Punk ended up been his own worst enemy
@Solomonster Sounds Off
The keyword you said in that bit about the CM Punk/Page promo is communication, which is a lost art in not only pro wrestling but in real life in general. Whether it's the workplace, with family, etc etc communication is the key. At most jobs I've worked, I've always had a problem with people communicating back & forth with me on things whether it was in regards with what had to be done or issues with me, however there were times though with some of my old co-workers who took things too far with me to the point it had to come to blows, but not CM Punk/ "Elite" level far
VKM would be licking his chops at the opportunity to put out a Self Destruction of CM Punk network special if he were still around
I'm not saying Punk can't go back to WWE, I'm saying it would be awkward as hell, and at least for right now, completely unnecessary for them. They don't need him. Especially if he's still hurt, and definitely not in his current headspace. Give it a year. And if they still have the belts on Roman by then, sure, sign Punk. By that point it won't be the worst mistake they've made.
I think Punk returning to WWE would just be a car crash waiting to happen. If he already felt that AEWs people are to opinionated and don´t take advice i can´t think how it would work out being in the same locker room as Orton, Rollings, Reigns and Lesnar among others.
I don't think Punk will sign with WWE because of pride. If he did he'd look like a massive hypocrite to his diehard fans in my humble opinion. I could be wrong, maybe after a year of reflection things can change.
I think CM punk's wrestling days are behind him, he's a product of the past
@@WrenchLord I disagree on pride being the reason. That being because Punk still took the job at WWE Backstage, and yes it was Fox executives that wanted him but he could've turned it down. Yet he still chose to associate himself with WWE.
If it's to be believed that there was talks to try to get him back fully during his time there.
Personal I think it's whether or not Punk can put over his bitter relationship between him and Triple H to the side for business that will dictate if he wants to go to wwe.
I think yall are missing the point on Punk he can't be trusted and I believe he's a miserable person. No matter the company, he's a liability and a cancer to any locker room. Don't think so? Ask Chris Jericho
its sad this relationship couldnt have worked better, as a punk fan it feels like a lot of stuff was still left to do with him. To think this all started over of all people Colt cobana is mind blowing
The reason why promotors can't work with punk is the same as the reason why directors can't work with Edward Norton
It's shame that someone with so much talent has so much toxicity around them. Throw in pro athletes like Terrell Owens, Antonio Brown, and Kyrie Irving in that pile as well.
@@philly_sports1558 Kyrie isn't toxic. His teammates actually love him. Give actual examples of being toxic. Everyone else actually pisses off their locker room

@Ray Kyrie’s teammates love him? Then why didn’t he stay on the Celtics? Moving on.
Why in the living hell does anybody but Tony Khan have ANY say in this matter?
Tony khan is getting played by Jericho and “the elite” they tell him what to do.
Because channels like this as well as newsletter marks get one sided tell alls from the girlscouts and run with a narrative
I use to respect Solomonster but his whole approach to this situation was embarrassing, unfortunate
@@ImAdaptking almost as embarrassing as Punk's petulant and unprofessional meltdown. 🤔
But in your words: "PuNk WaS jUsT sTaNdInG uP fOr HiMsElF!!!" Which totally makes it okay and totally gives Punk a free pass to embarrass the company and handle himself like a baby. My guy, you embarrassed yourself badly last time. Think very VERY carefully about what you choose to dig your heels into because you chose you're incapable of being impartial, rational, or unbiased.
I didn't realize how legendary Punk was until Wrestlemania 37, the first show with fans in a year, and during the rain delay, the first thing you hear in the broadcast is CM Punk chants. Only Ric Flair in WCW was that level of over.
“Out am I???” -Norman Osborn voice
Jericho knows what he's doing. Look at MJF teasing a face turn. I guarantee Jericho has something to do with that so he can be the top heel and sabotage MJF.
Jericho is like Verne Gagne when he was in his 50s. Sucking the life out of younger, more over stars just to feed his own ego. What a prick
Jericho already spoiled the fact that MJF is going babyface at media scrum for no reason at all except he played politics to be the no 1 heel
I've been a CM Punk fan since his feud with Raven in ROH circa 2003. He had my favourite match ever. I'm also a fan of The Elite. This situation just sucks.
