The film is a merveille: the lead is incredibly handsome , a classic Greek style: his subtle acting suits him so well. The story-line, the settings, the entire atmosphere is so real, so easy to feel; the emotions. T here is nothing extra, the bare bones settings is so authentic, as is the beautiful lead.
you are so right. this piece has greek tragedy written all over it. and the greek hero always has a fatal flaw and in gregory's case his fatal flaw is COWARDICE. his brother had to push the awful father out of the house.

The entire movie is good but the young guy is struggling with his sexuality that leads to tragic consequences
people struggling with their sexuality shouldn't whisper to people during jab to meet them at a secluded spot and then kill them.

Unfortunately this movie like many other male on male love/romance/gay themed movies, ends tragically. There was def some strong 'older rich guy grooms/seduces poorer young guy' vibes going on.
The acting was superb nonetheless

I won't do a spoiler, but I will say the film is not an idyllic gay romance as presented in this clip. The young guy knew what the older guy was after and pursued it even though he had misgivings. I was never clear why he did: gay, bi-curious, currying the favor of a wealthy, influential man, other, all of the above?

When i was a teenager, a married guy liked me too and even came onto me but i rejected. He became annoying and aggressive just like the guy in this film. This movie is very difficult to watch on many levels, the place is beautiful, as are the actors but the situation and it`s conclusion are ugly as all hell.
That's a shame there is no good end of the story...
