  • The Festival Singers of Florida perform 'Joy' by Hans Bridger Heruth, based on the poem of the same name by Sara Teasdale
    Conducted by Dr. Kevin Fenton
Piano by Justin Havard and Phil Biedenbender
I AM wild, I will sing to the trees,
I will sing to the stars in the sky,
I love, I am loved, he is mine,
Now at last I can die!
I am sandaled with wind and with flame,
I have heart-fire and singing to give,
I can tread on the grass or the stars,
Now at last I can live!

This song is so ironic. It’s called joy but I’m crying my eyes out. It’s so moving to listen to. Know what I’m gonna listen to on loop for the rest of my life. This song.

I sang this song all throughout my first two high school years, and currently being in this pandemic I tried to sing with my music like I used to and I got about to measure 37 then started balling my eyes out, I thank you 1 million times over for keeping this up, and thank you for letting me remember what it was like to sing with people who loved me

More people in the choir than the audience.
    Still, fine singing!
    So what's to be done???

Keep making music! If you (create) it, they will come! And if hundreds come, perform for them! And if only the blessed few come, perform for them! Sing, dance, paint, sculpt, create! Ars gratia artis!

In my opinion the most important part is what the singers are feeling less so that however many people are in the audience and you can tell that the choir is enjoying it as they should
