Iran is a complex subject and most of the media we have doesn't work well with complexity.
In lieu of writing an essay, I'll say that I think non-intervention is probably better in this scenario.
One reason is that people in the developed world are becoming more averse to casualties, which makes it a lot harder to fight any wars (putting aside whether they're justified or imperative etc..).
In that context its hard to make a case unless there is a good casus belli, and in the case of Iran I don't think there is one that could convince a majority of Americans.
Another reason is that the Iranian regime is losing power, the younger generations generally don't want clerical bullying in the public sphere. Over time the theocracy will erode and then the US can influence things on the margin.
There's a lot more, but I think that'll suffice for now :)
