  • Let's take a look at what I put in my Altoids Tin Fire Kit. This handy little container full of fiery goodness could save your life in an emergency. Its small size and light weight let you carry it with you just about anywhere, and a handy belt pouch allows you easy access right when you need it. There are many Altoids tin survival kit videos out there, but this one that focuses on making fire could be a big help.

Having a flint and steel fire kit with jute and charcloth for about 30 years now in an altoids tin, this is a great kit. This small tin fire kit has been around for at least 300 years.

What about dipping the Jute in Wax before packing it into the Kit?

Are you asking about actual flint and steel, or a ferro rod and striker?

@@jacobs.9230 Here's a video on using a flint and steel setup I did a while back. Give me a bit and I'll make one about using a ferro rod and striker. czcams.com/video/USf4pTmIcT0/video.html
