Taylor is a genius songwriter....
In August at 2:47 lyrics are "Remember when I pulled up and said get in the car."
In Betty at 2:47 lyrics are "She said James get in let's drive."
In Cardigan at 3:13 lyrics are "And you'd be standing on my front porch light."
In Betty at 3:13 lyrics are "Betty I'm here on your doorstep."
There are many more parallels, I'm just not able to mention it here.... But it's mind blowing how she has weaved the story and the lyrics ❤
the best one is the "i am only 17 idk anything" in betty and then cardigan "i knew everything when i was young" + "when u r young they assume you know nothing"
So glad you're continuing this Taylor music trek. Taylor is such a creative writer. That is why she gets a lot of hate because she's just "that good". Can't wait for next Taylor Sunday. Thank you. 😇
No truer words have ever been stated!!
People on twitter legit just dont bother to check her out after seeing her success and say "she's so mediocre that white girls relate to it" like HOW does that make sense I'm not even a girl her fanbase has become massively diverse, or it would never reach the popularity levels she has now.
1. I wish that he would have blown his nose off camera before this reaction.
2. He bopped his head completely off beat making it very difficult to enjoy
3. He kept speaking over the song and saying “this is awesome”. There are other words to use in the English language to refer to Taylor’s music.
Idk. I found it all too much to truly enjoy their reactions due to the behaviors mentioned above. I watched another reaction and he was sniffing throughout that entire video, too. Actually he was doing everything he did in this reaction video. I just can’t continue to watch. For me, it’s too distracting and unprofessional to continue to sniffle on a video that he’s making for people to watch. We tell our children “go get a tissue and blow your nose”. This grown man doesn’t care or understand how it sounds to us? As he’s yelling over the music “this is awesome!” 🙄🙈🤨
Fun fact-
In cardigan, the lyrics are filled with small little details about James in every verse and chorus. Signifying how Betty knew so much about James. But compared that to August, the chorus and lyrics are repetitive, like just meeting behind the mall, cancelling plans incase he calls. Just showing how litte they knew about each other cause it was just a 'summer thing'...
Taylor is genius hands down to mother indeed 😳
Taylor is genius hands down to mother indeed 😳
I love how no matter if you guys are watching kpop, rock, pop, Taylor's music, etc. You always pay attention and feel the music.
Joe is her boyfriend and wrote with Taylor some songs in this album using the name of "William Bovery" for the credits, even though - as she mentioned in the talk about the writing of "Betty" - he participed in the writing and was singing the chorus of the song while playing the piano in their house, he didn't sing for the record itself. He's an actor and they seem to have an amazing relationship.
Ps.: I love the reactions of Taylor's music, especially of this album, "Folklore" is probably my favorite album of hers, I hope you guys can continue!

shit...was
@@rileyaroha3553 well... life is funny
@@eduardauchoa8175 shit, indeed
I really love the growth Taylor shows with August. There is a song from Speak Now called Better than Revenge that is basically a diss track to the girl who "stole" Taylor's boyfriend. To be fair, Taylor was still a teenager when she wrote it and teenager's have very little life experience with handling that kind of situation. As she's grown older Taylor has expressed regret for that song, and made comments about how another girl can't steal your boyfriend unless he wants to be stolen. I just really love seeing how Taylor has grown as a person and reflected on that type of situation with more maturity.
folklore is art 😭❤
The names James, Inez (the name that spread gossip), and Betty are actually the names of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's 3 daughters, James is the firstborn, Inez 2nd, and then when Betty was born Ryan and Blake did not release her name to the public. Taylor is friends with Ryan and Blake. This song was how people found out that their daughter's name was Betty. Ryan and Blake just had their 4th baby earlier this month and they have yet to say if it is a girl or boy and have not given out the baby's name.
Fans looking into Midnights wondering if she leaked the baby's name inside her songs.
MAROON LIVELY
She also the kids God mom
@@beckhampang191 Or Daisy May.
