to pull the "death" card at the end was a low ball...
Yeah definitely
These professor really overstayed her welcome. This is the first time I've seen an entrepreneur told point blank "you gotta go, we have other pitches to listen to!" more or less.
Damn the sad story at the end definitely came off as desperate. That was awkward
I was uncomfortable lmao
Any time someone says "superfood" that's instantly a 100% scam
Ya!
Fr😂😂😂 it was like “Wait!!! Before you guys go just know her husband died”
HEY! WAIT! MY HUSBAND DEAD. YOU FEEL SORRY!
Mark wasnt having that guilt 🤣
I know, I’ve never seen him abruptly “kick” someone out. Lol
@@EvaSLi me either!!! So so cold too 😭
Right. I mean I can’t imagine how many pitches and guilt stories they hear
and he also said it was 1h+
@@Nischaya789 Simp
Plan A: explain your business and hope to get a deal
Plan B: beg and try to pity your way into a deal
Never seen an episode with so much emotional blackmail to try and get a deal. Really don't understand why they couldn't take the words of advice given and left graciously after the Sharks said thank-you instead of them still talking to the point Mark had to say "We wish we could stay and talk forever but we can't, you guys got to go".
Because they had nothing. They know that anybody else could come along and do this so they desperately wanted the partnership
while is annoying to watch. this has worked in the past and everyone saw it. even if its a 1 in 10 that the begging and pity gets you a deal some will take it. but then again is hard for it to work on food. is better when is some weird trinked more so if its patented and a cheap deal.
@@lucaskp16 it’s********
Agree. This keeps occurring: My husband died, my child died, I came with nothing = tears. Its ridiculous to expect a deal on that basis if they don't like your business and numbers
Missy is nothing more than an internet busker. She doesn't get it. She is used up by the time she is 30.
Mark should have screamed at the end “Like your tortillas, it’s a wrap!”
HAHHAHA. That's a good liner.
😆
That would’ve been perfect 😂
sounds like something mr. wonderful would say
Your pun is the taco the comment section
I've been watching this show since the beginning and I have to say thats the closest anyone has come to needing to be forcibly removed from the tank
"My family migrated over here. We came with nothing." Feel like we hear this with every single person that gets on this show. Also feel like they had that sad part at the end planned as a guilt trip in case they couldn't secure a deal.
While I do agree , I wouldn’t say it in my pitch unless questioned to do so however, this is very true for 90% of immigrants.
Lol I just watched the full and yeah that was too desperate
😹😹
Exactly.
They all have the same stories 😅
"We literally walked to get here and I have blisters on the soles of my feet and my cat died like three days ago"
So how did you come up with this idea?
-Ahem ... I came from nothing. My dad has cancer, my mom died as she was giving birth to me and her last words were please pitch on sharktank
I’ll make you an offer. 1 trillion dollars for 0.00000001% of your company.
@@da7000m That's too much. Can you do 0.000000005% for $1 trillion?
😆....yep
@@TheSuperBoyProject that was my flexibility and for those reasons I’m out!
@@da7000m Wait wait I forgot to say my dog died too.
Nobody's going to talk about how they made only $5,000 off of $750,000 in revenue? What happened????
commodity business. I'm not surprised
That part shocked me
Start up costs in an already low margin business. Food is the easiest industry to get into but you don't make money for a very long time.
This is an item that would be huge in Whole Foods and Trader Joes
This was NOT an " idea " , it was a stolen food product that people was already eating in another country and they thought it would be good in the states. They didnt put any effort into this. Clear definition of Culture appropriation. 💯🤷🏾♂️
Any time someone says "superfood" that's instantly a 100% scam
They’re in 4 Whole Foods locations according to their website.
$32 for a pack of tortillas though
@@gorginhanson You're right. There's no such thing as a super food.
I hate, hate, haaaaateee all the sad stories everyone brings up when they clearly see a deal ain’t happening.
Pulled the "Yall don't have to go home but you have to get the hell out of here!"
