I have been flying dji mini 3 pro since last December, I have already logged hundreds of flight hours and I absolutely LOVE IT! After watching this video, I am pretty convinced I need to get this pair of goggles and and Motion 2!!!
The best way to describe head tracking is this is as close as you get to real life. We all head track in every day life. You steer your car in one direction and you might look at the radio on your dash, or at your girlfriend’s pretty smile, or doing a shoulder check when changing lanes. You never change your course. We do this when we take a walk in the park. You walk forward and you might look down at your feet or at a garden. We all do head tracking in all walks of our life. Life would be boring without it. Imagine not being able to move your head freely when walking or driving. Anyone who thinks they’re not into this or won’t use this feature hasn’t given it much thought. The only time I think people are in a course lock is when they’re racing. Okay…then you don’t have the chance to look at your watch. But other than that, I like the idea of head tracking. Even with it enabled you should get used to following your course direction. That would be good practice. It’s not hard. Just follow the little circle with your eye.
It would be nice if they added a smoothness setting for the head tracking to make it more easy to make steady shots even if you're rotating the head too fast. It would even make sense for the motion 2 movements
The problem is that would make you feel dizzy while flying it. Your brain needs to see the world move exactly with your head movement, if it's delayed half a second or smoothed it's extremely disorientating. The fact they've gotten the total lag down enough to make head tracking possible is insane.
IMO, the head-tracker function is very fun and useful when you first get to a location. Scouting angles and shots before switching to a regular controller is a welcome new addition to my workflow.
just arrive today, is exactly what i was going to do! would love an option to "return here" one thing i DONT know is how easy it is to swap between controllers (and keep "bound" so dji care stays in place) - any info appreciated!

I’m on the point of taking the plunge on this whole setup and this video has pushed me even closer to parting with my HEC😂. Thank you for a very clear and informative video, surely this setup is more for fun than professional photography who would be able to use the normal controller to capture the moment and smooth the motion?
I would like to see you do this again (or anyone else how has experimented and made a video ) with motion 2.. and adjusting the curves in advanced settings, so the motion of both the drone and head-tracking is not so jerky / abrupt
Thank you so much for the cool and in-depth video. Can you please please measure the latency of the video link between the goggles 2 and the drone? It is really important for my buying decision! Is it 40ms like the avata or 150ms like the videolink to the RC remote? You can measure that with an gopro. It would be a game changer for close proximity flying.
Could you do a video on Remote landing / take off for Mini 3? I haven't found any info on this for some reason. I figured, for doing time laps sunsets for example, would be best to land to conserve power. Then take off - all remotely. Does this not make sense?

A question/ Problem. The altidute shown on the goggols screen is the altitude in relation to the take off point, right ? Is there any way to show it in relation to the point you are flying ?

Hi TDC going of track on this one and would like to ask a question, Im totally new to drones but this interest me and my question is -------- if i get a drone and my next door neighbour gets one of the same would the controllers clash if we flew together , thank you for your time on this small matter
A question with the A1, A2 and A3 license the drone has to be within VLOS (Visual line of sight), so is this headset allowed, as you are not looking directly at the drone?
Can I tilt the camera by Press and Hold the FN dial from the FPV view and then scroll up or down to tilt the camera. Release the dial to stop the camera tilt.
I'm having problems watching video from the drones sd card on a windows 10 with media player. My friend has the same set up and has the same issue. we get noting but a black screen. Our computers will play 264 codec but not 265. yesterday I had a thought, maybe the goggles are saying 264 but are actually 265? I had him change to 265 and the videos play! Going to do more testing today.
I am really waiting for them to update this to be compatible with the RC controllers which would change the game! Thanks for the detailed video as always though!

Hi Matthew, love your videos! I'm having an issue while trying to pairmy M3P with Integra and RC Motion2. The googles connect to the drone without any problems, but i cant pair the motion 2. The DJI fly app found there is and software update for the goggles, but i can instal it as it requires to have all the devices connected. no idea what to do. I have bought new goggles but the rc was bought separately (used one). Do you have any idea what to do?
I'm a newbee. Isn't this same type of control possible with the RC controller instead of the motion 2 controller? I mean having head tracking and flying in a straight line while turning your head left and right plus looking up and down causing the camera to move up and down all while flying in a straight line?
Since vertical shooting is not a possibility, do you have any recommendations for shooting in horizontal mode but then cropping the frame to a 9:16 framing for social media? I would imagine I would want to turn on grid lines and keep my subject centered, right? Also, I think Premier Pro may be able to drift the edges of the frame left and right to stabilize the image within a 9:16 frame if it's not a perfect shot. Any advice on this subject would be appreciated by anybody who has experience! Thanks!

Looks good, but it needs some serious stabilisation, it’s way too jerky ATM.

well there is a trick to make the rc work but the head track is off :/

Try to shoot in 4:3 ratio. You will probably get more space, so cropping will be better. Write here after you try it..

Yes but not with head tracking
