Alright, here’s my 2 am creativity smacking me upside the head:
When it’s your turn:
*The battlefield smells like burning buttercups

*Before you can think of anything, Kris shakes their head dismissively

*Kris isn’t afraid of you
*not any longer

*You beg Kris to stop fighting

You know, depending on the actions you’ve made throughout the story, kris could be seen as the villain or the hero. It’s interesting to think how this fight looks like from different perspectives.
Either way, no one knows you. And even if Kris isn't responsible for anything that happens, you're either an angel from above coming to bring retribution to the genocidal maniac, or a demon from below coming to bring the hero one last challenge.
Yeah, this would either be as simple as Kris separating themselves from you, or Kris taking rightful revenge for what you did, if you decide to go the murder route.
You're either the hero when you play pacifistically or you're the villain when you play evilishly.
In chapter one it was very inconsequential (i mean, defending yourself with violence against violent attackers is not being evil, it's just the logical course of action) and at worst you got everyone pissd off
But chapter 2 overshot it by a mile, considering Toby removed the whole speech thing about decisions not changing anything and such we may actually get more branching paths in the end
Altho i don't expect them to be as different as many imagine, you can't make the game transition so heavily from chapter 2 when you still have 3+ episodes ahead
I imagine that the "weird route" will be mostly brushed off similarly to how the knife scene at the end of chapter 1 was
I think Kris is actually evil because of the cutscene at the end of chapter 1
I had an idea that your Vessel could have the attributes that you gave to it in the beginning. For an example, making it's favorite flavor "sweet" would give you several healing items like cake or cookies that heal you some amount, and an added effect would be making SPARING easier by giving you more effective ACT options. Things like "sour" or "salty" could give you food that boosts your defense or TP gained, but "pain" would raise your attack when you get hit or something like that. There could be some additional cute flavor text when you heal using one of the items. Obviously the gift you give it would have an impact too, like "kindness" would increase the effectiveness of acting, "bravery" would reward you with more TP for grazing, "voice" would allow extra ACT options for talking and give actual voice lines, things like that. This is just a spitball idea so don't criticize too harshly.
tl;dr Your vessel's options in combat are changed by your choices in the beginning

I'm a REALLY huge fan of the usage of Megalo Strike Back, I'll be ecstatic if it's used in DeltaRune; the segment with THE WORLD REVOLVING is also one of my favorite parts of this cover, very nice work with this cover dude
I know right? I like to imagine that Kris’s theme would be a non-evil version of Megalo Strike Back since they’re the Deltarune universe equivalent of Chara.

@@santinafigueroa4145 more of a fusion as their design incorporates bits of both characters(charas jumper, frisk skin colour etc). Their role does seem to mimic charas more than frisk given their position within the dremmur family and their apparent close sibling bond with asriel.

To be honest I always believed from chapter 1 that the character you make at the start will come back later somehow and I really hope its gonna be something like this

The game saves all the data of the vessel you create, would be weird to toby do this if the data didn't got used later, so vessel will probably appear again.

@@marshmellowguy586 its what people call the leitmotif shared throughout some of the songs in deltarune, including The World Revolving and Big Shot. With freedom being a big part of those fights and the characters associated, calling the theme "Freedom" seemed to be pretty straightforward.

@@oneandonlygooballmekk Or an incredibly important part of the story towards the end. The freedom leitmotif plays during secret bosses, sure, but it's also everywhere in this game. Nearly every area track in Chapter 1 had it, its the credits song of both chapters, etc. The freedom letmotif is by far the most important musical piece in the game

Ngl that freedom leitmotif's really well done.
This is possibly the best fanmade deltarune theme I've heard.
I would love for the final "secret boss" to be Kris, and you can only fight them alone. It'd be such a big fucking impact, all the secret bosses being people who were being used from the shadows, and Kris just falls in line with that. We're using that vessel and Toby is aware we know it's coming into play. Eventually Kris will discard us, and we'll have to get back to them, calling it now.
I feel like Kris shouldn't be a secret boss, but a boss you will NEED to fight in the story. Basically Chapter 7's equivalent of King, Queen, and the future main bosses.
@@Deltakryzz Possibly somebody you would need to fight to get a good ending, otherwise you get a bad ending? Then again, Toby said that there would only be one ending, but who knows?

