheelchair friendly. there is electric BBQ's in park. Like all our bbq's on The Sunshine Coast, they are free to use as is the case with most council bbq's in Australia. The surf side is dog friendly on leach. Are there a lot of sharks?

Hi Archie, I don't recall a shark attack on the Sunshine Coast at all. Shark attacks do happen around Australia as in most countries. Most of our patrolled beaches are shark netted and Lifeguards are trained and stationed as lookouts for Swimmers who need help and are constantly observing for sharks. The ocean is their territory, so they are always there. We are always very confident when swimming at our patrolled beaches. Obviously, you take more risk swimming away from patrolled areas. Cheers
