Man. That second half went and slugged me right in the feels. Not that the first half wasn’t good, mind you. There’s just something about the dialog you picked for the second half…

I used to watch a lot more GMV channels, but now you are the only one since your music choice has always been the best and you can really see work and time you spend creating such awesome videos. Don't ever try rushing your videos, quality takes time.

Very cool. Did you play through Andromeda? I really liked it and wish they could do a sequel but the sheeple murdered it.

I think the biggest issue with Andromeda is that the characters almost felt like they were from a different genre. Ryder in particular feeling more like an awkward 20 something instead of an experienced *anything* that you'd have expected to see on a inter galactic colony ship. The characters in general just feel younger and less experienced in their roles; Drack, despite being an old Krogan somehow manages to make Grunt seem like a right geezer in comparison. In general, the story of the Trilogy felt like it had more weight because seemingly insurmountable odds of the Reaper threat was bolstered by the fact that Shepard and crew had that air of being competent and experienced individuals in their respective roles. Andromeda's plot feels weaker because the characters all feel fresh off a college campus, save for Dad Ryder who dies in the first 15 minutes.
Additionally, when characters spoke of about Commander Shepard in the trilogy, they were talking about the person, not the rank. There was no "We can finally get things moving along now that we have a *Commander* here" as there is in Andromeda regarding Ryder's rank as Pathfinder. Shepard was a symbol for their actions, Ryder was a symbol for their title. The closest you get is when people hear about Pathfinder Ryder and then speak of Dad Ryder, to narratively make a point that Ryder had big shoes to fill, which frankly after the Shepard Trilogy, Ryder *did* have big shoes to fill.
This isn't to say the character writing or story writing was all bad, it definitely did have its charms (and they legitimately remembered that the Asari are the only single gender sapients in the Milky Way), but I think they took a much bigger step away from the general feeling of the writing in the Shepard Trilogy, given that they had a wealth of fans that would've expected a similar atmosphere. The writing would've honestly stood a lot better if the game wasn't a Mass Effect title just by not being at all tied to any expectations of what a Mass Effect game should be.
That said, it wasn't all bad. Visuals were nice, gameplay felt cleaner and the more free form open spaces let snipers once more feel like they had a place beyond dick punching an Atlas/Ymir/Brute. The loadout system I think was a nice step forward from previous games and the jumping/hovering in combat was fun. Finally doing away with the dreaded omni-button was probably the biggest improvement. They also gave one of two starter human squadmates an actually interesting class to have around. They also still nailed the "weird dead alien shit" while completely stepping away from the Protheans.
My only real gripe about gameplay is that the Nomad is a shitty Mako.
