Have you heard of Marfa, Texas? | RV Newbie Series [USA Road Trip]
After driving all the way from Palm Springs (stopping one night in Phoenix, AZ and one in Las Cruces, NM) we finally made it to Marfa, Texas!! After hearing about all the great things to do in Marfa - from checking out the local art (Judd Foundation & Chinati Foundation) and taking a photo in front of the mini Prada Store, to searching for the Marfa Mystery Lights - there are a few really cool things to do in Marfa!
What surprised us most about Marfa was how nice the people were and how well they designed and decorated their businesses! The town has a nice minimalistic aesthetic and sensibility and the food and coffee we were also impressed by!! Even the relaxed vibe of the town and RV Park we stayed in definitely felt special and unique to us.
Around midnight, we did try to see the Marfa Mystery Lights and although we had no luck, we ended up seeing the most incredible night sky we have ever seen!! On your way through West Texas this is definitely a place to check out, along with Alpine just down the road.

LOVE YOUR VIDEO! Saw Marfa segment on 60 minutes and I was like, "honey were going" I think we stayed at the Tumble In RV Park for a week before anyone asked us to pay. Cheap Sangria every night from the quickie mart, drunk on the roof of the MH. Thanks for the memory, excellent production!

It's definitely worth visiting! A lot of cool shops, great food, nice people, and the most incredible night sky we've ever seen! :)
Y’all better stop at a Buc-ee’s if you haven’t already. Also if you are heading to the San Antonio area try and see the Alamo/river walk.
Also Fredericksburg is a great place to go eat, wine tasting and shop around at but you got to see Enchanted Rock a few miles Northeast of there. Beautiful place.
Gruene in New Braunfels is a fun historic town to shop at try some wine and listen to some music. Freiheit County store, not far from there, is another great place for food and live music with a very Texas feel.
A few great places to eat at I’d suggest would be Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Fall, Richter’s Antler Cafe in Spring Branch (My home town)

Hey Jonathon! Wow! Thanks for all of the recommendations. We drove past a Buc-ee's and it was massive. We both thought that might be something cool and when we read your comment we laughed! Dang. We might be passing one on our way out of Austin. :) Unfortunately we were hit with this big storm so we've been inside the last 5 days. Hopefully we'll get a chance to check some of these things out. Hope you're doing well!

Question: do you ever get copyright claims on the music clips you use? (Rambling Man, Superfreak, etc?). I’ve gotten a claim on a 3 second snippet of a song, so I am curious how that affects your editing style and AdSense. Thanks and keep making great videos!!! Love!
Gotta keep them really short, but we use non-copyrighted music 99% of the time. Cheers, have a blast living on the road!

Yeaaahhh! :) Glad you like them Jesse. Alaska - We hope so! Probably not in the RV though lol We just had our first experience in a freeze and I'm not sure we'd want to mess with Alaska like this... a hotel/airbnb for sure!

Unfortunately it’s not a hidden gem anymore, everyone has discovered our small town of Marfa and the surrounding small towns.

@@ONWorldTravel returning to the east coast from San Diego, drove thru El Paso, up I20, stopping in Stillwater. Eventually drove like 900 miles from El Paso to Texarkansas - all to get thru 1 state!

Did you go see the Marfa Lights?! They are a natural unexplained lights near Marfa. You can read all about the research done on thwm at Alpine University.
Hey Keith! We did! And unfortunately we didn't see much. Maybe we saw one red light but cant be sure lol however... we saw THE MOST INCREDIBLE night sky of our lives. The sky was crystal clear and the stars were so so bright. Have you been?
@@ONWorldTravel I’ve been and was lucky enough to see them the first time I was there. You cannot not know that those lights aren’t supposed to be there. If you have some doubt, those aren’t the lights. It almost seems like the brain can’t make sense of them. As we were leaving, one seemed to follow in the distance and made an almost instantaneous turn back opposite to where we were driving. There is no denying those lights once you have experienced them.
How can you travel to Marfa and not try to see the Marfa Mystery lights that James Dean became obsessed with watching ?

LOVED IT. The people were friendly, you can find great food, coffee, and shopping and the stars were some of the best we've ever seen!