They should have just fired the Elite and kept Punk 🤷
No. Fire Punk and strip the Elite's EVP positions and let them be wrestlers only in the roster.
I love Punk but when he lied of the brawl, I said fuck this, he needs to go.
@@JoKa1013 I dont see how they add anything of value to the product. They certainly don't increase business.
If Larry got hurt two words....JOHN WICK he would have every right
I think when Punk said “Come find me in the back” he really meant “If anyone wants to fight let’s fight”. I can’t imagine him saying that and thinking after all the stuff he just that someone wouldn’t come at him sideways for it. Career suicide? It’s hard to believe someone can be dumb enough to believe that they will get away with everything he said without consequences- or maybe he is that dumb and just fumbled his career. Although I doubt WWE wouldn’t scoop him up. Let’s be real, T.K is kind of a spineless boss. HHH could handle Punk and he would be smart enough to know before bringing him in if he can handle him or not.
@7:57 Watch Out For That Falling Tree Bark Jason! LOL
I wonder how much things would have been different if he didn't injure himself by diving into the crowd like a moron. I'm sure some drama would have still happened but I don't see it boiling over the way that it did. He must have been seething over Hangman and the Elite for months and by the time he finally got healthy, all that rage and frustration just exploded like a volcano. Maybe if he was healthy and working every show, he could have been backstage and worked it out with those guys and squashed the beef. But that didn't happen and look where we are now.
The only problem me seething was Hangma’am Page with the first shoot promo. By the way at least Punk can safely take a clothesline. Moving on.
@@wilcee238 at least Hangman won't be moving on from AEW like Punk and all his toxicity hopefully will.
@@wilcee238 nah he will. That accident could happen to any talent besides Page, but Punk is way too banged up and injury prone to be still be wrestling Imho.
@Striderfan83 Punk doesn’t have to wrestle, he has buyout money. He doesn’t have that headache. Speaking of headaches how’s Hangman doing again? I haven’t seen him around lately.
You noticed that all these stories are coming from the elites camp and it’s funny how Ace Steel’s wife who was actually in the room wasn’t interviewed or asked questions in reference to this incident.
exactly. It’s crazy that so many people are still taking Dave’s word… I never heard of Punk being seen as a locker room leader until now. The aew fan base and even Jason seem to be ignorantly going along with what The Elite is feeding to the dirt sheets
Tony is just making sure that Punk gets negative publicity and backlash from the fanbase because he wants to release him and don't want WWE too eager to get him back.
@@maleeky6359 still doesn't excuse Punk's extremely unprofessional and petulant meltdown at the media scrum. That to me is the way bigger offense than the backstage brawl since he embarrassed himself, he embarrassed the roster, he embarrassed the company, he aired details that had no business being aired, he dredged up his issues with Colt Cabana unprovoked, he flipped out on the media and press, and he embarrassed Tony Khan making him look like an even bigger dope! Anybody else would have been sacked on the spot.
Punk has always had issues with accountability and repercussions for his actions. Now he is suffering the consequences for his behavior. And his cult of followers still can't grasp that.
@@DeadmanInc336 So we’re gonna forget Hangman Page shooting ok Punk on live tv? We’re gonna forget the Bucks and Meltzer spreading lies about punk having Cobanna fired? Yup, and the anti-Punk propaganda is clearly working on these Elite stans in the comments. If Punk leaves, you can expect him to be expose the Elite and the entire AEW.
Snowflakes The Elite got what they wanted getting rid of CM Punk. Now they can be the top guys in AEW and can clown around with their mud show wrestling. I can't wait for the "CM Punk" chants whenever The Elite appear in AEW.
I'm calling it right now: AEW shows will now be hijacked to some extent by CM Punk chants every time the Elite or Chris Jericho is in the ring. Or at least whenever something sucks. Punk has now somehow become a martyr in two different promotions.

