This scene was very powerful to me and the acting brought it home. I’m an alcoholic who has been happily sober for many years but yeah… addiction truly is a wretched state of affairs for both the addicted person and those who love the addict. The whole situation can be so complicated and messy and horrible so god bless anyone who is somehow able to get free of that. I’ll never stop being grateful for the help, support, and love I had around me that saved my life.
The acting is hilariously bad.
I’m an alcoholic and I dream of the day I can be sober
@@jackel180 I hope you're doing better now. Take care!!
My twin brother was a recovering alcoholic who passed away 12 years ago.
I like this scene. It's so simple yet gentle, emotional, loving.
"I just want you to be happy."
"I'm working on that."
I relate to that so much...
at first when I got sober that was the EXACT question I answered myself. It seemed impossible to be happy without Alcohol. But there is light my friend. It will get better. I know this cause it happened to me =)
their acting is so real in this scene
Nice....
I Love this movie. And This scene made me both cry and feel bad for Jackson that he regretted he embarrassed Ally like in the bathroom scene and on the stage at the award ceremony. But I totally hate how Ally's manager Rez accused Jackson for ruined everything for Ally when he didn't meant to do it.
Totally agree! What an idiot he was for sure.
So Very Good This Movie
It doesn't matter what our intentions are. It only matters what we actually do.
You probably dont care but if you're bored like me atm then you can stream all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my gf lately xD
@Edison Morgan Yea, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for years myself =)
Bradley Cooper voice makes his performance more brilliant.
Jack was pure and sweethearted person. He couldn’t get away from his childhood trauma.. He couldn’t stand himself being an embarrassing person to Ally, not a star anymore, and the way it was when they first met. He was so lonely but couldn’t rely on anyone. I know it’s just a movie, but I feel so bad for him.
& apparently he was also uptight about music
Bradley is one Fine man.. :) and actor too.
That's for sure! So passionate about what he does. Amazing.
Lady gaga is so beautiful without all that makeup
Italian face🤔🤔🤔
Horacio Gonzalez she’s American but ok.
@RYAN Jessen stfu
Yeah, my wife is like that. Natural and strong 💪. Very strong yet very beautiful, she will bring down an ox of a man like me to always come back to her.
She does have makeup on her tho
I hope one day that I can find someone to love me as much as Ally loved Jackson , this movie pulled on my heart strings too much
He deserves an Oscar..... Lady Gaga too💗
They deserve monkey feces thrown at them for this horrible acting. They couldn't act if their life depended on it. They never will.
She really loves him. Its. incredible.
Unless you've actually lived these types of moments this you'll never understand. Great movie
Lady Gaga should keep that look right there. I never realized how bueatiful she is.
I know! I agree w/ u..
😀😀🥰🥰
I love her red hair
The face only a mother could love
I can relate to this scene because I'm going through this with my husband who Is an alcoholic.
Every time I see this scene I'm in tears not only watching Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga but is a reflection of my Marriage that even though I was there helping my husband I gave up trying to help someone who doesn't want the help if that makes any sense.......
I get it. Loving an alcoholic/addict is SO hard
I'm currently sitting here knowing my love is spiraling out. It's like witnessing a psychotic break and there's nothing I can do. It's terrifying. And I feel like I'm just waiting for "that call"
I've given everything - time, energy, money. So much. Only to have it thrown in my face
If you've never heard it, the song "Adickted" by Kovacs is pretty accurate. It's about ❄️ but the struggle isn't much different
Good luck to you. Be kind to yourself. Love yourself. When is the last time you did something for you? When was the last time you laughed? Go get a massage, reiki, go see a movie. If you have kids, take them to a movie or play on the swings with them - even if they're teenagers!
Just go do something for yourself. ❤
It's sad when he wrote it he thought about taking his life.
Incredibly well acted scene!
Bradley Cooper has been sober many years in true life
You guys are nuts. The acting is dogshit.
What id have given for a heartfelt apology like this from my alcoholic ex. All I got was defensiveness, blame and denial.
Ein tolles Paar und superschöner Film ❤️😍🌹👏💯
She looks beautiful here
I'm sorry Al
Hey its ok
Hey it's not your fault...its not your fault it's a disease.
I embarrassed you and done some terrible things...and your dad(sobs)
Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper had brilliant chemistry in this film. They had such a realistic chemistry.
Disney65Fan Such a good will hunting moment.
Its not your falt, its not your falt......
I read once that was actually his suicide note she found. And going by the hesitancy in his voice when he was saying why it was there I believe it
His hesitancy was due to being embarrassed at getting caught writing love songs and leaving them in her journal for her to find.
It was a suicide note , she couldn't accept and the audience couldn't accept it either.
This is where my story differed, my ex wife left when I decided to get help. She was more content with drunk me having PTSD attacks and getting 2 hours of sleep a night rather than me getting help to be the mike I was before the military. Im saddened by her leaving but I'm content because the woman I loved isn't in there anymore and it's my fault, a 20 year old woman isn't equipped to deal with a 23 year old vet with PTSD
Hang in there brother, we can all push each other through the hard times
I'm so sorry. Neither of you were prepared to deal with that, and I doubt either of you were offered any guidance or assistance (from the military) to navigate what you'd been through.
