I stuck with FR4 on the Sugar and the Neo65, both still have a little flex but not too much. The sound between them on the Sugar is definitely similar but the PC seems a little more muted. As I seem to have a number of muted boards I like the poppy sounds with the FR4 but both sound great IMHO. Nice thorough comparison video!
How do you like the Neo65? I was thinking of getting it but the shipping fee is 30 dollars in the US. I want a thockier creamy sounding keyboard and can't choose between the Sugar, Neo65, Akko Spr67, and the M1W.
@@CollateralHK I love it! I just finished the Sugar65 build and it's very nice as well but nothing seems to pull me away yet. I went with Oil Kings, the FR4 plate all the foam, chroma weight and PBTfans Subarashi caps. It's definitely thocky and feels great. I went tri mode but probably should have gone wired RGB but I might not have gotten the Oil Kings, if I had. I spent more than what I intended on the build but very happy with it. I'm glad I went all out though as I like the QMK/VIA and the front of the keyboard is only 15mm high compared to 20mm or higher on other keyboards. For me that means I don't need wrist rest to type on it comfortably and thus it takes up hardly any space on my desk. I never thought that would matter that much but after getting it I haven't used really anything else.
I agree, pc plate makes the sound and feel much softer though but the quality of this place very basic but it's okay for the price. I also stuck with the fr4 plate for now. :)
Great Job! The plate is something that we don't pay so much attention but it has important impact. I prefer the PC plate. 🙂 Do you know the Black Diamond 75 keyboard? It has a crazy bouncing plate with adjustable spring. Completely crazy 🤩
Thanks man! I think the best right now is still pc plates. But really depends on typing preferrences. I haven't heard of that keyboard yet but I do think it's the same mount as the Akko SPR67 😁