Lmao
Finally a new video for my binge watching mania
Same pal I've watched all of them then this popped up, happy days lol
They uploaded this one already before.. so annoying
If you cry, bring up your personal issues or play the guilt card at any point, it should be an immediate no. With that being said, this in particular is a great product and they seem like a great group.
it should be an automatic '' You are dead to me ''
I absolutely hate when they cry on shark tank .
Sounds like you're going to cry about it
@@abelrico3324 So the family with the dad who died from working as a 9/11 fighter does it apply to them also?
Lmao who're you to dictate what they can or can't do
mark an absolute G for telling them to leave like that

@@green4760 how is that being rude?

Shark tank pitches goes from 45minutes to 2 hours, and there are other business pitches after them
They are gone,as what the sharks said, why want to extend time for the sharks to listen to SAD stories for a possible change of mind to invest?
@@joboilibres9593 facts
I was waiting to hear, "all roads lead to Mr. Wonderful". Surprised he didn't pull one of his crazy royalty deals.
Same 😭
Because it's not a good product. Or a product that's good enough I should say.
What Mark said was a good point. There so many tortilla businesses too where competition on a smaller company wouldn't make that much.
@PlasmaHanDoku True, but Mr. Wonderful has done some crazy deals before. Something like giving them the $250,000, but for 50% and $2 per unit until he gets $500,000 or even $1 per unit forever.
@@AboutLeon Yea but he cares about Money lol. There is no profit to make off of a company barely selling anything and making a profit. The royality will just end up robbing them.
A business professor that brings a sad story to make a deal at the end in a desperate way, is not a good business partner. The problem with business professors at schools is that 99% don't have any experience in business.
They all planned it. It wasn't her own idea. Please get educated.
I think they should implement rules on shark tank that no guilt tripping the sharks. I always skip those parts cause it's kinda cringey.
This was the cringiest I’ve ever seen
The good pitches are always the ines that translate their struggle/story into how they started in a concise manner.
There aren’t any rules but there’s definitely a formula there to get your pitch across, be heard and get a deal.
"They migrated with nothng" is always the go to tear jerker of all these folks.
they will use what they can. is annoying to watch but I would do the same. getting the deal is the only thing that matters for most.
That’s the truth for most immigrants so I wouldn’t play as a king definitely but they shouldn’t have used it as guilt trip. That’s really bad.
@@maikelsauceda8175 I didn't say it was made up or false, I'm just saying I don't care about their sad backstories. It's not a charity tv show.
Sadly I have heard this story so much I can't even sympathize anymore
Who ever immigrated with everything? Roughly 0%.
Mark is just hitting the little red security button underneath his chair for 2 minutes. Lori texting “help” to the producers. Kevin thinking about maybe they’ll take a royalty and a nice %. Barbara is still out.
Hilarious! 🤣
😂😂😂
I hate the sad stories they start bringing out when they know a deal might not come. Everyone struggles in life and we all grind all the time without getting sympathy from others. You have to work hard on your own as much as you can to accomplish your goals not become desperate for anything.
You don’t think that desperation might be necessary for some people? Do you also incline to believe that generational trauma doesn’t exist? What about systemic racism?
@@WillemAlarik People who talk about systemic racism are looking for excuses to remain victims. There are many examples of people of color- plenty in my family- who have succeeded. What some see as reasons for failing are motivational to others to succeed, it depends on how you want to frame things.
@@mtngrl5859 systemic racism is proven, though. You don’t think that white people have an advantage over people or colour (even today) in the systems that we have which were organised and created by wealthy white individuals?
Individual case is important, but anecdotal evidence such as “my coloured friends” isn’t evidence of for or against systemic racism. If you look at the larger statistics; black on black and white on black crime, mental health, average life expectancy, black vs white crime and the average sentencing (massive difference), and the statistics for people of colour in high level positions of office/work place and education, there is a massive discrepancy. One that can be entirely blamed on and attributed to slavery, systemic racism and abuse, segregation, etc.
Agree with you. I have to skip that part, I hate it. Business are business it is not a charity show.
So systemic racism doesn’t exist because some POCs succeed? Kind of an insane take but ok.
Lori said she was scrappy 😭
Everyone has had struggles. Everyone has had tragedies. Using your tragedy as a tactic to get an investment is low. She thought they would change their minds.