Imagine believing the Meltzer side of things knowing who leaks info to him. 😂
There’s no proof that the old meat is leaking information to Meltzer or any of the other dirty sheets.
I think The Green Goblin from the mid-2002 'Spider-Man' movie said it, best:
"Out, am I?!...".
WWE doesn't need Punk, Punk doesn't need WWE. Leave well enough alone, let all sides move on - the comeback story is complete, the fans got what they wanted. Give it a few years, when all of this dies down, give him a Hall of Fame nod (if both sides are interested), and let it be.
Punk has made his mark on the industry - Top 10 on the mic, well above average in the ring, hardly the first guy to have an inflated ego, certainly won't be the last.
There's plenty in wrestling to talk about, besides this crap.
Punk seeing Nick Hauseman "get over here you little not-friends-with-Colt-Cabana Rascal!"
I always thought Hangman's promo was just a re-hash of Eddie Kingston's, so it seemed pretty innocuous at the time.
The only official story that we’ve gotten has come from the Dave Meltzer camp and we know for a fact that they are intimately involved with the young bucks and Kenny omega. I’d like to find out more about what actually happened.
Maybe Punk's camp didn't leak anything because he was told not to. While Elite's camp did nothing but leak (further proving Punk's point)
This is a prime example of how you can build a legacy, then make one fatal mistake and a legacy and career is destroyed. Well so much for the CM Punk era.
It wasn’t a mistake he went out there on the scrum with the intention of doing that
Fall of punk begins with his mma career, where he didnt had a chance against an amateur fighter with 3 years training in the best camp ever. He destroyed his legacy with it
Regardless of how Punk is, Tony doesn’t need to be taking advice from people on his active roster. The politics are just to blame as Punk’s attitude.
Just because Adam page isn’t “known” for behaving a certain way doesn’t discredit punk’s experience with him. Because punk is the most vocal it’s easy for people to assume he’s the villain.
And than CM Punk goes back to the Island of relevancy lol I couldn't resist that won't happen I'm taking a wild Guess IDK missed opportunity to make this into a storyline and The Young bucks and Kenny Omega return to make AEW even more unbearable especially with Chris Jericho's attempt at comedy.
@@carloscjr23 I Absolutely Agree he's been a joke ever since he donated to get you know who to get reelected and his wife was at the US capital on January 6th as well.

Lmao 😂 someone close to the elite ie the elite that deadpan delivery had me going Jason is a straight shooter
I somewhat agree with what The Solomonster said around 1:14-1:20.
C.M. Punk was gone from pro wrestling for 7½ years & it took a little more than 1 for him to possibly jeopardize his tenure in AEW.
4 days after the Pay-Per-View, Dave Meltzer reported on 9/8/2022 that C.M. Punk tore a muscle in his arm during his match at 'AEW All Out 2022' & would require major surgery.; It's expected the injury will keep him out of the ring for up to 8 months, I believe & with his future with AEW regardless of the injury still being unclear, that has to be a factor, as well.
At the same token, if C.M. Punk still has a rematch clause in his AEW contract for the AEW championship, what do you do as far as that goes if you're AEW & how do you put him in the equation/figurative AEW championship picture?...
I wish we had video of that melee. We need wrestlers court live streamed lol
Unfortunate how you fell for this piss poor one sided argument coming from Dave Meltzer ironically from and involving girlscouts who named a signature move after him.
I respected you for how you told the truth on all the dark sides of the ring, as well as speaking out about injustice among wrestlers and politic but you’ve earned an unsubscribe from me
Just because something is not mentioned immediately does not mean it can’t be true, Meltzer can be about as trusted as Paul Heyman when it comes to The Elite when he’s basically alienated everyone he was friends with from the 80’s,90’s, and 2000’s to side with these very same guys.
The ONLY person in that room who could have been unbiased was MJF and you chose which side to jump on despite a court investigation never happening.
