- In this video, I am joined by @WorGuides to test poison pre-nerf and post-nerf in Watcher of Realms. We are very thorough and hope y'all can learn something from our results. Also, seems like Liam is immune to the nerf as his poison is just rebranded as Neurotoxin, which is literally poison pre-nerf. We also think we found a bug or at the very least a description error. Enjoy :D

I don't find it fair to new players when a game fundamentally changes the way something works and that something was widely used to pass certain levels or "walls".

Something I've noticed is that if you let support know that a skill isn't working correctly they will change the skill text rather than fix the skill. It's pretty darn hilarious.

Thanks a lot for the showcase! RiP poison. That is a pretty big damage nerf.
Hopefully they'll take another look, and come up with something in between what poison was originally, and what its going to be after the patch.
I am hopeful they will revisit the change before any final decision.

What we don’t know yet is if neurotoxin can be applied to Boreas in codex. They were hyper specific with the skills that worked and they could neuter Liam there.
11:10 this is the exact reason poison was adjusted. There is no way they intended for a lvl 1 hero with no skill ups to kill a boss. There is the new "secret society" faction coming maybe they'll have poison affinity (think a3/a5 solcadens + Anai)

I think the name change is fine, neurotoxins are in real life very potent poisons, so it makes sense that being the stronger dot, but say that in the patch notes

I was sorta upset about this at first, but then I remembered that they plan to rework the damage calculation later on like they referred to on Mabucket's tour. I think they are making this change because DOT will be more important after the calculation change. I'm really hoping it's more than just "we don't like you clearing AMR with cuke anymore".

As a newer player (27 days now), it's kinda vexing trying to research stuff just find popular strats nerfed, nevermind those that just won't apply because you don't have a specific unit. Currently being gated by AM12 for the Volka quest and my DPS pulls have not been great. 3 legendary healers doesn't do much good on a stage with 2 platforms and insufficient damage to take out the boss and add trickle. Can't even say my gear farming has gone well with how few I get workable stats. Nature of the beast, I guess, but there's a lot of feelsbadman when walled and the only solution is time and RNG.

yea, i noticed in the middle that the poisons were not lasting 10s. hopefully its a bug or someone just forgot to update the code for the new length. If the poisons actually last 10s she will probably be able to keep full stacks/uptime and damage will clearly be much better in that case. still less than current poison but at least serviceable.
Yea check at the end, we tested and it was only 5 sec

brilliant move i would say ... i agree its starting to feel intentional or a smoke screen to distract players from boreas nerfs , cause they had neurotoxin out hidden on 1 character but did not think to mentioning it in patch note or try to relay a proper reasoning it was strange but smart it almost worked it confused players like a shock shell and made us argue about some thing els .

Did you have the chance to take a look at what Nisalt is like after these changes? Adjusting DoTs this much really throws a guy based on DoTs like him into complete limbo.

They can probably run people’s auto runs with nerfs to debug if they break people’s farms.
So how does this affect Aracha? She deals spider toxin (m.dmg) and poison (true dmg). Is she going to stack her magic damage now? Are they changing her poison to neurotoxin?
Seems like an unnecessary decision all round.
she now will deal spider toxian and poison, both magic damage based off her attack

AMR Liam will not be worth it. But GR3 Liam will still be as viable as he was before.

lets hope they rethink this. It looks pretty bad. ill just use another burner for codex maybe if this does not work out or everybody will make liam lvl 60 for codex lol. Great video as always.

Liam was my first level 60 lol. Little dude carried me in story mode and got his reward.

The 10s duration was the only possible redeeming modification they made. It would've allowed builds to NOT be forced into attack speed... But looks like they mucked it up...

I think the non communcation & that the poison name changed is strategic. Despite the good things they do,, they still are a gotcha company,... they'd prefer people to think spending is there only option.
But of course it's great that they do give a damn about the play aspect of there game for everyone.
They do this for the back and forth for the numbers bad or good publicity is never bad so.This is why they do this shit.Well done WOR making one hero a epic hero poisner that cant be and want be used by anyone not early or late this gear would be better used on Wrath or Brianna

Technically on Aracha, the bad poison is better than regular poison, since she has the stats to use the new poison, but yeah, Idk

@jamiebrinks1490 if it says the NEW poison stacks up 10x, does it mean up to 10 seconds, up to 50% m. dmg, or both?

Well, they definitely destroyed poison lol. Guess only thing left to do is to wait to see what else comes with it. Still doesn't seem useful though even with higher attack.
important to know this change IS NOT LIVE. If we complain here and on discord, I know explicitly that they are open to feedback and revisiting the change.
I think for all the F2P players, this is a very important thing to fight against. I don't need poison, but this is not good for the health of the game if other people can't find alternatives to beating harder content.

esme base atk is very low maybe something like around 3k to 3.5k would be better

Confirmed that poison on Cerberus's artifact has also changed. However, given Cerberus's very high base attack, this likely will result in an improvement for him.
Lunacy Visor will still remain his best in slot for a lot of content tho

@@Bleachguy2023 poison is nerfed. Additionally the heroes cutter cute and skewed are having their basic attacks nerfed. Only Liam out of all poison hacer is getting to keep the old poison which is now called neurotoxin
Liam is actually required to clear the stage you are given him in the campaign. They didn't want to make the level a guaranteed fail 😉
Also, poison probably wasnt even breaking the defence on the amr boss, it actually matters with now.

@@fastidious_gg yeah but I doubt it will break defence cap against bosses with the commons, cuke has a chance, but the important ones are all around 9-10k

Poison in WoW was not based off enemy health, but I agree very much that they need to do a better job communicating. Has led to way too many issues. Do you have anyone in your community that plays the Chinese version of the game? I doubt this is the case, but maybe some of the issues are translation related i.e. the English localization team isn't providing 100% of the information they should.
there is no chinese version of the game. it isn't out in china
