  • Here is a quick tour of the rabbitry as it is now. I’m keeping the rabbit numbers down, we are building a house and once done I will be expanding the rabbitry to hit numbers for our supply contract we are getting later this year.
Here is my blog, give it a like and follow.

You could add biochar and carbon to the manure.. and red worms

What’s an example of carbon type to add?

@@Jamie-nc7tx pine shavings work well and are readily available, but shredded newspaper and cardboard, dry leaves, and wood chips as well.

I won't judge, I grew up on a farm and realize we as humans eat meat. I get too attached to the furry buggers and couldn't eat them lol!!

I know it's not where you live but any good suggestions on trying to find some tamuks in the Southwest?

I know where, I have a very nice lady in Campbell TX at a ranch there, she has beautiful big and sells them pretty reasonable. The problem is transport they have almost doubled in price since last year. It used to be $50 for a large breed now it’s $85/$90 and if you get kits it doesn’t matter they still charge you large breed price and per cage 🙄 instead of letting a couple kits share a cage cause they are still small. So while the price of the TEMUK is great if you’re far from tax like me (I’m in NC) then transport prices really make it pricey. Let me know if you want the ranches name?
