ASMR Shop with Rebecca (Soft Spoken) Part 1/Portland Consignment shop!

- The wonderful woman who owns Portland Consignment allowed me to film a video at her store while it was closed. It is perfectly quiet accept for the traffic noise going by on the hwy outside. Dear Melissa said, "lock the door after me", and left me there alone! That is how kind and trusting she was of me. I have a two hour video which I have broken up into two parts. Today is part 1 Soft spoken. Next week, Part 2.
This store is awesome and gave me some fantastic sounds and purchases! Yay! So you may expect a few videos more as a result of this trip. Please stay tuned this month for some great sounds!
Mostly what you will hear in this video is the sound of plastic crinkles, purse rummaging, paper crinkles, book page turning, jewelry rummage, toy rummage, etc. etc. Too many to name! Plus, my animated soft spoken voice!

I love that when you get to the baskets of specific stuff you rummage through them and look at every item. Most ASMRtists would just do tapping while passing by. But as a very curious person I LOVE THAT.

I hate the sound of the traffic. But I am so glad you didn’t mind it. Traffic noise will sometimes cause me anxiety. I guess that’s what comes from being raised in the country.

I think the definition about the purse you found must have been British. In the UK traditionally a purse is what a woman would put her money in. That purse would then go into a handbag to be carried around along with keys etc. Then a wallet is what a man would carry his money in. (Obviously its 2022 so the "one belongs to a woman and the other applies to a man" rule doesn't really exist anymore but just thought I would mention the words we would use over here). My Goodness, Rebecca! I had so much fun watching this! I would have bought those bagged cars also. When I was a little boy, I loved Matchbox cars. I had a lot of them. My brother liked Hot Wheels, yes they were cooler, but they didn't roll like Matchbox cars. Such Memories! Thank you for another great shopping experience. 😄
What was the name of the cars that you could run electrically on those black tracks?
@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction We called them slot cars because there was a slot underneath the cars that would fit in the groove of the track. Later, they came out with the slot less cars or digital cars and these cars could change lanes. My brother and I use to build those tracks around our apartment. My parents didn't seem to mind so long as we didn't leave the tracks around the place. We took them apart just as quickly as we put them together. Fun times 😊

In England we call what you guys call a purse a handbag, backpack or tote bag. And I think what you guys call a pocket book (first time I've heard that reference) we call a purse. And then for you a wallet is what men use. I don't know why we have gendered our money carriers over here but for some reason we just have 😂 I have always always wondered why purse was a term for a whole handbag. I'm so glad you mentioned it!!

Tonsil...When I was young we all wore sandals that were called thongs. Now they’re called flip-flops! Go figure!
In the south, we call a mans wallet a billfold and a woman’s purse a pocketbook. Those are old terms now but my grandparents use them frequent

Flip flops and thongs being the same and the sandals having at least one strap with a buckle. I think I learnt most of the differences through watching Friends and various other US shows. So interesting!
Cell phones became popular after I completed college. Hard to imagine a time without them now! My dad initially got me the giant “brick” phone that Zack Morris used in Saved By the Bell. When I wouldn’t use it he went back and got me a Motorola flip phone that I had until 2012 when my niece accidentally left it in a cab in Washington DC. By then it was a dinosaur anyway. I was texting using the number system on your phone! Lol. Glad I upgraded. Lol.
I had a Motorola flip phone too! I loved it! Wish they still made them. Can’t get a quality flip phone anymore. But I am also addicted to my iPhone. 😁
I'm here for a miracle. Your channel has been helpfull in past situations. You are my favorite ASMR artist. My current situation my husband snoring louder than anyone in the entire world or at least I'm pretty sure sleeping not in the middle of the bed but on my side its a darn queen and we could fit a family on the other side of him. Hopefully this video will help if anyones channel can do it I know it will be yours. How on earth can someone SNORE SO LOUD LOL😵😂.
UiPDATE I was laughing at my comment a few times ok maybe 5 or 10 times I'm tired folks and my husband finally turned to his side so now at least he is in the middle of the bed so I'm not clinging on the matress for dear life. I tried multiple times to lightly push him over prior to this video. This video was very helpful thanks so much!

Loved this! I wish we had Consignment shops in Italy where I live as well, it looks like you can find very good bargains!! Are the items sold there used, new or a mixture of the two?
Most items at consignment shops are usually used. Their kind of like a thrift store but you can have the shop sell items for you and they get a cut of the profit.
This particular shop does get some new things now and then. But it is always through a second party. Not wholesale. I’m glad you enjoyed this Chiara. ☺️

Because I'm born and raised here I always have the appropriate colors of Mardi Gras. Purple, green and gold. And for the Saints black and gold. You'll find those colors on almost every home, car or business throughout the year. BUT!! I'm over going to parades. Although the surrounding cities of New Orleans have many parades and parties, the French Quarter is the place to go to experience the real feel it. Without kids!😉🎉🎆🏈🍾🍷🍸🍺🍻

I put a voice over the original video. I try to remember what I was thinking at the time. Then I act it out so it seems as if I was there while I speak.