I really hope that deltarune's ending is like this. Just like sans is the twist hero of undertale , Kris would be the only hope of keeping "YOU" , the one behind the screen , from toying with everyones lives .
In a route continuing from Snowgrave, I could see it, but in playthroughs where you aren't evil, this doesn't make much sense. Then again... Kris did open a Dark Fountain. A battle with an evil Kris in the pacifist route could work out.
@@ARandomSpace I'm pretty sure deltarune is only going to have 1 ending (not 100% sure , but I think it says it on the steam page) and the game is about the futility of your actions , so I think it would make sense to have 1 ending.
@@poptartz6814 I'm thinking that the end result would be the same, but the steps to get there are different, kinda like in Snowgrave. Either way, Kris closes the fountains and helps to save the world, but if you're going Snowgrave, they'll do it without you and stop your madness. In a more Pacifistic route, there's a better chance of you and Kris teaming up or something after the fight with him.

I love the idea of the soul controlling Kris belonging to the character you created at the very beginning of Chapter One, aka: you, the player.
I'd like to imagine you somehow get seperated from Kris at some point and your friends aren't very happy with you for controlling their friend. But as the battle progresses, they realize that Kris isn't truly their friend, YOU are. How much do they really know about Kris? That's all been YOU! And it could lead to some cool moments. I like to imagine the game ending with you and the 3 heroes posing together for a picture like in Undertale.
This would be a good concept for pacifist.

if something like this ever happened, id love for the player's new puppet thing to speak as the player, saying things like "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A PERSON, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE *ME* " really tap into a sort of childlike anger, i mean imagine if you wanted to play an rpg and make decisions, but your character was trying to be their own person, this isn't their life, _its_ _your_ _game_
I can immagine depending how you play the puppet would range from "I was only trying to do what's right!" to what you said to "Why have you resisted so much? This world is just a plaything, none of your decisions matter, for it is I who decides this world's fate!!"

For the weird route, sure. But if that's normal route dialogue too then that has major 'how dare you play the game!?' vibes. Would have to dock the story major points if it was that insulting to the player who was just playing the game the way it was meant to be played. More than likely the vessel would be entirely silent like Kris on the normal route except for maybe some dialogue options with any allies the vessel has.

We don't know true intentions of Kris, their personality, maybe they're just a bullied kid, who just wants this to end, or a homicidal maniac, ust a shady person, or a misleaded kind kid. We saw them opening a dark fountain, smile at us with how usually *The Demon* stares at us at the end of genocide, but without red eyes. It could be anything.
But i kinda like it.
Toby can do the exact opposite thing, and he also said that the game will have only one ending.
The twisted sword says that it decreases "trance" in the stats menu, which is the exact same thing that the thornring increases for noelle, allowing you to control her more, so I could definitely see this happening.
That's gotta be one of the best remixes i've ever heard, i'll probably listen to this while fighting in an intense bossfight
Chills literal chills, this is a awesome theme and I hope this fight becomes canon in the later chapters(probably the 6th or 7th). Also I wonder if this fight would happen either way in a normal route, weird route, or both?
I am sure the vessel will return. I mean, Thrash Machine returned in CH 2, and the vessel is kept in the game files, it won't stay in the abyss for long.
@@suckerman7gm only issue, and I hope that this fight does happen, but the vessel is not used anywhere in chapter 2, so why have the set option for it instead of a letter chapter
I’m sure it will because it’s clear Kris doesn’t want to be controlled and they technically already had the threatening scene with the knife which could’ve been directed to the player, showing they want to retaliate. As for when it will happen, I think it will happen regardless but there will be differences in it depending on what you’ve done throughout the game

Seems like this would fittingly happen during Ch. 6 or 7. If you've taken the pacifist route, this battle doesn't happen. If you've opted for, _other methods,_ this is a super-difficult boss that isn't optional.
I'd personally prefer if this was an unavoidable fight. Kris clearly resents being controlled by the player. Maybe make it like Undyne where it's harder if you choose the Weird Route.
@@zenoblues7787 if it happened on pacifist I hope there would be a way to work with Kris. Because we were kind of forced into their body ourselves, and I would like to see what Kris is like without our control, while also being able to experience the game.

Rather than it being based on kindness or needless genocide, what if it's based on you picking options Kris would? Like not hugging anyone since Kris doesn't like hugs, or allowing Kris to say that they're not fine?

