    I just wanna say that I love these videos! Sometimes videos made by the company can come across overly manufactured or make it seem like nothing ever goes wrong with a product. These videos are great at not only addressing what can go wrong but also how to fix them. And they also talk to you like you're an actual consumer and not like you're someone watching an ad for the product.

    Hi. I have started working with resin for the first time, I have seen a lot of tutorials so that I could work with it. I made some mistakes as doing a large project 😱 and first the top section was brilliant , it was clear and looked really good, I then did some sides and it ran over the top piece which then left sticky patches, and have to admit I panicked and thought I had ruined the whole project, but seeing this video I can have some hope of recovering the whole thing. Thank you from a beginner 😊

      You should always finish your mix in a separate clean cup and scrape the sides of the first cup into the second cup and finish mixing for another 2-3 minutes. She isn't even giving proper mixing instructions

    • @JuiceBoxx_627
      @JuiceBoxx_627 Před 3 lety +2

      This is how I mix my resin and I scrape my sides out to not waste my resin and because I finish in a second clean cup, I have zero unmixed epoxy.

    • @JuiceBoxx_627
      @JuiceBoxx_627 Před 3 lety +2

      You should also NEVER add a new layer over uncured epoxy as it will seep through and make someone sick. If there's sticky spots scrape/sand them out or strip the piece, it will never cure and is extremely toxic.

    • @Artresin
      @Artresin  Před 3 lety

      @@JuiceBoxx_627 Yes, you can certainly measure in separate cups then pour into another to mix. It is always important to ensure you are mixing 1:1 and ensuring you are getting all the resin and hardener fully incorporated.

    • @Artresin
      @Artresin  Před 3 lety +1

      @@JuiceBoxx_627 When faced with wet resin that didn't cure, it is important to scrape off all of the wet resin as Joanne demonstrates in this video. Once the loose wet ArtResin has been removed, you can then go ahead and pour on a second layer of perfectly mixed ArtResin. You are correct in noting it is important to remove the wet resin since it will never cure and will end up seeping out, but I am happy to tell you that ArtResins formula is non-toxic 🙂

    Great video, thanks for that! Just curious though, when you say tacky, is that the same as sticky? I've got a piece that has some pretty thick resin, and the very top of it is left sticky. now it has finger prints and dust debris build up. Should I just clean it with the alcohol, then sand it with 80 grit, and do another pour after the bad part is gone?

    • @Artresin
      @Artresin  Před 4 lety +4

    I loved the video on sticky resin. I made a bunch of straw toppers and they out sticky. What I tried, because the pieces are small, I use clear, high gloss nail polish and then put them under the UV light. Thank you for your great information.

    Thank you so much for this you save me! I love your soothing way to explain what most of us freak out about ❤️ I use resin a bit differently, I brush coat my acrylic painted shells. So they’re just lightly coated. How long do you recommend you I dry them for? For a full dry. Thanks 🙏🏽

    I was working on a beautiful mold a few days ago and filled the molds with water to make sure I was making enough resin mix. I thought I measured it right but was dead wrong. When I poured the resin I was short a little more than 1/4". I freaked and rushed to make a new batch to fill it but it had been over 2 hours so I didn't know what to expect. Well 3 days later the new pour hadn't cured yet and I tried everything to heat the cast but no success. After watching you video I braved it and spent about 3 hours removing the last pour. Wow what a headache. Anyway the remaining cast is sanded and still a little sticky but the worst is done. Taking a break for today and starting again tomorrow. Wish me luck on completing it. Even though I'm frustrated (because I'm a newbie and wanted to give this as a gift) I am grateful to you for giving me the inspiration to go for it. I know now my rushing caused me to make the wrong mixture so in the future I will be extremely careful in mixing. Thanks for sharing...

      We have all been there at one time or another, the good news is we learn from all of our experiences-good and bad. The better news is you can now go ahead and pour on your next carefully mixed layer and complete your project. Good luck :)
