A friend of mine died today going fast on the freeway. I drive a sport car and never think about the risks involved. what im trying to say is anything can happen at any time. It hits you hard when someone close dies because of speeding be careful people dont wait till its too late.

The engine pumped out 311 hp @ 6,500 rpm, and allowed the RS2 to screech to 60 mph comfortably under 4.6 seconds & continue on to a electronically limited 168 mph top speed... *wait, it gets better!!!*
This video got 16 mil plus views because its not freaking gay like the rest with their annoying techno music. Everyone wants to hear the sweet sound of the engine. Great job to the makers of this vid for keeping it sweet and simple!
@Gixter1000: Its an ~20 Years old Audi RS2 with about 300 turbo-hp. If i had to choose, i would take the R1 turbo for nice sundays, the firestorm for getting to work and the RS2 for everyday cruising :)

@mapukmapuk some superchargers look like turbochargers, but some look very different. centrifugal superchargers are basically belt driven turbos while roots superchargers mount to the intake manifold.

It´s a nice bike - i ride the same (without turbo). It must be a RN01 (Model 98-99) (you can see it at the taillights). And for all those "it´s a fake - guys": The speedo is correct - 6th gear / 11000 rpm=290 km/h !!!! not miles per hour ! Thats what my R1 brings, too :-) And you CAN HEAR the turbo around 5500-7500 rpm in this video ! My RN01 makes power-wheelies only in 1st and sometimes 2nd gear with original parts (only BOS Slipon). But THIS R1 is raising up the front like hell! THUMPS UP

It was the original 'RS' Audi offered supercar embarrassing performance in a practical estate car package. A few did manage to make it to New Zealand, Africa, Brazil and HK & now there are several here in the US.
this is awsome, this is an older R1, which were the kings of their day, an are STILL super fast,, the thing is that the liter bikes are gettin faster, but the 600s are makin up ground, they are makin up the most ground of them all. im 29, i had the 2000 Fuelie Gix 750 when it came out, it was sick.i had a 2001 Gixxr 1000 after that. i had this snot nosed kid wit his hat on sideways tell ME, that i dont know anything and that hes to big for a new 600. lol, i laughed at the future crash victim

This is why my parents "won't" let me drive a bike yet, I can't say I disagree with them. I like speed way too much to drive such a powerful bike at 21 years old.

@djkasdjkasdjdjdj all a turbo does is use the exhaust to push more air into the engine, you could fit a turbo to any engine so long as the internals can cope and you cool it properly

@preludefan The RS2 is faster than the McLaren F1 and the Jacques Villeneuve’s Formula One car that was quite fast at the time and just a hair slower than the 996 generation Porsche 911, a mere tenth of a second to be exact. Another great feature was the permanent Audi quattro all-wheel-drive system, which meant that in slippery conditions the RS2 could carry on safely where other high performance cars couldn't and launch like a bat out of hell!!! In total 2891 RS2's were built.
@MrRandomppl im kinda with you on this one i have a funny feeling its the biggest fake to fool people in ages, anybody who rides a bike with enough power knows you can pretty much pop a wheelie in any gear if you blip the clutch with plenty of revs, its only the fact he seems to wheelie whenever he gets the power on that makes it seem like its turbo'd but im not convinced ive seen standard R1's pick up speed quicker.

Let me say I love fast bikes and good riders, have ridden my whole life. All the same I also believe this kind of riding is meant for the racetrack.
@mapukmapuk turbo is propelled by exhaust gases, while a supercharger is propelled by an accessory belt. hope that helped.