Regardless of if the dog story is true or not, you’re 3 EVP’s of a company alongside 2 managers and a friend going into a locker room to confront a hostile, pissed off, and injured guy 6v1 and you get away with it because of stupid newsletters, dumb CZcamsrs, and self absorbed 50 year old men who only care about themselves trying to protect the people they like and that’s perfectly fine
I hope when this all boils over and the OTHER 90% of that roster who had dozens of story’s about Punk helping and guiding young talent comes out so this bullshit narrative y’all keep pushing about him being a cancer gets thrown in the trash.
He called out 4 immature ass kids who get hated on by Cornette so they hate on EVERYBODY Cornette likes and ironically that’s the same shit Jericho does.
He didn’t call out the locker room and say they were bums, he said those 3 guys who call themselves EVPS are fucking trash which is what they’ve been.
I would think people like you would be smarter than this, but I’ve been wrong before and it just happened.
Very unfortunate
Punk may be a draw but he ain't worth dealing with if this is how he is and you know he ain't willing to change, if wwe wasn't the way they are when punk was there something like this would happened back then, it was only a matter of time. If I'm triple h I wouldn't even look in punks direction
Actions have consequences. This is something that Punk has had a difficult time grasping throughout the years and ironically his biggest supporters have a hard time understanding this as well. And Punk paid the bigger price out of everyone involved in this debacle. Hope it was worth it because he showed his true colors in that media scrum. He validated every negative story we heard about him for so many years in less than 30 minutes! And now he's leaving professional wrestling in absolute disgrace (AGAIN).
I don't think punk gives a shit really hes bout to get paid period point blank
I would love to have seen the outcome if CM Punk was in WCW trying to attack Bill Watts or Ole Anderson instead of the Young Bucks today with AEW.
Bill Watts and Ole Anderson wouldn't have spread rumors about him to dirtsheets.
Wait the Bucks confronted him and kicked his door in and then he attacked.
If Ole or Bill watts did that then maybe he attacks 1st all the same and Ole got beat up by Blackjack Mulligan because he was talking shit by Eric Bischoff in 94.
The Solomonster: "0:22-0:29.".
Me: "That aged...".
It is now mid-2023 & C.M. Punk is back.
To make matters even better, it looks to me like "The Straight-Edge Extremist"/"The Second City Saint"/"The Second City Savior"/"The Best In The World"/"The Voice Of The Voiceless" is ready to kick some butt, take some names & put the AEW roster on notice.
I don't think you can really cast doubt because no one said anything about Punks Dog until much later, and pretty much everyone not in Punks camp wasn't speaking, and everyone who wasn't seems to already be on the Elites side. That said, I don't know if I necessarily believe it happened either.
And while I'm not surprised CM Punk gone, and I likely would have made the same choice, but the Elite coming back I think was a terrible idea. They were just as much part of this problem as anyone else in this.
It's a shame none of these guys can put thier egos aside enough to be greedy And make money off of this. All this tells me is none of these people truly care about aew because if they did. They'd act like grown men and make this work
After it happened I would have given everyone one week to cool off. Then on the next week give the elite the last 20 minutes of dynamite to tell thier side. Then the week after give punk the same thing .
I'd make punk ftrs manager. Have the bucks beat the acclaimed. Ftr beats the bucks at revolution.
Ftr and punk vs the elite for the 6 man titles at DON 2023, Punk vs Kenny at all out 2023
But as I said none of these guys can put thier fragile egos aside to do business.
i dont know this hasent been talked much about but omegas contract is up this coming year towards the beginning and there was a report that omega has turned down offers for new contract from tony, so is he planning to go back to japan or is wwe where hes headed
You might be right that he had bigger leash but this proves that he went too far for any star no matter how big
There is no coming back from this. CM Punk really blew it for good. And I can't help but feel irritated at him for wasting all that good will he built up. He really is his own worst enemy.
Even as a fan of the Elite i hope they don´t put the trios titles right back on them. Just rubs me the wrong way. Would rather see then starting the feud with Adam Cole which is still unresolved between Cole and Kenny. Sure Bobby Fish is no longer with AEW so they can´t do Undisputed Era vs. Elite but they just got the Kingdom which Adam Cole was also a part of in ROH (they even used the Adam Cole Kingdom Era music on Rampage for Taven which is sad because i like the Taven Era music more). The titles don´t need to be in that feud tbh. Let other teams chase them.
