    Regan,
In every way I agree with all you have said here. I tell my wife, who is Filipino, the same things all the time. Filipino's don't recognize how great Philippine society is. It's truly one of a kind. There is sadly a tremendous amount of poverty there, and that's mainly because of a corrupt government, which all Filipinos know about, but feel relatively powerless to do much about. I love the Philippines more each time I'm there, and all I think about when I'm not there is about going back. My wife wants to leave and live in Canada where' I'm from. No matter how much I try she just doesn't understand how amazing and beautiful her country and culture are.
Thank You for this video Regan!

Peace, Happiness, Love and Laughter Always,
    Matt

Filipinos are the most awesome people on the planet. They mix love, care, diligence and duty with song, dance, music, laughter, and fun, all in perfect harmony.
I've had many Pinoy and Pinay friends in my time and they're some of the best people I've known.
I admire and respect their bravery, and courage as they head out into the world to do their best for their families. They're amazing people.
    Filipinos! This Australian loves you.

People here being proud may make it seem like this is such a great country, but there's corruption everywhere, the streets are littered with trash, and there are few jobs available. So much so that people are desperate enough to be hired as a gas tank filler at gas stations when in other countries people do that themselves. I understand being proud of your culture, but if your culture is what led to the nation's shitty circumstances in the first place (e.g. Filipinos tend to spend beyond their means, crab mentality, ningas kugon, etc.), it's really hard to be proud of it.