Blake also directed the video, “ I bet you think about me”
Also, James is the voice of the little kid saying "gorgeous" at the beginning of the song Gorgeous in Reputation!
Meet me behind the mall is a play on words that could mean “meet me behind them all””
It wasn't on your home page and only on her playlist. I wanted someone to react to this trilogy for so long 😭❤ love your reactions you guys are amazing 🙌
You found it early!! We haven’t actually released it yet. This was an amazing video. We love Taylor. We have so much more coming every Sunday. Thank you for watching😎😎
I really like that the two of you are "manly enough" to listen to... AND ENJOY... some vulnerable and emotional songs!!! Swift Sundays!!! 🤘💯👏
@@shmamycakesthere is something about emotionally available men giving taylor swift a chance
SOOOOO
To clear up the confusion, Joe Alwyn, her boyfriend, wrote the song with her, but he didn't sing on the song. She sang all 3 songs, but from different perspectives. Joe wrote the song under the pseudonym William Bowery. William is his grandfather's name, who was a composer, and Bowery is Joe's favorite street in New York. He wrote it under a pseudonym as both Taylor and Joe wanted us to listen to the song and like it for what it is, without paying attention to the fact that they wrote it together, cus then it would have become more than just music, and we would've started speculating and the song itself would lose meaning.
The cross-references in the three songs are absolutely mind-blowing!
In Cardigan, which is from Betty's perspective she sings - "High heels on cobblestones", and then in Betty, which is from James' perspective she sings- "I was walking home on broken cobblestones"
which shows that Betty knew exactly what happened, and how it went down between James and Augustine.
In Cardigan, she sings- "And you'd be standin' in my front porch light" while in Betty she sings-" Will you kiss me on the porch" showing that James did come back to Betty and they met on the porch. We get information about this incident in both Betty and Cardigan, finding out the full story of both sides, and how the thing went down.
In Cardigan she sings "To kiss in cars" while again in Betty she sings, "Kissin' in my car again"
In Cardigan she sings, "Drunk under a streetlight" while in Betty she sings, "Stopped at a streetlight"
Also, she even name-drops Cardigan!
In August, which is from Augustine's perspective, she sings, "Remember when I pulled up and said, "Get in the car"" while in Betty, which is from James's perspective she sings, "Just thinking of you when she pulled up" and "She said "James, get in, let's drive"" which shows the two different aspects of what happened when James and Augustine got together briefly.
Also, in August she sings, "So much for summer love and saying "us"
'Cause you weren't mine to lose" and in Betty James says, "Slept next to her, but
I dreamt of you all summer long" proving Augustine right in the fact that he never loved herbut just with her for a Summer, in which he was always thinking about Betty. He was never Augustine's.
Betty also confirms that she knew about this scandal when she sings, "Chase two girls, lose the one" because James finally comes back to her, and she knows that she was 'the one' for him, and he was hers.
Also in Betty James says, "it was just a summer thing" and Betty confirmed that she knew that James would tire of Augustine and would start to want Betty by singing, "I knew you'd miss me once the thrill expired" (thrill of being with Augustine)
This just shows how intricate Taylor is with her writings, and what an absolute genius she is!
This was all that I could find, if anyone else finds anything new, pls do let me know!
The amount of love i have for this trilogy of songs is uncanny - incredible and the songs make me smile every single time
The chorus of Betty Was actually written by taylors boyfriend joe alwyn (actor) and the guy with the dark hair and the glasses is her friend and main Producer for the past 8 years Jack Antonoff
I love how intense you guys are with your Taylor reactions! And yes, Taylor is crazy creative & has always decided what goes in her liner notes, her videos, she designs her tours, her Easter Eggs, everything! All that on top of being a songwriting savant! Loved this guys, thank you!
The two people with her are writers and producers Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff. When she refers to “Joe” singing the fully formed chorus of Betty, she’s talking about her long term boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who Taylor changed to the pseudonym of William Bowery in the song credits.
