HOLY MOLY!!! I've been hoping to see something like this for years!
This virtual instrument deserves a dedicated Roland midi keyboard with a touch display, NKS compatibility with full screen match of all graphics, firmware update for Fantom keyboards to have access to all parameters directly from the screen.
Absolutely and with knobs and sliders that auto configure to the virtual synth on the screen for tactile control of the parameters.
Been screaming at Roland to make a midi keyboard controller like a Fantom for years. THEY DON'T LISTEN. They want to make you pay 4 grand for the synth instead when 95% of people don't need it.

You can not buy it. Only thing for now is to have Ultimate subscription to Roland cloud and then you can have it. Unless Roland make some changes in that direction this is the only way.

No, even “Lifetime” keys are only valid for the lifetime of the instrument. Roland can disable it at any time. Not worth using any cloud service. Remember…cloud is just someone else’s computer. Better off buying a Fantom XR, which comes with all the same sounds and a free pc editor. Depressing that these companies are trying to lock us into subscriptions by stripping their software out of their hardware. I will never use cloud. PS, they are collecting all your DAW data, which can be used to train an AI to write songs exactly as you do. Use at your own risk.

I purchase just today zenology ultimate. Wow! Galaxias in my opinion is the best stand alone vst. Now with my jupiter xm i can have fun!
Trying it out and I can advice to run this version at 48kHz, seems to run good.
I already own lifetime keys for 10 Roland Cloud plugins - Jupiter 4, Juno 60, D-50, XV-5080, System-1, JD-800, 303, System-100, Jupiter-8 and SH-2. You’re telling me I have to subscribe to Ultimate again to use this VST wrapper? Can’t see why this doesn’t work with those I already own and show only those. It’s like UVI restricting their Workstation to only those who subscribe to sonic pass.
I haven't subscribed to Sonic Pass, and have no trouble using the many UVI products I've bought.
@@riftwytch yup, me too, and that was my point - it’s like UVI restricting Workstation to subscribers (which they obviously don’t - it’s free). The same is true of Komplete Kontrol and NI VSTs. Somehow Roland want customers who already paid for lifetime keys to also subscribe for this wrapper VST. Basically paying twice. Crazy.

I can combine plugins easily enough in my DAW, or use something like Unify and I don't nave to only use plugins from one manufacturer.
Yes, and your lifetime keys are only good for the “life” of each instrument, which is at Roland’s discretion. Welcome to the party. Maybe rethink using plug-ins or we are all going to suffer these anti-consumer practices far into the future.
Are the sounds from the Roland Integra-7 included in Galaxias and/or the Fantom keyboards?

LOL! They're not smart enough to make a great midi controller !! They could of cornered the market on that years ago but they have ZERO foresight on the future. Now it's too late.
There are already many out there, Yamaha makes the best piano action.

Fantastic to hear that you are enjoying it! We can't provide an approximate date yet for the plug-in, but soon! We're hoping to release it before the end of the year, but we also want to make sure it's stable and polished. Have fun for now, and any favorite Scenes or ones you create in GALAXIAS will be waiting for you in the plug-in version when it's released.

No recording yet, they said they are finishing up the VST version, then that would enable you to record it within Cubase, Ableton, etc.

Roland, in case you're wondering what else to make into plugins, V-Synth and JP8080 please.
It's great this exists. It's like a supercharged software version of a Jupiter X or Fantom.
Though I'd rather pay £2000 outright than £200/year perpetually. The only reason I've ever held a Roland Cloud subscription was to aquire Lifetime Keys through the Play4Life promotion. I will never 'rent' software.
Also if someone already owns the lifetime keys for all/most of the component synths, making them pay a full subscription just to use Galaxias seems unreasonable.
Even Lifetime keys require re-authorization every 30 days and are only valid for the “life” of the instrument, which is solely at the discretion of Roland. They currently have all models loaded up onto their cloud, but you can expect they will start to deactivate instruments in the future once they need more money from you imo. Use at your own risk.
Will this work in older Roland keyboards? Say, RD-700GX?

The idea behind Galaxias and the whole Roland Cloud are absolutely fantastic. What a world that I can have everything Roland ever had on my computer without having to fill it all up with expensive and vulnerable hardware synths. It's just a shame that you'll never own Galaxias because it's only available as a subscription model. And even if you buy the software synths with a lifetime key, you still have to be connected to the internet every 30 days, otherwise the software will no longer work. As I said, the idea behind the Roland Cloud is fantastic, but the cloud can be a real hell and a nightmare. The developers at Roland still have to make some improvements.
Does one need Roland Cloud for functionality, or is this collection a separate, self contained application one can run within one’s chosen DAW, even if not using Roland Cloud?
Yup..you can have it only if you have Ultimate acc. Maybe Roland will change something in the future...but for now..

