- I wore it for a year and it's my FAVORITE G-Shock.

This review is the result of one year's worth of tough tests and comparisons to all the other major G-Shock releases. The Mudman GW-9500 is the BEST G-Shock you can buy if you're looking for ABSOLUTE TOUGHNESS.
Sure, you might find one that's tougher, but it will cost more and be a lot bigger.

I completely agree. I too love the Mudman GW 9500-1. My other favorite one is the GBD H2000. Which I am wearing today.
Yes! Another Jim Kinkade video! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
😂😂😂 brilliant review! “Avocado oil”, I burst out laughing! Wearing the gw9500 today! God bless from Ireland
Great video after one year. At first I was on the fence, but after seeing your videos I bought this mudman and I like it. I also own the GW 9400 rangeman but I like this watch, is slimmer. I also bought the GWG 1000-1A3ER mudmaster, it was on sale for about 430 usd after the new gwg-b1000 was released, and it's my favorite. You mentioned my comment about updating the gbd-h2000. I'm not making fun, the truth is that casio needs to make more effort in this segment of smartwatches and apps, that's why I like these standalone watches more. I also observed that you keep your watches in this metal box, which is a faraday cage, blocking the signal from the atomic clock, and the solar charging also not working. And you are right about the GPS, I'm close to the russian border, and they jam the signal very often. Sometimes even the cellular network is having difficulty to connect. Starlink is affected in some areas. But we are very dependent on this technology, but is also a weak point in a conflict. On the other hand I will wait for your opinion on the new metal bezel version of the mudman. Here is not available yet, but I'm interested.
That’s what I like so much about the Mudman: Its size. Glad you like it too.
Thank you ! Top info ! I just bought and waiting for the new mudmaster Solar GWG 2000 1A3 ! No Bluetooth rubbish and apps ! God bless !
Sounds great! I hope you like it!
@@olegpetelevitch4443 Great choice, I have the older version gwg-1000-1a3er. I was looking for this one, but when I tried on, I realized that this new one is slimmer but the lug to lug dimension is bigger and the GWG 1000 is more suitable for my wrist, the wings under the strap are bigger and help a lot. But I like the design on this gwg 2000.
I think that GWG 1000 Mudmaster is better
This is only my opinion
Great job with your videos
@@calinbogdan5839 Yes, I have the GWG-1000-1A3ER, it's another category, and more expensive. But the mudman is slimmer and lighter. In terms of legibility I always favored the analog watches.
Totally agree, great watch, no nonsense, multi band 6, and no app stalling and updating software making changes that I don't want. My TLC version has the metal bezel, which because of your findings I'm glad I have but if it was the resin and warped I would treat it as a battle scar from genuine use. The metal is not heavy at all, I don't think you would notice at all of you get to try one on. Great one year review, now just one left on the warranty 😊 Thanks Jim 👍
Happy one year user here, too. I noticed the "pins" or bolts do not quite screw fully tight on the case. Of course, they don't fall out or anything, but they do rotate. For safety's sake I added a tiny drop of loctite, when I was changing straps. Thank you for the review!
Aw yea. Loctite!
Currently saving my money to grab a Mudman. Great review.
Yes! Join the brotherhood!
I got my first G Shock, Rangeman GW9400. I love it. Planning my second purchase of another G Shock soon. Wonder what I should get?
Long story but I lost my CZcams account a while back and now I am back😊
First place I had to check in was with favourite Watch guy.
I am definitely going to get this Mudman, thanks to you, Jim.
Liked and subscribed ❤ (again!)
Great to have you back! Glad you got pretty much the same screen name. It’s a good one.
Thank you, my friend 🙏@@JimKinkade
Nice review. My GW 9400 is my stand along watch. Survived my firefighting career. 👨🏻🚒
That’s a heck of an endorsement!
@@JimKinkade You should try it, although I’m not sure you’ll like it.
How does the gw-9400 compare to the gw-9500. I am leaning toward the gw-9400. I like the looks better and the sunset/sunrise function (I am in agriculture). However, the Gw-9400 looks chunky and if you move your wrist back the sensor may poke into your arm, and this would be a disqualification.
I wore it for years as a firefighter. Never had a problem with it. It’s a great watch.
Actually today marks 1 year that I ordered mine ( from Japan) but yeah it's been on my wrist every day,and you know what? It's Awesome!
@@neillewi9576 it’s a coin flip. Both are really good. My choice is the 9500.
same problem with me ,the sensor poke too
Had mine a month. I'm a plasterer tough as hell. Great review.
Have you seen the GA-2200M-4A
Its similar and no btooth.
Can you review the mudmaster
Nice Mudman Jim. Saying hi to you from sunny and hot Kalamata, Greece.🇬🇷
I completely agree with you. I have the green version with neg screen and I find it absolutely fine to read. Mwc goes for aesthetics a lot of the time rather than function I find. Love mine to bits
You know you’re making me want to try the negative screen for myself.
Jim - with you working in the oil fields, even if not on the rig floor, I'd think the Mudman is going to be tougher than the Mudmaster by virtue of being solid state. Maybe the hands on the Mudmaster are too tough to come off even in that environment, but if anyone might break em, it's gonna be you guys out there. I think you're 100% right about the Mudman being the "optimization" of strength. I prefer having an analog dial, but I know the strongest is gonna be the digital version.
Thanks for the long term real-world review of this watch! Looking forward to your thoughts on the metal version.
Good point. There's absolutely no hands to break on the mudman. And I don't know if anyone would even want wear a watch on the rig floor with all that rotating equipment.
@@JimKinkade I know I wouldn't! Already seen too many freak accidents in way less dangerous environments.
The cat's headbutt test should never be underappreciated 😅😅
Good point on the screwed in straps vs the spring pin straps. I've had the g-9300-1 Mudman since 2012, use it almost every day in my job as an auto mechanic. It's almost ridiculously beaten up now, still works great. I recently took it apart to clean it and it was disgusting inside 😂 but held up great, never leaked either!
The screwed on straps are cool, they "slot" into the case then screw down. It's very comfy.
60 minute cdt on mip watches is stupid - I just used a 6hr cdt to tell me when I could take more cold medicine this week. A 60 minute cdt just isn't enough
How do we feel about gw9400 rangeman for these tasks?
@@Mrb00st I think the 9500 has some advantages over the 9400 for practical purposes. For one thing the bezel isn’t bowl shaped.
You can break in your boots the same way too.
Not a good idea but you can do it if you want.
Scare the Dickens! Omg i haven't heard that in years and only my grandmother ever said it. 😂.
Just bought one after watching a few of your videos, 🍻
Nice!👍 Enjoy it!
I just found now the tracking mode pressing 5 seconds on altimeter mode.
Good find. I'll have to try that out.
Have a good weekend Jim!
@@timshull59 you too, Tim!
I've seen you tested this model in the oil, mud, and how about if you test with the Petrol or fuel?
@@hwunnasakda9096 how about a diesel dunk?

