Pontiac Aztek. Possibly the Ugliest Car GM Ever Made. But Also One Of The Coolest!

- With its multiple eyes and nostrils, the Aztek looks deformed and scary, something that dogs bark at. The shame is, under all that ugliness, there was a useful, competent crossover. It really is a cool car! It has a removal beverage between the front seats. It has rear cargo area Pioneer Stereo Controls with nice speakers and an amplifier. It has a built in air compressor. It came factory with uplander tent! It also came with an air mattress. (although missing) The styling was terrible. However if you park it near a new Toyota Rav4 you will surprised how much they look alike. Camping in the Aztek!
The Breaking Bad guy drove this. Looks like he would have had alot of places to hide his product

My son's girlfriend had one of those I agree I always thought they were ugly.

I wish people would stop parroting the"ugliest car" crap, like they've never seen a BMW i3. Or the front end of the current BMWs.

I bought the 2001 green Aztek in November 2000. I loved it, I had people make fun of me but I didn’t care. I had that car for 10 years & I drove it from west coast to east coast a few times. Almost 300,000 miles. I loved the futuristic look. My oldest son said it looked like a funky space shuttle from Star Trek. Too bad they stopped making them.
Monster hatchback swaddled in layers of unprotected plastic. If only the plastic didn't oxidize. They are a cult classic i think.

That is so cool. I always liked this car growing up, I didn't know why. I knew it had some cool features. People didn't know a crossover before a crossover existed. Nice video. 😎

I just bought a 2002 that is pretty much fully loaded minus a sunroof. It's a shame Pontiac didn't put the 3.8 in these. One thing i noticed about the Aztek is the high temperature they run at.
Yes they do run warm. Many of the GM cars in this era ran hot so they could meet emissions.
Keep an eye of the temperature when stuck in traffic or any situation where you are doing a lot of idling. They like to slowly overheat when idling and blow head gaskets. If you never let it get too hot, you'll be fine. the 3.4 is a fun little engine. Especially, in smaller cars like the Grand Am. I agree it should have had the 3.8 though.

This one is super loaded Aztek. They were ugly as sin when they came out but it really doesn't look bad at all now.

Ahead of its time for sure’ now ugly at all considering what’s on the road today! All SUV’s want to be an Aztek 😂.
I really hope I can find one as loaded as this one, I've been searching for a long time now and plan on trying to buy one within the next year as a road trip car.
My wife drove a white 2001 and it was her favorite car , a really nice leather interior and lots of comfy room . But gm did it dirty with a terrible head gasket!!!
They were fun cars but they did have their issues.

Its not a ssangyong or multipla so we are good but yeah it is ugly. But probably beyond its looks its probably not that bad
