@Pez perhaps you are showing how far removed our society is from theirs. Aztec athletes are said by some to have competed against each other for the honor to be sacrificed to a deity. The drugs they were doing at the time probably gave them a perspective of life and death that would have grave implications on our understanding of the natural world.

We are primitive compared to them. They must have had a very good understanding of sound waves and how to manipulate them with geometric shapes. Aka. They had advanced sound engineering at the very least.

That’s usually the case with any “primitive” civilization that existed people always think they are so advanced take even any amazonian tribes men they have a vast knowledge of their plants, how to make poison using whatever is available. I notice overall people seem to think of “We” when it comes to technology, no you didn’t create the phone an individual made that if anything majority of us are dumb compared to a tribes person or any “primitive civilization”

    • @flyingpenandpaper6119

@@KrunchyMilk_01 Right and wrong. It's true that a lot of other civilisations had advanced knowledge in a few select fields, but none of them compare to science. Modern engineers could build the Pyramids today with ease. It's mighty impressive that they did it pre-science, and clearly they knew some very powerful techniques we don't. But post-science, we can do most of what anyone has ever done, and better. We just use different methods.

I know a lot of science people (I’m a firm believer and practitioner in science myself) misuse science and in bad faith try to dismiss spirituality. But these are many examples where spirituality can do things even science cannot. And I know people will already try to pretend they understand these things in their armchairs at home who’ve never even been to these places, but you don’t. We don’t. Otherwise we would have replicated these wonders on the same scale by now.

Think of it in terms of a flashlight(Parabola shape), the middle where the light is focused in order to get maximum brightness is called the foci. So now in terms of sound waves you clap where the foci is and it spreads the sound all over like the flash light spreads light all over. Then through calculations they tweak it so that at the end of where the waves travel it sounds like a bird and a snake. Its a fundamental concept of math thats why we learn about parabolas so much at school.

No, this was not accidental. Snakes and birds are important symbols of Mexico’s ancient history. All of this cannot be a coincidence since both animals are represented in Mexica (Aztec) and Mayan culture. Just Google who Quetzalcoatl was and that’ll answer your question. Clue: He was a God described as a "feathered serpent" 😉.

@@marym.6782 Yes, I've know of the god-figure for a long time. I realize they chose to represent the snake visually, purposefully, but I still think the echoes are probably happy accidents. They would not have been able to guess how an echo would sound, until a structure was erected. It makes for a good tourist story tho.

@@srg2972 I agree with you. I was looking to see if anybody had posted that it's somewhat coincidence. Let's be honest there just echo sounds.