This slaps so hard, damn. The chill, mystery/fantasy building up to the drop and then going of with a not overly epic but chill enough music, and some of the 'calmer' parts... I would definitely believe if someone said this was made by Toby... if I didn't know how talented this community is and what jams they can make lol
Also battle art/edit/photoshop/idk made me think more about an idea where the main character you made, basically you, fights off Kris cuz destiny and shit, damn I would love if this happened in the game, such a good idea

I feel like this ending could vary based on what route you’re doing, but either way it ends the same. Like everything else.
In a pacifist route, Kris free’s themselves from your control and confronts you. Mostly out of fear due of being controlled by you. Despite the good deeds you’ve helped them achieve, they’re still suspicious of your control over them. I mean, who wouldn’t be? The battle is you convincing them that you truly mean no harm, and that you are just helping them achieve a better life. Eventually, you succeed; then you and Kris form a truce, perhaps even becoming friends in the process. Either way, Kris then allows you to control them with no struggle. A benefit from this is that ACT’s are more effective with Kris. Indicating that Kris is now truly on your side.
In a Weird Route, Kris free’s themselves and confronts you. Out of fear and anger from your actions. Attempting to erase you from existence. There is no possibility of sparing. As you deplete Kris’s hp, their control slowly diminishes. Giving you more strength. Once you do kill them, they’re erased. Kris is gone, their personality, character, memories, are all erased. Leaving a completely empty husk. Which the player then controls. As a benefit, your attacks do far more damage. Indicating that now with Kris gone, your capable of doing more damage without possibility of them holding back.
Both fights have different different motivations, but end the same way. You gain complete control over Kris.
This makes a lot of sense as Toby fox said there is only one ending. Every route concludes the same but the way you gain it is through your actions.
I can totally see something like this having horrifying implications in the evil route. As you pretty much steal a kids entire life and make everyone afraid of you and miserable.
While on a pacifist run you let Kris speak freely and act freely. Like a symbiotic relationship. (example when you play the piano this time it sounds clean and really good representing his trust and compliance for you)

It isn't that in pacifist you gain complete control of Kris, but that you and Kris actively work together. Kris themself help you out with ACTs.
@@MintyMoron64 you do gain complete control of Kris though? You’re completely capable of doing whatever you want with them. Even things they don’t normally like. For example, hugs, doing crap with Ralsei, and especially the snow grave route.
I don’t see any implication that Kris is suggesting things to the player.

I could see a potential Kris fight being on a timer of sorts, as they probably can’t last very long without a SOUL.
In the normal route, you’d basically be on a timer to either reconcile/negotiate with Kris and set your differences aside to face off against the final threat before they collapse (which would probably just start the fight over) whereas in the Weird Route it’s an endurance boss where Kris is WAY more resilient and determined to stop you, and you just need to tire them out so you can forcefully puppeteer their body again.

I love how the Vessel is just standing there, slightly slouching, the strings all over it and its soul showing. It's like it really is just a puppet for the player, and either knows it deserves this from Kris and doesn't want to fight, or it doesn't care enough to try. This is an understandable but unfortunate lashing out from Kris, one that was long coming for us.

This is just... AMAZING! Subarashi! I really find kind of fitting that the player's (or "You's") theme is this way, filled with motifs from The World Revolving, Megalo Strike Back and others that I sadly can't identify because my ear isn't that smart lol. But like, it makes you wonder: Which one's destiny? Player or Kris's? because so far, whenever Kris takes out his soul, he does evil things.
So... while we're the ones pulling the strings and basically sealing the dark fountains, are we _really_ the good guys? consider Snowgrave for example. Maybe that's why the Vessel's color pallet is in gray scales rather than light or just black, because we're in control of our Destiny and Deltarune's destiny.
Let me say one thing. The Player is a neutral force, a fact that not every player considers true, because in the player they only see puppeteers and homicidal maniacs, which, of course, is untrue.
Second thing. Did you ever think who could give us the opportunity to have control Deltarune's world ? I did.
I think the best part is that I could totally see something like this happening in a future chapter.

So I added this song to the playlist I sleep to and I remember being able to hear it play while I was dreaming. Basically the only part of that dream I remember is this playing during what I imagined to be a secret boss fight of all the previous secret bosses (but there’s only 2 chapters so the only bosses in my dream were Jevil, Spamton NEO, and the fan made Mike fight) But this song fit so incredibly well that I keep trying to get it to play while I’m asleep so I can have that absolutely amazing experience again.
Maybe you can make your own secret Bosses and find out how to defeat them in your dream, making it so that you can flesh out what their fights would be like?