So if I’m understanding correctly galaxias literally combines every Roland instrument, sound, keyboard workstation, and synthesizer into one? If so that would essentially make buying the other Roland cloud packs unnecessary right? I’m not mad about it, I just wanna know if I should just buy galaxias and not have to worry about buying other packs such as SRX, zen core, zenology, aira, legendary, etc.
Next we need a blank synths and we pick the lfos envelopes ocs ect mixed and matched ...like a zencore modular with all this as parts to rumage

Does Roland Galaxias have all the sounds (or some sounds) of the XP-50 or XP-80 workstation keyboard for me to play on the computer? If so, will I have to have a Roland keyboard? My XP-50 has broken down.

Those sounds come from the SRV and JV1080 VSTs, if I'm not mistaken. If you buy those or get the Ultimate subscription, you should have those.
Alternatively, just get a Juno-DS keyboard already. It is an absolutely fantastic performance keyboard, and descendant of XP-50/XP-80.

@@jorgevieira3966 now I notice your Spanish name. You are a Latin American? The Juno-DS is sold in LatAm as the _XPS-30_ . It has a small number of extra or different sounds specifically for the countries it is sold in (I do not know the full list), due to the cultural difference from Japan and America/Europe. It is otherwise the same thing, just looks slightly different.
Sorry, I thought you were just another pick that won't upgrade from XP-50 for silly reasons. Sorry about that, I imagine you might not know about the progression:
XP-50/80 > Juno-D > Juno-D LE > Juno-Di > Juno-DS
The XP-50 sounds are carried over every generation, but acoustic sounds have been improved. The MFX algorithms are also improved, even though the MFX are the same, but when heard side by side, Juno-DS sounds much better. The number of Roland presets and the number of user preset slots is greatest in the Juno-DS.
Juno-DS/XPS-30 can load the free Axial Expansions from Roland. EXP-04 contains the "PremierGrand" piano preset, which sounds better than even the SuperNatural pianos of the Jupiter-50/80, Integra-7, and FA-08. ;)
EXP-05 has the best electric piano, and EXP-02 is the biggest expansion with 400+ presets.
Juno-DS and XPS-30 also do USB audio, so when you set them up in a DAW like Ableton Live or Steinberg Cubase, they send pure sound with a noise floor as low as 16-bit or 24-bit can go, whichever you set your project to, no need for a recording interface at all.
They can also work as MIDI controllers for Android through USB, I don't know about Apple (but it should be the same).
The they have an 8-part looping sequencer. You cannot sequence external equipment with it, but it is absolutely fantastic if you happen to need backing drum grooves or want to sketch a song.

Guys, it's a wrapper for their cloud subscription synths...like Kontrol for The NI Komplete Bundle or Analog Lab for Arturia V collection, And you can't even buy it, subscription only. Your daw is also a vst wrapper, but if you want the convenience of firing up vsts configured in stack/splits for live use, or custom effect chains, with the possibility of opening the wrapper on a DAW as a vst plugin, there are solutions that are plugin brand agnostic. Also, I don't see the convenience in all this meta-tagging systems for finding premade and for sale presets, apart for samplers/romplers. But that's just me, I have a library of patches I made, and on synths is all I care about.
NI Komplete Kontrol is free and just works with whatever you load into it. Whether you own Komplete 14 CE or just Massive, it will work. Unfortunately, no multis - that’ll be Kontakt. Similar with UVI Workstation too - another wrapper for their stuff. This sadly isn’t even a wrapper for those of us who own Roland Cloud lifetime keys. I have 10 and need to subscribe to ultimate (again) to access this thing. Crazy. Not the end of the world though since I’ve learned to live with my current workflow in logic and cubase.

As a musician that has gone about 90% out of the box, Galaxias has impressed me to the point that I would highly consider moving back to a hybrid approach. The sheer magnitude of classic sounds available is impressive in and of itself, but Roland seems to have done an excellent job of adding very useful production features as well, so overall, it looks very impressive!
However, can I assume by the glaring exclusion of the highly loved and sought after JP-8000/8080 in this and other demos, that it has yet again not been included in this tool? I fail to understand how a company that has so successfully digitized even their old analog synths continues to exclude easily 1 of the top 10 Roland products of all time. If these were included in this package, it would almost be an auto-subscribe for me. As it stands, I'm still on the fence. Any chance someone from Roland can chime in on any future plans for the 8000/8080?
The terms of service are so offensive, you should really reconsider using. Even Lifetime keys only provide access for the “life” of the instrument, which is solely at the discretion of Roland and requires re-authorization every 30 days along with undefined data collection from your DAW. Considering the Fantom XR was more capable than this with a free online editor, it does not make sense for any self-respecting musician to use this.

