I'm a U Conn fan so I do not want to see her leave and play where I'll have a very difficult time finding a stream to watch her. Watching her play, the joy she plays with, the joy she spreads to her team, the crowd and me as a fan is a thing of beauty. Knowing that I get at least 3 more years of Paige, Fudd, Caroline, Nika, Edwards, etc. is incredibly satisfying, but the WNBA's labor and pay scale needs to be exposed. They shouldn't be forced to wait until 22 to be eligible for the WNBA draft keeping them locked into a rookie contract until 25ish. Players in general, shouldn't feel the need to be part time WNBA players and part time international players because of finances. There needs to be more then 12 WNBA teams. The WNBA needs more exposure. Who better then Paige or Clark to expose the WNBA by going PRO OVER SEAS NOW. It would force the WNBA to make an immediate adjustment because both are already the #1 and #2 picks. Again, as a U Conn fan I do not want her to leave. As a fan of Paige and Clark I do not want them to take on this challenge because of potential backlash on them. The truth is, as a Paige or a Clark Fan I'll get to see them play no matter what teams they are on. Selfishly I want her locked in for 2 more years at U Conn, I even want Clark to transfer to U Conn because I want the dynasty to smash the NCAA record books. The real question, is it fair for them to play in their prime for free. Think about how old 25 is to the average athlete, most are peaking. How many years of max earning potential has been lost? Is the current rule better for the athlete? WNBA? NCAAW? Me as a fan? Look at how happy Storrs Central is because they know, "she can't leave". That wasn't good for the men's game so why is it good for the woman's?

She can't leave early. She has to stay for four years. She does get an extra year with Covid but will go pro for sure.
