      I can relate to her frustration about giving her proper credit. For instance, any time Adekunle Gold releases a hit song , some Simi's fans would falsely assume Simi is behind it. Simi recently had to disclaim these assumptions.

      I doubt if you have the right to tell any rational person what he/she has to do with their time and whom to meet. Being appreciated for one's effort is worth applauding. If you also get your invite from the Presidency, you can decide not to attend, it is your choice.

      @@themotayos Not in this Nigeria. Even Olamide baddo who mingled with Politicians regretted his action.

      @themotayos Před 2 lety +5

      @@prayercorner6303 I really want you to justify why Taooma and the other skit makers who were invited to the Presidency and attended should have ignored the invite?
      You can tell me because the youths are fighting to end the brutality of the police. If we demanded that the skit makers shouldn't have acknowledged the invite then, we all are being myopic. Many of us including some of these people we are calling "alatenuje" are a victim of what we are fighting against but would that then stop them from making a decision that awards their tenacity?
      Fighting for a cause does not mean we become ignorant.
      For the case of Olamide, it is not every government that one gets favor from and that does not mean he is counting any loss. He is a business man that pitched his tent to whoever understands his craft and he could benefit from. There are other artistes that are benefitting from this present government.

      @@themotayos You are still not getting it
      So you mean you will go even if you had someone in your circle that has been brutalized by the govt? You mean your accolades are more important than good expected from the govt? You mean Mrmacaroni should still go because his recognition is way important than the indelible experience the govt left him with? Baba, govt never do you bad, if them rich your side, you will understand. Nigerians are not myopic especially those that kicked against the attendance of those guys. They expected solidarity and loyalty. Fine, every man is a custodian of his own interest. But guy, you too calm down and reason the thing. If Woli Agba's relative was brutality dealt by the govt, do you think he would open his mouth to call Nigerians Myopic? We are all fighting for a sane country and it must be done in solidarity. Do you know the number of times Gani Fawehimi was given award of recognition and it turned it down? They had to award him forcefully after his death! You don't understand solidarity. If you do, you will not join forces with someone to call Nigerians Myopic. Even Taooma had to apologize after realizing her mistake. Baba, you need to calm down and learn somethings. You know why we all want to relocate to places like America and all, cos some people decided to stay loyal to their country against all odds. America is a product of solidarity and that doesn't mean that there are not atenujes there. Doing the right thing always comes at a cost and that's what these guys who got recognized could not afford.

    • @themotayos
      @themotayos Před 2 lety +3

      @@prayercorner6303 I think we need to put sentiments aside, I like the angle you are driving your points but we need to look at it from the holistic view. So the attendance is what has made all of them not loyal? I believe we are both trying to be objective to justify our points. I will be dropping these questions for you to answer
      1. When Macaroni was assaulted, did these other skit makers rally round him to speak against the ills?
      2. Would Macaroni have attended if he was not assaulted and any unknown person had?
      3. Was the assault meted out on Macaroni done to other unknown persons?
      4.are these skit makers also fighting the good cause for a better governance?
      What I am making us all to understand is that the essence of the recognition was for their Industry and we cannot tell them how they should act. Macaroni that did not attend has his reasons and behind every action there is a gain.
      I will still stand by my words, those who went acted on their right and shouldn't be judged for that.
      If we are all standing for solidarity, the ripple effect of some decision goes beyond what is seen on the surface.