I have several Roland products, all hardware. A Jupiter X, Juno 106, D50, SH3, JP8000, TR-8S, JD-Xi and Fantom 06. I am glad GALAXIAS came out because the market is flooded with different software versions and this make it a simple one stop option.

Galaxias is sort of like a beefed up Komplete Kontrol, but without a dedicated controller. Otherwise, you can do what Galaxias does in any great DAW like Cubase or Ableton, you know? This is also only for Roland Cloud Ultimate folks right now.

Nope.
Currently (Nov 19, 2023), there is only one ACB module for fantom, the Jupiter 8. And at this time, you can use only one ACB module in a scene cause ACB demands heavy CPU processing power. Actually I am not happy with my fantom, ABM is apparently a wrong approach, the sequencer and sampler on Fantom are less developed than those on Fantom G. Also, I have 5 boutiqes plus system 8 and TR8s, Fantom is expensive than all of them combined, yet it could not match the sound quality and intunitivity of either one.
@@nicky1661 You sound like you are not a rompler user, like your typical stage-performing keyboardist. Fantom isn't meant for you, in that case. You should have gone with all that gear you listed instead.
Roland's best emulations will be VSTs or the dedicated hardware you listed (much like any other instrument maker). Also, their best pianos are on their dedicated digital pianos like FP90x. Fantoms and Junos are middle-of-the-road, "Swiss army knife" stage performance keyboards for keyboardists that rely on both synth and acoustic sounds. That they even threw in ACB at all is cool, but of course, there will be limitations versus System-8 when System-8 has 3/4ths of Fantom's processing power (to give you an idea of what it takes to run ACB).
Lets hope it does a better job not draining CPU's (even on Mac M1's and M2's) than some of the former cloud plugins does.

I love how it's 3D. It's about time developers produced 3D plugins instead of all the flat stuff.
I wish Roland could make a simple multitrack hardware recorder. Something for song writers who want to put a song together without a computer. Something like a Tascam R20 or MPC but better with more emphasis on recording external audio (vocals, guitars, keys, etc) instead of sampling. Give me up to 24 tracks, support for any audio quality low or high, ability to record to SD & flash drive, built in effects, AI mixing & mastering options, stem separation, etc. Price it between $500 - $1,000 USD. Why would it sell well? Because *everything* I just described above doesn't currently exist in any hardware I know of. 🙂

You did it again But i have one question tho... can the galaxias recognized a few well known midi keyboards (like many well known brands..) so you can have a perfect experience with velocity ect... like in keyscape for example or ther plugins that recognized your midi keyboard and then adapt a certain velocity to it. thanks

But in expensive!! The whole V collection costs only like 300 bucks on sale. While one can say that Roland Cloud plugins might sound better than V collection, V collection will not empty your pockets with a subscription. Only lacking of V collection is that there are no drum machines.

I bought n/zyme for my fantom early this year, then 2 weeks ago the Fantom EX pack released. And yeah, 199 bucks with free n/zyme module in it. I love my fantom and I paid full price for the EX pack, just to find that you can only use one ACB module per scene, and it can't be used with v-piano at the same time. I used to think my fantom could replace my Boutique collections, but I think I'm wrong. Get a decent MIDI controller and subscribe roland Cloud ultimate member. It's far more capable, authentic and intunitive than the half baked Fantom.
The ACB thing likely was not an original consideration until later. That's interesting to know, I guess that the ACB uses the same processor(s) as the V-Piano.
You do know that replacing a System-8 requires 3 BMC chips, right? Fantom only has 4 and has a heck of a lot going on, so it would need to make some serious sacrifices to run more ACB models at once. The limitations are no surprise.

Unify is way more powerful, but this is a nice interface. You can do that when you’re a huge company.

MC-101/707 are grooveboxes, not synthesizers. The whole point is: pick up a few patches, tweak a few parameters and jam. If one patch doesn't work, pick up next. Options to access all sound synthesis parameters is a nice bonus to these machines and you likely are carried away by this.

Goes back further than that - 27 years ago, Propellerhead (now Reason) created ReBirth. My first VST. Roland even congratulated them via fax, then went all legal on them 😂
