  • The perfect themed Easter treat for people that don't like chocolate. I thought I’d join in on the Easter egg fun and make some rainbow multicoloured eggs made from Candy Melts. This idea is completely unique and it makes complete sense, Candy Melts are perfect-especially for children-as they have a delicious vanilla flavour, they set at room temperature and there’s no need to temper them-also they are so colourful, what could be cooler at Easter? I decided to theme the Easter eggs to celebrate the new Angry Birds movie that hits the cinemas this May! I cannot wait to see it; it looks great. To make this for yourself you will need:
    ♡ Red Candy Melts amzn.to/1RbAXRP
    ♡ Yellow Candy Melts amzn.to/1RbB3bX
    ♡ Blue Candy Melts amzn.to/1pAZE41
    ♡ Green Candy Melts amzn.to/1pAZOZ5
    ♡ White Candy Melts amzn.to/1pAZMAE
    ♡ Black Candy Melts/dark chocolate amzn.to/1pAZSs3
    Equipment you will need:
    ♡ 4 Easter egg molds amzn.to/1pB0b5W
    ♡ Spoon or pastry brush
    ♡ Piping bags amzn.to/1pB0ihS
♡ Bowls to melt the Candy Melts
♡ Cellophane wrap to make into a gift amzn.to/1RbCw26
    ♡ Matching ribbons:
    ♡ Yellow amzn.to/1pB1x0B
    ♡ Green amzn.to/1RbD3Rt
    ♡ Red amzn.to/1RbD8Vj
    ♡ Blue amzn.to/1pB1NN0
    Method:
    1. No need to grease the molds.
    2. Melt the black Candy Melts and place into a piping bag and allow to cool slightly whilst you attach the design onto the outside of the Easter egg mold with sticky tape. Ideally, it’s best to use baking/tracing paper for your design as you can clearly see where to pipe. However, you can use a print out and trace the design on the back by placing the picture on a window and tracing.
    3. Then pipe on the black outline of the character and place into the fridge to set. You’ll need to pipe the outline on for all characters before you move onto the next step to avoid your Candy Melts setting hard.
    4. Then melt your white Candy Melts and pipe the whites of the eyes and any other white parts. Place in the fridge to set. Tip: give the molds a gentle shake to get into those hard to reach places.
    5. Then pipe the yellow for the beaks for three of the birds and immediately after cover the yellow Easter egg completely, remembering to also fill the other half of the egg. Place in the fridge to set.
    6. Then follow the same principle with the red Candy Melts, by first colouring the red cheeks of one of the birds and then proceeding to finish off the rest of the red Easter egg.
    7. Then simply finish off with the green and the blue eggs and place in the fridge to set.
    8. Once set, gently pull the mold apart until the egg pops free.
    9. Then boil a pan of water for a few minutes until the bottom of the pan becomes warm. Then empty the contents and turn upside down. Rub both halves of the egg gently against the pan until a smooth line is created and then join the two halves together. Finally run your finger around the join to smooth out any excess, then place on a cup/ramekin to completely set together-this shouldn’t take long.
    10. If you wish to give your Easter egg as a gift, you can place the egg into a presentation bag and tie with a matching ribbon. This makes the perfect Easter gift.
