    That allen key is for the Pressure switch.
    You need to adjust it so it shuts off pretty much as soon as you shut the flow off with a valve/tap.
    This stops strain on the pump and as soon as you open the valve the pump will cut back in.

      hey, what about amperage? isnt the car battery amperage too high for that pump?

    • @RunTowardsDanger
      @RunTowardsDanger Před rokem

      @@maliknotice7149 I know this is an old comment. But the car battery amperage is how much it can supply. Not how much will be consumed by the pump. As long as the battery is rated for at least the same amps as the pump or more you'll be fine.

    The pumps are tested at factory that's why there's alittle water in it. The Northern tool 12v 5.5gpm pump is great. I've been using it now for 7 months still pumping strong can reach over 2 stories high. I prefer the pump with the threaded inlets to quick connect ones cause the adapters are easier to get. 1/2 male with 5/8 barb just get a flexzilla 5/8 garden cut off ends side onto 1/2" to 5/8 barb clamp down good to good. To make the pump and hose last run fresh water through it after each use.

    Way to go on getting it done. Look forward to a review on the pump later down the road. As for your battery add a second battery using a battery isolator solenoid so you never get stranded. Also very important for the extra battery cable you'll need use 1 gage and I highly recommend using welding cable as its a lot cheaper. Remember mo flow equals mo money so if you ever need more then 5.5 gpm just add another pump in parallel and you'll have 11 gpm when ever you need it. Thanks for sharing.

      Hey Ross. That particular pump came with an threaded adapter for connecting to a garden hose. If you dont have that same adapter, the pump should have came with other plastic ends - one goes into the pump and one can be used with a hose clamp - just cut the metal end off the end of the hose and clamp it to the plastic adapter on the pump

      Some of my older videos show me using a garden hose. Yes it works but not for long and I dont recommend it. The hose is not designed for the chemical and it will burst and you'll get SH everywhere. I have plenty of videos showing leaks and me fixing leaks and replacing hose etc. The SH will ruin the brass male and female ends causing leaks. The SH will also destroy the hose wall linings and you'll leak!

    I recently installed 3.0gpm pump on atv. Pressure and pump pulsated badly, so I cranked down screw on pressure switch until it was smooth. Problem is, is that it blows 10a fuse that I have on positive wire close to battery, and wire feels a little warm. Wondering if I could get away with putting 15a fuse like the pump has, and possibly running 12ga wire instead of 14-16. I didn't know if this would tear up voltage regulator, relay, or battery itself.

    • @YoungAmbitionYA

      Its going to be hard to tell one way or the other. A dead plant looks like a dead plant. You want to treat your customers well but you also don't want to be taken advantage of. Did they plant new plants that didnt take well, or damaged by cold nights? Do you recall them being healthy before the job? If you take the blame be sure it was your fault. Did you rinse well? Mix too hot? Definitely could have been you, but also could just be someone looking for new plants. If every plant around the home is dead then it's possible your mix was hot or you didnt rinse as well as you could have. If it's just a few then could be just bad plants