Hope this helped 😊
you should listen to the studio versions too. The production in these three songs are immaculate
I can watch Taylor hours and hours and hours and hours….to the point I might be in danger since my exams are coming. Love your reaction 😊
Folklore and evermore are sweet lil hidden gems as in during shut down. So ppl barely noticed it like others. Need to get them heard
folklore u will forever be iconic! 🤍
Yes, she can sing, yet so many people say she can't, and more than likely they only remember her singing from her country days.
Even then, she was a Solid singer. She didn't do well on live TV Productions but her clips of safe and Sound live are so good
who said? lol whoever it is must be deaf
@@aurorasadprose13 probs the same people who said she didn't write her own songs
Joe Alwyn (the one she talked about who was singing the chorus of Betty) is her boyfriend of 6 years now.... And this is the first song they wrote together... And to get an honest reaction from the audience about the song (and not just because Taylor had written it with Joe), Joe used the pseudonym "William Bowery" here.... Now they've written even more songs together... Joe co-wrote many other songs on Folklore including Exile...
This was filmed in her home during the pandemic. Simply amazing!
Have heard these songs so much on repeat....I can connection the dots ...now
Please continue to do more Taylor reaction! I love your reaction! She really is the music industry she’s in her own league
I really like that you enjoyed the studio and the vibe these three have when playing together
All the three tracks are 🔥 really burn in to the bones
Engraving the "...I knew you leaving like a father running like water..." part of cardigan cause that part...I mean that part...
Listening to your sniffles and snorts throughout this reac😢was revisiting
Love you appreciating her music
There is another connected two songs in Evermore (sister album to folklore)
'Tis The Damn Season and Dorothea
The are from two perspectives of Dorothea and the guy from her hometown that she used to be with
great video! taylor swift is such an amazing artist i love to just see what she can think of
Don’t know if it was mentioned already - Betty, Inez, and James are all the names of Taylor’s friends kids (Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively)
Joe is Taylor’s boyfriend that she was talking about in Betty. Lol 😅😂
We love yours TS reactions
Listen with us because Folklore and evermore are a journey ❤
re: Betty. In the room with her is Jack Antonoff (music producer; in bands 'fun' and Bleachers). Also in the film is Aaron Dessner (music producer, guitarist for The National, and songwriter/musician in Big Red Machine) She was talking about Joe Alwyn making up & singing the chorus in their home. He is a professional actor; British, lives in London, and her boyfriend of about 6 years. On folklore, he wrote parts of Exile, and Betty; on Evermore, he worked on Champagne Problems, Coney Island, and Evermore.
Long pond studio is epic
Meet me behind the mall, qdoba is where i met my lover
So happy ya’ll reacting to taylor🥰listen to her singing see you again on her tour with wiz
In August you can really hear her country roots.
I fucking love this reaction 😩
She a star 🌟
love ur guys' taylor reactions omg this was so fun to watch thank you!! & just to clarify joe is actually taylor's boyfriend of almost seven years that's who she was referring to who sang the chorus of betty :)
Going a little bit deeper... Betty was written by Taylor and Joe Alwyn, her long-time boyfriend during quarantine. He is listed under the pseudonym William Bowery. He wrote another song or two with Taylor on Folklore as well.
The best taylor swift reaction so far
React Taylor Swift ft Bon Iver Exile!
❤ Queen
You want another connected storyline? Go listen to “ ‘Tis the Damn Season” and “Dorothea” off of Folklore’s sister album, Evermore.
Champagne Problems next pleaseee
Confirmation❤
You have to watch "Exile" from the Long Pond Sessions! Great job!
When you mentioned the part where you liked the guitar: ditto. Tugs at my heart strings. Its very brief, but i bet youd love to see the story about that part in the song. In the album version, that part which caught your attention is played with a violin. & if you look that up (ill come back with a link in a min...i will babble forever trying to exolain something that you can easily watch instead lol).