A wise raccoon-like creature once said: “Everyone has dead people.”
The good cry at the end like a whittle child wasn't even his story it was hers 👀👀
You won't give me money... Wait, did I tell you about my dead husband?
If only Daniel was in the panel that day
"She told me that's a brilliant idea, you have to do it"
She's standing next to him. Her eyes roll 😂😂😂
I'm guessing she didn't use those exact words.
Yeah can't blame the sharks, these people got exactly what they needed, exposure and millions of people educated on their product plus the sharks approval.
Playing the sympathy card after everyone gave valid reasons to be out is not a good look.
If I hadn’t seen this episode and I see a blue pinelo tortilla at the grocery store I would have walked straight passed it and picked up original tortillas. The marketing it would take to educate consumers of this product will be a steep climb as opposed to a Scrubdaddy we know exactly what it is a better sponge.
not bringing up the death after being told to leave 😂
One of my biggest pet peeves, is when people attempt to use an emotional trigger to garner sympathy.
*Barbara:* ''This tortilla didn't make me run 100 miles in a single day, for that reason i'm out.
It’s like the Sharks all asked Barbara for advice on what they should do on this deal
They sounded desperate at the end and that was just nuts. What made them think that was a good idea?
Pretty sure that was the first time he actually picked up a hand grinder lol
😂
When I hear "super food" I immediately think bullshit.
Exactly 💯😊
Exactly. There's no such thing as a super food.
It feels like, if they had more data towards people who work out being this gives them energy in a healthier aspect and target that and also saying it's organic etc then perhaps they would have sold themselves more. But also they need to have that product in retail.
If we don't get a deal, tell them your husband died 5 years ago
Exactly
Lol
Husband died in 2018 but episode was filmed in early 2021, they probably pulled that card to explain why 2019 sales was low. Either way, lame attempt at gaining sympathy points
I'm shocked no one was interested in the product. It's fabulous
A 3 mil valuation and theyve made 5k profit.
You gotta be kidding
Nope
Same. What are they smoking 😭
They all said they liked the product. It was the lack of profit that scared them away.
Should just call it BluCorn, and say blue is better than yellow. Simple education, minimal details.
Respect the fight and grind and never give up attitude but if you're too persistent starts to become groveling and begging.
Kyle sounded like Cartman saying "and I'm Kyle" off the bat lol
We don’t know everything which was said because the video is edited. I just hope the sharks gave these folks some clear advices. As mentioned, the branding could do with some help.
I think they all turned off by the “My parents came here with nothing” when was asked how did you come up with the idea.
I think they're doing well with what they're currently doing. They need to come to LA. Blue corn tortillas are in at the moment.
Trying to use the sad stories to get them to invest is not a good look. I understand desperate ppl will do desperate things but Mark was not having it lol. The story is a good one but I'd say it's expensive (everything organic is) and in today's economy I will be buying the Walmart brand tortillas for AWHILE 🤣🤣
😂🤣 silly goose
@@m__o8phoenix 🤣🤣 I thought it was funny too lol
Listen...
We all have stress and have been through hard times, but that doesn't mean we have to give up hope. The good news, they are young and will bounce back from this experience. Hard work and perseverance.
A ton of respect to you all.
This product needs a very convincing motive to change people's buying habits.
"It's nothing short of a miracle you found each other and for that reason, I'm out"
lol
Kevin said he needed more tortilla on the bone 😂 boy I was like huh?
Also this episode made me really crave tacos. and i never crave tacos. lol brb ordering some
Seem like good people but you really think the sad story was gonna get you a deal when they are all out? A bit of cringe
Exactly
That ending was awkward... Haha.
So awkward I had to skip past it, then work up the courage to prepare myself to rewind and and actually watch it, literally cringed through it
Every business is little bit too early for barbra 😂
I hope whatever they decide to do, they will have lots of sales and success in their future.
I hope they make alot of money 💰 .
So I don’t think they’re intent was blackmail or emotional manipulation at the end. They come across more introverted to me. Hopefully they can continue to grow and learn. They seem like they’ll work hard.
