The Comet is a great Heli and very capable at 3D as well. A Friend at my Club has the Big Comet and that thing is ridiculously fast!

@@westhobbiesrc8051 You should stick a speedometer to it and have it telemetry back to your radio so you can see how fast it actually gets going.

Definitely this! The mini comet is incredible. the fireball is great too but flys heavy unless you’re at high head speed the whole time.
I am definitely NOT a speed guy but from the videos I have seen, you start by doing a stall turn and then punch the collective in the proper angle to slightly decrease altitude as you make the pass, then go in a straight line and do another stall turn for the same but in the other direction. I think that little guy is capable of going much faster and sounding much cooler.

Speed flying is also know as “F5B” flying. Basically a flat line to a Split S then back out. Next flights will definitely be like that. This one was setup on 13 degrees of pitch and mine is being setup on 16 degrees of pitch. It will go much faster!

i have the small sab comet . it was a heli i just had to have i have the yellow one. i havent built it yet . i need servos and a flybar ill probably use a icon i have one on a tri bladed oxy 3
iKon is a great choice for the FBL. All I run in my models. You need to get that thing built. Such a fun heli.

The mini comet is a such a awesome Heli. Completely different from the M4, really depends on what you want to do and how you want to fly. The M4 will be a great all around Heli and 3D model. While the mini comet can do 3D it’s built to go fast!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 after looking at it some more I went ahead and got the comet looked too good. It would be really cool to see a video on your setup. This is gonna be my first heli that I've had to setup a flybarless system (besides omp m1 but that came ready to go basically) so hopefully I can figure it out on my old spektrum and maybe a brain 2 reciever or something like that. If I can't get it running on the ol DX7 It might just be time to upgrade transmitters too
@@nunyabusiness8538 I’m going to make a how to video on the iKon/Brain FBL set on the mini and big Comet. You’re DX7 will be more then enough to setup and fly the heli. Of course if you want futures like telemetry and rescue then you will need a 8CH TX.

The comet has always been my favorite heli, always wanted a big and small one! I found a used one that’s brand new never been flown for a great deal! I wish SAB would bring the big one back.
When I’m flight what tells you you need to adjust the gain?

Sab needs to make a tandem rotor heli comet for speed
Tandem Rotor will be slower as more drag. But SAB needs to bring the big comet back.
I bought a used Sab Comet and noticed there is some play in the shaft of the main rotor. Is that normal? I've never had a helicopter with any play in the main rotor system
@@jeffgarver4137 yes, it’s perfectly normal. It’s in the connection of the main shaft to motor itself there’s a rubber dampener connection in there.
I have this exact heli but using a Spektrum AR7210BX flybarless system..... was wondering if you knew anything about how to setup the AR7210BX, im still kinda new to helicopters and mostly buy bnf like Blade helicopters i commented on one of your other videos on the blade infusion 180 which had too many issues for me so i gave it to my nephew to play with his army men.... was wondering if you could maybe help with setting up my system so its docile until i build more confidence, you make the best tutorial videos on CZcams, (my personal opinion) if you are too busy ,i totally understand but is definitely worth me asking a Sinsay like yourself for help..... thanks
I’ve setup a lot of microbeast and BeastX FBLs, they use to be all I flew for many years. Unfortunately your are very limited with the BeastX. You can go into Control behavior and set it to beginner which will slow your controls down drastically. But if you want a better, FBL that you can really fine tune look into iKon 2. There is a TON of features that MicroBeast and BeastX does not support. One big thing is Auto Level for beginners. Or the option for selectable flight mode and adjustable rotation rate to really slow the helicopter down. Thank you for watching the channel!
Awesome I'll get the ikon 2..... there are a few different models, like ikon 2 HD, ikon 2, ikon 2 Bluetooth, ikon 2 micro..... which one out of all these are the best fit for my mini goblin...? Thanks
@@johnswan6161 regular iKon 2. That’s what I run in my mini comet. You can get a SRXL2 and get telemetry from the ESC. You can get the mini iKon 2 as well but it’s top pin and harder to wire and fit under the canopy. So regular iKon 2.