As for Punk: How many version do we have now of his side of the story? The Elite has been pretty consistent over the months how the events unfolded from their perspective. The kicking the door in apparently didn´t happen, Bucks and Kenny had one of AEWs legal team with them and in another version of Punks story Larry was held by Ace Steels which when the Elite "stormed" in.
I would be more understanding of Punk if the story about Larry getting hurt was true however i just don´t believe this part. Punk left the media scrum enraged likely already in "fight for survival" mode and was probably expecting someone to show up. Seems to me he felt threatend not because he actually was but rather because he put himself in this mindset.
CM Punk's worst enemy is Phillip Jack Brooks.
sadly for Punk, some guy that works in the WWE office was once in the same room as Colt Cabana
I love how they never interviewed Ace Steel's wife. Tell me this was actually about the truth.
Tony needs to grow a pair and stop things before they blow up
This year has been crazy
Wow! Long term sound off listener but this was terribly one sided and clearly made up your mind this was all punks fault! First time I wished there was a cohost to the show to debate with
I'm not going to sit here and blame CM punk for the whole entire thing when it's Tony Khan that's running aew so if anybody's to blame it's Tony Khan's leadership they need to be questioned because this is when the first fight that happened
All this over Colt Cabana who happen to say nothing.
All this drama can handle backstge quite. Not on screen
It’s pretty simple find the vet
That is a good point, twice Vince McMahon brought back Ultimate Warrior, and after SummerSlam 1991, Vince wasn't pleased with Warrior, but brought him back because he felt it would boost business for his company. Triple H may be looking at Punk as a way to boost business for the WWE, so might put his own personal feelings for Punk aside to bring him back.
I would not be surprised. At all. In fact I'm almost expecting Punk to be a surprise entrant in the 2023 or 2024 Rumble because of this. What happened between Punk and HHH in 2014 was NOTHING compared to what Warrior did in 1991. Warrior actually had a speaking at the college I was going to about a decade ago and he described the entire thing in detail. He physically threatened McMahon. Hit him a couple times before Hogan restrained him. Was bragging about it as well.
If punk returns to wwe, he should be a heel. It makes perfect sense.
Nah, he won't. It would cost too much. All the guys Paul brought back have been pretty affordable.
Man you can’t take Meltzer’s word on this, we all know he’s biased
CM Punk was not himself at that media scrum. He wasn't feeling very "ucey." If he can find his inner "ucey," then Tiny Khan might forgive him as is the entire AEW locker room.
Hope Larry recovered
Once is an occurrence. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is a trend. What number is Punk at right now being a discontent? Great talent, but a very "unique" personality.
I love how many Aew fans before Aew existed bashed WWE and their wrestlers for “politics” They thought their idea of a company would never have “politics” guess what Aew fangirls. This is the wrestling business.
@James Gerry Halfman Page was pretty political when he tried burying Punk kid.
Shit. McMahon worked with Hogan again AFTER Hogan testified against him in the steriod trial. If McMahon can do that, and even put it into a WWE (WWF at the time) storyline, then HHH and PUNK can easily work out their differences.
21:10 love the Zodiac reference
Wrestlers court would’ve done wonders for this situation but oh wait many of you bashed that because it was a “toxic environment”
I mean the days of banning guys from the locker rooms, making them change in hallways and shit just bc they are young talents should probs be done bc like come on dude thats such old school hazing bs. and like what they did to daniel puder? not cool. The kid did nothing wrong and wrestlers court and their politics fucked him up for what? for shooting in a shoot wrestling challenge lol.
Although I disagree with some of your opinions on the matter, as a rational adult I can understand.
Here's my thought, when punk had his pipebomb in 2011 his frustrations were felt by the fans, and it meant success for WWE. However, with AEW being so new and so loved at the time, nobody was ready for that, and that same attitude that made him successful, has now backfired on him.
