Honestly... I can't wait to install these because they'll look much better than the strip lights you see on amazon... Kinda makes me mad that the truck comes with the holes and everything, but the lights can't come stock LOL
Thank you very much I just did this. Very informative video. Both of my lights seem to be the same light, rather than one left and one right. The plugs are on the same side of both lights. Is this normal?
I bought a kit off eBay, it came with a 6 pin plug. My 18 Silverado's has a 8 pin connector under the dummy plug. That was on the far inside (next to spare tire) spot. All the rest of the spots are taken... to confirm, you are removing a plug WITH WIRES to install the power for the bed lights?
Thank you, and yes in combination with the overhead light attached to the third brake light they are nice and bright and light up the whole bed perfectly.
You mentioned that the "third brake light" - bed light will need to be switched to LED. Is that required? possibly to lower the voltage required for all three lights or just to have not have a mix of incandescent and LEDs.
I've added my kit but my rear cargo light will not turn on. the light on the switch will not come on. Is there somewhere on the truck or in the DIC that I need this switch to be turned on? I bought the truck used recently so I'm not the first owner. I opened up the dash and checked the wiring to the panel of switches and everything seems ok. I check the fuse and its ok. When I turn on the ignition and then plug the panel of switches back in, the light on the switch comes on and the cargo light and mirror lights come on for about 30 seconds. then everything goes out and never comes back on. this is driving my crazy. I don't understand why the switch is not working. Is there a trick with the switch that need to learn? This doesn''t make any sense to me. Can you help? 2018 silverado 2500 hd.
@@jeffreyjohnson5453 yes, I had to replace that bank of switches and now everything works like it should. When I had opened up the dash before I had noticed some liquid on the row of switches but thought it was just some sort of cleaning solution. Turns out whatever it was damaged the switches and three of the four switches didn’t work. Ordered a new bank of switches and now it all works.
Frost7092 I just switched out one damaged bed for an undamaged bed with a light kit that came with the bed. Any idea how to hook up the lights to the truck? Installer said I needed a connector or "T" Not sure. Thx

Not with the way the wires are set up if you were trying to keep it oemquipment
American flag to the left of any other flag. and when hung vertically, the union should be in the upper left

No not required at all I just swapped them in my truck so they would all look the same. It’s personal preference.

Has anybody actually used this kit on a 2015 z71 chevy LT? I see some kits say 2014-2019 and some say 2016-2019 but they have the same part number?

How bright are they?
I think they are pretty bright. At least enough to light up the contents of the bed.

For my 2018 Chevy lt I went to plug in the light but the plug was blank, anyone having the same problem?
Check the opposite size of that plug harness depending on the year it could be on the opposite side.