Any luck with nato straps in this guy?
No, I'm sticking with the resin band.
Waiting for your review on the mudmaster
Ok. Stay tuned for that one. It may be a few weeks.
I have the GXW-56-1Bjf. Insane big but its g shock. So i accept it
I caved and ordered the G-Shock Mudman GW-9500MEC-1JF from my dealer in Japan. Master of G Emergency Colors Series. Shipping very soon, Monday, I think. I would be lying if I said I was not excited. Would prefer sapphire glass tho. Looking forward to getting it in hand. A good way to keep losing weight is not to call the pizza man via phone or app. I wish I could stop calling. Ha.
@@deech2086 yea, a good smart fitness watch would block calls to the pizza man. Let us know what you think about the emergency Mudman.
@@JimKinkadedid you order from Pembroke House of Pizza in the south shore? What part of Massachusetts did you live in? I’m from Massachusetts and live in Massachusetts not far from the Rhode Island border.
I break none. But still buy many more G's.
If it can survive a cat head but then it's a keeper bro
This is kinda love letter to a Mudman, I like it. Exactly as I thought....less software, updates, more satisfaction. I'm really glad to hear that you approved that MudBoy, it's probably okay. By my personal preference my GW9300 JDM is the last really old school MudBoy, I don't need any better (it's hard to make it better), and a carbon fiber band is impossible to beat. Not all apps are stupid, but...I wouldn't put it at the same sentence with a wrist watch, that's not a place for it.
I don't blame Casio, guys from Casio are just listening a demand, and a result is a making a ''smartwatch'' for everyone from something that wasn't designed to be that at all....but Casio should also listen the old school boys like me, and the other ones like me....not listen, but just to be what it was always been, and make something nice for us, too. Who cares about what Mad Watch Collector is saying? Ugly? That's just his personal preference...by my personal preference he's ugly as a dog, but I didn't told him that....I told him only that my dog is getting crazy from those mental bells and screams in his videos, which is true....some level should exist. MWC is a bit of a slave of some brands, to some of his sponsors but okay, that's his business.
After all of your tortures, that thing is still alive and it's still there for you, that's enough.
The old mud resist structure was quite bad in day to day usage. The Mudman G-9000 had issues with the screen cracking off because of a strong impact.
It’s funny that you said love letter because I’m working on a song about the Mudman.
@@traviswalker8933 I have this G-9000 mudman for more than 10 years, and nothing happened to the screen. But in cold weather the buttons are difficult to operate.
@@fuloplehel ofcourse the membrane mechanism isn't the most intuitive one for mud resistance. Also I'm talking about when the watch is dropped onto concrete. It happened to a lot of people
@@traviswalker8933 I think the membrane is not great, but is the best protection against mud. It is used on industrial machines, mining equipment and military. Dropping watches on concrete, I can count on my one hand how many times I drop a watch,or smartphone. Yes I bumped my watches into equipment at work, but they stayed on my wrist.
No gshock points in Canada yet 😢
That’s no fair!
@@JimKinkade I know, hopefully we'll get them one day!
How about your gpr h1000 ?
Not even close 😂
I had problems with the screws coming off that held on the band. I had to send it back for repair. Now my son is wearing it and we'll get his take on it.
@@JimKinkadewhen do you think that you will give us an updated review video on your gpr-h1000 Rangeman that your son is wearing and using?
Jim, you’re right Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Now what exactly are you trying to express at 13:32 ?
There's another mudman coming out soon that has a metal bezel around the screen instead of the the plastic bezel you see on this one.
Have this and the rangeman 9400
which one do you like better?
I think the mudman for sheer robustness
you always forget to check the stopwatch and leave on after 6 months or 2 years you check again to record, the funniest thing about this you never reset the stopwatch on this watch and simply forget on there 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@turdfurgisin5843 Tik Tok is the high IQ platform. No joke. Why do you think *they* don’t want you on it?
Also jim saying millennial aren't motivated to work is real dumb. We're pushing 40 now. You're thinking of these gen z kids. We've all got back pain and mortgages now too.
@@Mrb00st it’s a joke on my channel that everyone younger is a millennial and everyone older is a boomer. So literal millennials are now figurative boomers.
I agree with you man, pretty stupid statement
You shake those watches around way too much, in and out of focus; I couldn’t watch your entire video.
The camera’s focus point wasn’t centered. But the audio was good so I just went with it.
@@JimKinkade OK. I appreciate the content.