Also, I always fahreaking cry while watching August, the Long Pond Version...because when Jack Antonoff goes off with the guitar at the second bridge...it's just so beautiful to see how much this song moves him. Always magical to see someone so good at their craft. Then put three of them together: it hurts so good.
Here it is!

Fox 13 Tampa Bay is the channel. Type in: Musician finds out his work is on Taylor Swift's new album
Just type that in if you don't want to click the link 🙃
jack antonoff is the dark haired guy playing guitar he is Taylors partner in crime in writing and making all of her music
Joe who wrote the chorus of Betty was not there. Joe WAS Taylor’s boyfriend at the time
Omgggg can you pls do exile next?!💗
I like the produced August better, but hadnt heard the accoustic Betty with the last verse lyrics altered, so ty
The way she sings Betty here is the way she sings it on the record, no lyrics were changed at all.
@@hannahrya484 youre right. I just didnt notice the change in the last refrain from the earlier ones like i did in this acousticish performance!
Please react next to ILLICIT AFFAIRS by TSwift, some say it is Augustine's perspective. Augustine is the summer fling of James in the Folklore trilogy. The lyrics are fuego as well 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sabem muito 😆
you should react champagne problems, no body no crime and ivy, they all have interesting stories
Now that Tay and Joe are not together. I wonder if Joe is singing Betty while he’s alone. 🤔
13:50 that’s jack not Joe
Get yourself some benadryl, Bro. Sniff, Sniff, Sniff throughout the show AGAIN!
React on Exile ft. Bon Iver long pond session 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Pls reaction My tears recochet and mad woman .....maybe u will cry......tylor is a Mastermind 👑💯
And dont get to hear him yet
Also react to cardigan and willow music videos
React to folklore album!
Her boyfriend joe Alwyn is a musical genius as well helped Taylor with folklore and a little bit of her new album too his a actor he played in Harriet, The last letter from your lover, boy erased, conversations with friends, and was in Taylor swifts documentary miss Americana his very private and to himself they got together when she was away for the year she was gone the song lavender haze is about him and how much she is in love with him so they spend a lot of time together
Please react to baby monster ahyeon’s introduction video
August 'meet me behind the mall' also means 'meet me behind them all'... because they were having this secret affair!
let's talk about how far she's come in her own beliefs. from "better than revenge" to her talking about august and how she thinks that a girl trying to steal your man is in most cases not the case and that the other girl is a victim, if not as much as the girlfriend, too.
I guess I’m a cynic. I will always wonder how much Joe contributed to these songs am I the only one who thinks this?
This Trio is based on Taylor/Harry Styles and Kendal Jenner love triangle
no its entirely fictional lmao what
Kendall came way after Taylor. There were at least 4 models Harry dated before Kendall. He was not into Taylor and does not have to be. When people move on from a relationship, let them.
The sniffing from you all the way through ruined this for me
Jeremiah.... you are so handsome ..... do you hve only fan account?
1. I wish that he would have blown his nose off camera, before this reaction.
2. He bopped his head completely off beat making it very difficult to enjoy watching him
3. He kept speaking over the song and saying “this is awesome!”. There are MANY other words in the English language to use when referring to Taylor’s music.
Idk. I found it all too distracting to truly enjoy their reactions due to the behaviors mentioned above. I watched another reaction to see if this video was a fluke however he was sniffing throughout that entire video, too. Actually, tbh, he was doing everything that he did in this reaction video. I just can’t continue to watch. For me, it’s too distracting and it’s unprofessional to continue to sniffle on a video that he’s making for people to enjoy watching. We tell our little children “go get a tissue and blow your nose”. This grown man doesn’t care or understand how it sounds to us? As he’s repeatedly yelling over the music “this is AWESOME!” So you’ve said, and said and said. Find another word to express yourself and please try to expand your vocabulary. 🙏🏻🙄🙈🤨
I normally love your reactions, but the constant sniffing was revolting and extremely distracting.
