We discover a centuries-old factory - still the same after 3000 years!

We are on our way near Izmir and we received a tip about the largest car museum in Turkey.
Murat Özgörkey, who started collecting matchboxes in his youth and continued his interest in model cars in the 90s, later becoming a collector, and Selim Özgörkey, a rally driver who, with his passion for cars, also spent some time racing on racing circuits, was at the Key Museum in 2001. One of the important features that distinguishes the Key Museum from other examples in the world is the restoration work carried out by dedicating a lot of time and effort to the cars exhibited in the museum. Using the restoration method called "Nuts and Bolts Restoration", a car is disassembled down to the smallest screw and nut, renewed and restored to its original condition when it left the factory. This method, which is extremely expensive and requires expertise, is an indispensable restoration method for the Key Museum.
We drive on and we see that we have a screw in our tire, but that can be resolved quickly and easily in Turkey.
Then on to Nazar Köy, the place where the "evil eyes" are made of glass. We walk through the village and see the many souvenir stalls and everything seems to be factory made.
We ask around and get a tip where the old workshop is where the smooth is still shaped after an evil eye using the old 3000 year old method.

Jeetje, wat een prachtig automuseum, echt heel mooi gerestaureerd en dat Turkije zo'n mooi museum heeft, echt heel mooi, ook het interieur met auto emblemen.
Er staat voor kapitalen.
Inderdaad is een 4X4 beter op de Turkse wegen

Museum is echt heel mooi, was dik genieten. Wat de wegen betreft, de doorgaande wegen in Turkije zijn heel goed te rijden, zonder 4x4 :-) . Soms heb je wel wegen naar dorpjes waar meer gaten dan asfalt in zit, maar dat zien wij toch steeds minder..