I understand why he did what he did, he most likely thought it would lead to success, and it's just not the case.
As a CM Punk fan but I'm mad at Tony or the Elite I'm mad at Punk because he made it public. They're all at fault but made it public. How can any other CM Punk fan not the most mad at Punk at this point. I feel Punk let us down.
It was already public, he just said it publicly while the EVPs leaked it to the public through Meltzer, sabotaging their only draw.

CM Punk literally buried everyone up front for everyone to see and didn't hide anything. He was unashamedly trying to hurt the reputation of everyone.
What I’m trying to figure out is why are you even mad at Punk for making it public? That’s literally what he is known for. That’s his notoriety, he speaks his mind. The voice for the voiceless. I don’t like Punk, never have. But to be mad he made it public is dumb.

The story about the dog is likely because Punk knew he had to have teeth removed. Made up this scenario so AEW has to pay for it. Guarantee it.

I still think it'd be ludicrous if Punk came back to WWE, considering the bad blood and not to mention the enemies he already has in the company.
The biggest one that people tend to forget, is Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns hates CM Punk. And if anything Punk was partially responsible for the fans resenting Roman the way they did until he turned heel.
The whole "gotta make Roman look strong" thing started with CM Punk on that podcast with Cabana. And that shit followed Roman FOREVER.
I think it’s highly possible for the bucks to kick the door down with head of legal. Keep in mind wrestling employees are the real bosses in that locker room NOT HEAD OF LEGAL nor Tony khan. wrestlers are making the decision to get rid of punk here from the sound of it. Group vote? Lol wtf this is Tony’s decision to make. Wrestlers just telling Tony khan what to do there an a majority of the Locker room prob just feels threatened punks there. Regardless if you hate punk or not the fact that he’s the only one being let go here is bullshit
I can only imagine what it must've felt like to be told "You're both a detriment to this company & a cancer!..." by somebody...
Game recognize game, Jericho got into Tony's ear good enough to push Punk out the door. I don't think the Elite wouldn't been enough to get Punk out of the company.
Its going to be interesting for sure when all these cobtracts expire. If i am wwe though tje mvp of that rostervwhich was punk, is MJF. He'd be right at the top in wwe.
It is very hard to defend Punk here and it shocks me that his fanbase takes his side when, from every action taken by Punk in this matter, was just wrong. He continued to get injured after defeating two of AEW's top guys for the title, and after winning his most recent one, he essentially buried the company he works for. The very company that helped bring him back into the fold, and with it, his love for prowrestling. It even seems as if he's lying out of his teeth in order to bury or hurt the Elite in any way possible.
The elite should at least have there EVP roles taken away
Sadly they will get rewarded for their plan to rid of the company of Punk. The Elite, along with Page and possibly others, provoked the entire thing. Sadly, they will now feel empowered to target anyone they don't want in the company.

It's sad how it's looking like Tony chose the goofs who drive away 200k viewers every week instead of the biggest star who gave them their biggest gates, highest ratings, most bought ppvs, the most merch sales and some of the best matches in the company
That's fine, AEW's crowd is fine with this yet they wonder why casual fans won't hang around and Turner keeps moving them to increasingly crappier TV slots. I give AEW a few more years to get by just on the hardcore fans viewership, because I promise you that no more WWE stars will ever jump there again after this. Especially not after this and the Cody Rhodes stuff.
And he wasn’t worth any of the money that they gave him or going to give him. He’s just not worth it to me! He didn’t do that much as far as bringing more people in to watch it MJF is the future Tony’s a billionaire, paying out his contract won’t be shit, but he needs to get back in gear and quit looking like a fan boy
Kind of a sad ending to what was suppose to be his redemption story.
Just hearing about Punk’s camp and his history, you can get an idea of his mindset. He needs to be the “victim”. His family problems, his MRSA, Hangman actually shooting on him, being threaten by the Bucks. You can see there some consistency. And I hoped that this run we had already gone over that and obviously it’s not true. I hope one day he can get over that mentality.
