  • While Venezuela’s political crisis continues, its economic crisis gets more critical every day.
    The IMF recently said that it expects annual inflation to reach 2,300% by next year. It means that Venezuela’s cash quickly becomes worthless, people have to carry around wads of cash to buy the smallest item and money is in short supply.
    Katy Watson, the BBC's South America correspondent, reports

      Socialism started punishing the rich to give to the poor. All the rich people left (who were also the smart people) with all their money. This caused hyperinflation and brain drain. Socialism can be dangerous, it's like a drug, it works very well at first and the ordinary people enjoy it, but then the money runs out and the problems start.

Contract MBA students and business development centers to work with them, setup consultative services to work wutg the ministry of communes and social protection. Map out the neighborhoods and have a platform that allows collaboration and skill sharing on a household by household level. Going to try to run surveys in Caracas and Venezuela in order t setup a collaborative platform. It will take work, and I don't exactly have money. • @MikeFoxtrot1
      @MikeFoxtrot1 Před 6 lety +1

      The drought caused water levels to fall in the dams, so no hydropower, hydropower is Venezuela's main source of electricity.
      Electricity was rationed to save water, which meant power cuts, which meant that factories and business etc couldn't operate, which meant 3 day week, which meant less money making and less pay for employees and the end result, shortages of everything domestically produced.
      The drought also caused crops and livestock to die, which meant shortages of domestically produced food.
      The result, shortages of everything (apart from oil), importing almost everything, skyrocketing prices, the currency becomes worthless, economic collapse.
      Yes, socialist policies made things worse, but the drought was the card that made the house collapse.