It was a "wipe my sad tears a way with your sympathetic investment" type of manipulation.
@@jr881997that’s right
Agree
32$ 4 dozen that’s the big issue.
Just now buying this product. It will gain traction!
So many different products like this already exist. Dont gotta create a ceiling for a product that already is over the roof.
Nothing wrong about being desperate sometimes if it’s worth it. Hope these young entrepreneurs would be successful with the help of their professor.
Yeah, bc it feels awkward to watch people are projecting that it's bad
Really awkward. Had pause it for a second to breathe
No it IS bad. You can only be successful if you have self-respect.
Shows you’re character
It is if you're being deceitful. This product isn't the reason why those people run "Hundred of miles a day".
"we rub rocks on the food"
Pinole is just ground corn with sugar
Smh I hate when ppl try to get a deal by telling a sad story..especially after all the sharks are out...seem alil desperate smh..most ppl start from nothing and grind hard..thats apart of the journey..I would feel right if I got a deal off sympathy
Stop with the sad stories, everyone has them. Deals are based on merit not charity
I just watched 20 terrible inventions that were basically useless or just copies of something else but this one I would’ve invested in that’s an honest to goodness health product and it’s not a scam and the people are wonderful and I really feel like someone should’ve helped him out
Giving back is just wasted profits in an early start up.
Wait till you make it and find a way to help your community.
Damn they walked off like they ready to close shop and go get regular jobs
LMAO Mark had to literally scream at them to leave.
KEEP GRINDING & NEVER LOSE HOPE!
Mark in a grocery store funny stuff
Actually seems like a really good product and great sales.
The net profit will grow, especially if they can secure return customers
Genius 🤯
My dad …sniff sniff … works construction where he makes 50 dollars an hour… my mom …s if … cleans houses where she has a flexible schedule and can work as many hours as she wants…
Mmmm
Everyone has a story too tell but business is still business
Dam they went the Americas got talent route and still no deal
I just got on their website and the descriptions are hidden for their products so you can't even tell what they are for. And if you click on Description it's about 500 words long.
And for that reason, I'm out.
It’s like they forgot to tell their sad story so they tried to get it in last minute
Any time someone says "superfood" that's instantly a 100% scam
A hard watch...but to the editor 😂😂😂
Kate was the classic "Hurry up and buy"
The shark didn't say that their product is crap etc etc. They just AGAIN find it too early for them. Come back with stronger number and forsure they'll ride with you.
Hopefully their appearance on Sharktank will catapult them a little further and over the hurdles that they are experiencing. Perhaps they will appear on an episode in the future titled "I should have invested in this one" 🤔...
What? LOL, their product isn't going to gain too much of an audience.
@omnientertainment5852
I checked and they’re not doing too bad.
They are whiny crybabies. Their stupid chips aren’t going anywhere! 😂
I hope so
Do the producers tell everyone to cry in every show now? I only rediscovered this show but was a fan for the early seasons and that was a proper SHARK tank, not whatever the hell this show is now.
It's always time for a tear jerker when they say no
Run 100 miles a day??? What nonsense 🤣
Bruh, those Kenyans can go non stop
Always the same sad story at the end with some tears. Sometimes it helps
7:51 "scrappy is what we do" you gotta be kidding me
This drama has nothing to do with business. Begging for "help" is pretty cringeworthy.
They need to team up with those people who sold the barefoot shoes that were rubber with a string...
Three entrepreneurs came into the Tank ... "expecting" ... to get a deal. Expectations were dashed ... not everyone gets a Shark deal ... (10% for $300,000 ?!!)
the guilt tripping at the end lol
Going to high end restaurants seems like a good start.
"We have been through so much! I'm dyslexic, I have cats on the bottom of my feet and my blisters died like 3 days ago!!" They could of made money selling Kleenexes after that boohoo session!
I have tried their tortillas ❤ and other products .

$100,000 in sales would be proof of concept. $700,000 is more than a proof of concept - it's a business.
@@Jaguar724 Even if you profit 5k. That just means there's a lot of possible improvements to make. Getting to that 100k is definitely proof of concept.
