So 'bigger is better'? What about taste? Dutch agriculture produces big awesome tomatoes, which taste like water. A Dutch guy close by produces simple looking tomatoes, tasting awesome.

That was my first thought. Bigger isn't always better. I would bet the smaller carrots were better.

I converted an old laundry sink into a raised bed, might be deep enough to try this next year. Cool experiment, easy to follow too
