Nothing out of the normal when operating and the check engine light is not on. Any thoughts what it could be? Hey Joe, i have these five symptoms lol, and I was wondering other than doing a full tune up which I am not knowledgeably or experience-wise capable of, is there anything else to check that might cause some of these symptoms as well, save some money and maybe narrow it down. When you mentioned a harder start, this is the first time for me. I have a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe Awd 3.3l has always been a joy starting it when I got it to now, just sounds cool and smooth. Hesitation in rpm idle I have experienced before and now. The hard start is a first and I am at 303,000. Hyundai did a tune up 4 years back and everything was peppy and responsive. Winter is here and a hard start once in a while is and has never been normal for this ride. So, your symptoms nailed everything, first time rough start, sorry for the repetition. Hyundai wants 600 bucks for a tune-up, I would like to save where I can if possible till I can do it myself one day but if not, what will be will be.

      @flinch622 Před rokem +2

      303k... good luck. On the cheap side, two things for any car and see if anything peps up: change the fuel filter and put a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner [I've had good luck with it] in the tank at next fillup. Tune ups these days are at best cleaning the injectors and maybe the MAF sensor. Your vehicle should be on its 3rd or 4th set of spark plugs. There really isn't anything to tune compared to 40 years ago - computer programs don't drift like points or timing used to do [from chain stretch]. Chris Fix and Scotty Kilmer both have vids on cleaning MAF sensor if you want to do that - use only a cleaner specified for that.

    Can it cause a rich condition?

      No, plugs cannot cause a code for rich running. That'll almost certainly be a leaky or dirty injector(s): czcams.com/video/8rHmN2AC_mk/video.html

    Denso for Toyota they need and want them. Ford runs perfectly fine on anything.

      I find my Fords run best on factory motorcraft the best. Or at least the triton engines coil packs don’t like anything else lol

      Everyone knows that Denso are the the best
      Denso came out with iridium before anyone else even ngk and they make twin tip iridium spark plugs

      I've recently switched to Denso Iridium TT in my Saab and have just fitted them to our Citroen C1 (Toyota 1KR engine) and am finding them to be very good. They make a real difference: czcams.com/video/2ktsKDacoxk/video.html