I hope you're in a better space than when you posted this. And if not, or you happen to get this on a not so good day? Look up. When bees get stuck in liquid, they drown because they keep looking at how they are stuck. If they'd look up, they'd be able to fly.
I don't know if that's actually true, but I heard it about a year ago and - sometimes - I go for a walk with my dog and I make myself look up. And I take a deep breath. And I look at the sky. And I breathe again. Sometimes I'm angry. Sometimes I cry and bury my face in my dog. And then I look up. And I breathe. And I remind myself I'm still here, and that I refuse to be defeated.
I don't know why your comment hit me so hard. I truly hope you're having a good day.
@Jamie_Cummings thank you man, your support means a lot
@jenniferellison3480 we were not, we got married after I was discharged but got together post deployment 1, by then I was already drinking every night on base. She thought the marine who deployed was exciting and fun. Never had a lot of time together for her to understand how far gone I was. By deployment 2 I was just hollow. I came back and eventually got out after my contract was up. Came home, did what I thought the every man did, got a job welding and laboring in a fab shop, it just didn't work for me. I thought I could leather neck it out, work all day drink all night, rinse and repeat. But eventually after the marriage I just couldn't anymore. The tough exterior just shattered and I put a shotgun in my mouth, THANKFULLY the shell was a dud but I successfully traumatized my mother ( she knew something was off and called me that night) my father ( former army artillery) my wife, and my mother in law. They were either on the phone or down stairs when I pulled the trigger. The police had to come and take me away and I was admitted to a psyche center for 30 days. By far the lowest point I ever was at. But, I am doing better now, I have a beautiful 4 month old daughter and she loves her daddy, I get my full 8 hours a night now, I'm on ssri's for depression and anxiety and I haven't drank in 8 months. I have a pretty decent job as armed security and I haven't thought about Afghanistan in a long time. Thank you so much for your loving comment. I'll definitely be sure to look up at my battle buddies when I'm struggling. You can't give up because when all the chips are down and you're at rock bottom the only way to go is up. God bless you!
What a perfect scene
“We’re both waitin’ for Daddy.”

you bloody Bradley Cooper. do not love me. at Lady Gaga. love me. so it’s Nick
"Its not your fault, it's a disease"
Huh. Why would anyone want to remove the accountability component of being an alcoholic?
A person must willingly engage in a very specific activity and ignore medical evidence to become an alcoholic. You don't just wake up with it one morning, or get a surprise diagnosis from a physician. You have to purposely contribute to it. Therein lies the accountability.
I’ve heard it compared to diabetes, which is a disease with many different risk factors. Once a person is diagnosed with diabetes the obligation is on him/her to get treatment in order to avoid a lousy quality of life and/or potential incapacitation and/or early death. Because substance abuse disorder involves psychological components (as well as genetic, physiological, environmental. social, and cultural components) it has long been demonized as a lack of willpower/demonic influence/corrupted mind/whatever. We still don’t know/understand a lot about addiction but we do know that being born with certain pieces of genetics or being abused as a child or a lack of ability to tolerate distress is not something a person can necessarily control.
A person is accountable for their actions, yes. They cannot be held completely accountable for actions performed in part due to factors they may have little or no control over.
People can be genetically prone to addiction, or mental illness and subsequent self- soothing through use of drugs and/or alcohol. You are correct in saying that in the end it's on the addict, they have to make a choice to change, but the vast majority of addicts need help in doing so, and can't rely on willpower alone.
Perhaps a better statement would be "Don't brood about how you got in this situation. There's a time and place for those and it's not here or now. Focus on getting better first"
Alcoholism renders many people powerless. It's a mental illness.
@@sarahrobertson634 Being rendered powerless by an addiction does not mean it's a mental illness. That's just an outcome of exposing your biological system to alcohol or drugs. It weakens you. It does not strengthen you, including your brain. Some people are more susceptible to mental illness because of the damage done to their brains. The vast majority of mental illnesses are not the result of intentionally ingesting a substance known to be addictive. Alcoholism and drug addiction are quite unique in that respect.
It's not a disease. They just say that so they can get insurance to cover it
It's not a disease. Enough of that.
Um...it is.......and for good reason.
@@stonecold5373it's not
It's literally the definition of disease. Surgeon general disagrees with you too. So I guess it's all these proven and credible sources against you..
Jesus Christ people the acting is ATROCIOUS. You people (kids, teens?) are so easily pleased. Culture -less. You think this movie is great. It's probably cause you grew up watching Twilight and Transformers.
Acting back in the day sucked compared to this. You are too shallow to understand this scene, boomer.
@@MW-vc9gi You're clueless. That's alright. Enjoy this scene and movie.
The films for adults 😐
Time stamp Gaga's worst spot of acting in this scene, then.
Dose not work chemistry wise. Original movie is wow. I could not watch.
Pretty sure you didn’t watch the movie lol
considering the rumours of them having a fling were very strong i would say they had excellent chemistry
